  1. The Refs dId a good joB of handling the pressUrE. hunterS lane wIns a Major gaMe to Stay in the playoff race.
  2. That is correct once the midstate is determined, clarksville, maplewood, whoever, they will have to travel to west tn regardless of record.
  3. I know HL and Maplewood won their first week games. HL beat glencliff 26-6. Maplewood beat Overton. Not sure of the score on that one though.
  4. Now to clarifiy the fumble on the 1 yard line: On a QB draw, knowing he is stopped short of the goal line - Barnes pitches the ball in the enzone while he's going to the ground. Although it's counted as a fumble, and everyone in the stands thinks he's fumbled, in reality he did it purposely in hopes a T-Town player recovered the ball in the enzone. MW made a good stop down there on the one yard line, that I'll give them credit for. But Barnes is a gamer, he was still fighting and trying to find a way to take the lead in this game. Again no fumble - just some solid D on maplewood's part at the end of the game and a QB trying to make something happen. If you have film - make sure you watch this again. you're funny. maybe you should take a vocabulary course. excuse-an explanation offered as a reason for being excused.
  5. Ok, Tullahoma fans, we hear the excuses for the fumble on the one yard line, etc. Please explain the 382 yds put up by T. Holt. What will Tullahoma do differently this yr. You let the man run a 99 yd TD. What will be different this yr?? Will Tullahoma tackle this yr?? Please no more excuses from last yr.
  6. Tullahoma fans will be surprised at simpson. He isn't far behind Jamie Graham as being a playmaker at the QB position. He can do it with his feet and his arm. Maplewood keeps teams off balance(ask HL), with the option or throwing the ball. I watched Barnes last yr and his biggest problem is he forces the ball sometimes to unopen receivers. If he runs he won't last the whole game, mwoods linebackers are too big to dance around or scramble. HL had the game in control until a bonecrushing hit by a maplewood linebacker. unfortunately #4 didn't return to the game for HL. after that hit it was all Maplewood. hillsboro doesn't play D like it did last yr. they try to outscore their opponent. maplwood by two touchdowns. speed is the only thing that can defeat maplewood. HL had it with No.1, no. 4, and no. 5. The linebackers couldn't catch them coming around the ends. Tullahoma doesn't have much speed. Maplewood 27-14.
  7. Stratford is better than last yr, but still not that good. I'll go with Maplewood Hillsboro WC Tullahoma Stratford Lawrence Co. Hickman Co. Shelbyville
  8. The tullahoma talk is early as is the Hillsboro. Maplewood will handle HL easily. Maplewood's D is to tough. Those linebackers put fear in anyone coming across the middle. HL WILL have to throw the ball to beat Mwood. Running the fullback up the middle against the wood will not work. Mwood by two touchdowns. Yes Mwood is the team to beat in metro this yr. Hboro is right behind them. All passing teams just remember, it will get cold at some point and time. Hillsboro's formula worked in cold weather and warm weather when they were a running team. Those passes get harder to catch when the weather gets cold.
  9. Yes they are down. Whites Creek will need another big week from Jamie Graham, Metro's best athlete. WC has no answer for McAdoo or Buchanan. ANtioch can throw down the seams at those two big TE's and go up and down the field all day long. WC should be able to score against antioch, as HL passed for 130 yds with average WR's. Whites Creeks D is undersized and undermanned. Oh yeah and Jamie Graham led WC's SR class to a Freshman championship against Hillsboro in 2002. I guess they beat Antioch during the playoffs.
  10. He hasn't signed yet. He has verbally committed. He still has to get his test scores up(ACT/SAT). His GPA is solid. Good luck to the Graham family.
  11. I did. Jamie is a Great kid. Very well mannered. Great Attitude. Being a cobrafan , yes I saw where he signed with Vandy.
  12. In 2005, 4 Metro Nashville middle school teams played for the city championship. Each team was led by an outstanding player. Fastforward to 2006. Each one of those players are making big headlines on the football field for their respective schools. Those who keep up w/ Metro sports will recognize these four names. Eric Gordon (Bass MS) now at Hillsboro Tavares Jefferson (Dupont Tyler MS) now at Ensworth Terrance Davis (JFK MS) now at Antioch Markus Cantrell (Dalewood MS) now at Maplewood. Gordon was actually Mr. Basketball for the Western Division and Jefferson was Mr. Basketball for the Eastern Division. Just last yr, Cantrell and Jefferson squared of for the 9th grade city championship(bball). All are very important players for their respective football teams. Cantrell sees action as a tailback(spelling all-state T. Holt) and defensive back. His team won the city championship in football as a ninth grader. Gordon Position CB/TB -of course everyone knows he is the younger brother of Miss. State Guard Jamont Gordon. He started every game as freshman for HHS at cb. Plays some offense. Jefferson Position Ath-He could very well be Ensworth's version of Golden Tate. Davis very athletic QB. he could start for almost any other metro program. due to antioch's large population he's the 2nd string qb. but he will be good. Keep an eye on all four of those names. One of the better skilled position classes in metro in a long time. All of them are # 2, except for Gordon(#3).
  13. T-town will encounter a very good secondary. HHS, has a good secondary led by CB Eric Gordon(younger brother of Jamont Gordon). Stay away from him. HHS is very dangerous offensively they can score in the air as well as the ground. Tough to game plan against them.
  14. This game could get ugly...........MHS, should suit up as many FR as possible for this game. T. Holt will be done by halftime.
  15. That may be the best linebacker group in 4A. Those guys are the real deal. PC won't get much done on the ground. Maplewood will win this one in the air. They have a very underrated WR in Jonathon Moore. Cantrell and Holt are stud RB's. But I've watched Moore and he is a tremendous threat at WR. They can score whenever they decide to throw his way. He catches anything that he can put his hands on. Rashad Mason is tall, but he usually has the case of the drops. He is not sure handed. D. Mason should be very careful scrambling, because those LB's will pop him.
  16. Maplewood Whites Creek Hillsboro Tullahoma Stratford Maplewoods defense will be the story of the yr. I say maplewood will allow around 8 pts a game.
  17. I think #2 is Terrance Davis, someone correct me if I'm wrong. He showed some amazing speed. He is one heckuva a basketball player too. I didn't know he played football until, I saw the Lebanon - Antioch scrimmage. He is a tremendous athlete. I'm glad to see he isn't limiting himself to one sport.
  18. I'd be more upset at not having Golden Tate at maplewood than D. Mason. D. Mason was headed to maplewood, but the coaching staff at maplewood told mason he wouldn't get a shot at qb right away so he went to pearl where he started immediately at qb as a FR. Its funny Coach Fitzgerald calls mason Gra-Mar. I don't know about the recruiting allegations........ I guess maplewood is mad at PJPII as well. G. Tate went to GraMar before transferring to a parochial middle school.
  19. He signed a free agent contract w/ the patriots. Good luck to Erik on making the team.
  20. Maplewood beat Glencliff 28-0. McGavock beat WC 8-6.
  21. Football. His heart just wasn't into it like basketball. Unfortunately there are more 5'9" football players than bball players.
  22. Everyone in Nashville has known about this for sometime. No surprise. Alot of this discussion has come up wherever the former coach has tried to apply for another job. It was more on that coach than the school.
  23. Aydellot has already said he will run the wing-t at Riverdale. Its what he knows best.
