  1. I didn't see this coming. Must've been some sort of disagreement w/ central office. Much like the Bball job, is the football vacancy even attractive??
  2. McAdoo is 6'6" or 6'7"he plays the 4 or 5. He'll have to play the 3 in college though.
  3. HL will be much improved. They will be bringing up some very good and talented sophomores. Maplewood will be good with key players returning and an influx of soph. from last yrs freshman city champs. WC will have to decice what to do with Jamie Graham. IF they move him to QB you take away an option at receiver. But he will be an upgrade at QB as far as running and decision making go and leadership. Replacing John Bond will be the biggest hole to fill. Antioch the talent is there, just getting the results are a different matter.
  4. Demonte Harper-Whites Creek Jamie Graham - Whites Creek
  5. He will play basketball his sr. yr. I'm just saying his schol. opportunities will probably come from football.
  6. not sure what schools are looking at him in bball, but his heart is unbelievable. kid gives 110% everytime. he is an outstanding DB/WR in football, which may be his focus for next yr(and scholarship opportunities).
  7. Keith Ramsey is the stars' best player. If the offense went through him every time good things would almost always happen. Oden is good but you are right, his jumper is so-so. He wants to duck his head penetrate and get to the hole. Which is ok, but sometimes you need to take what the defense gives you. I like cutter he plays hard and makes good decisions. As far as Jones, he received a tech in both games against WC. Nothing new there. Congrats on a great season.
  8. I was VERY impressed with Barry Stewart. I think some major D1 schools are sleeping on this kid. He is a very good player. He should be playing major D1 ball some where. He could go to prep school and REALLY improve his stock.
  9. If HL played with the same intensity they play with when they play WC, they would've beaten shelbyville. Henley did. Coach should trust his bench more. Lippe can handle the ball and shoot. there are some guys on that bench that can play. remember HL's junior class was city champs as freshman................ only one person can shoot the ball at a time. some of those guys can come in play defense, set screens, etc. when u put two of your top offensive threats to defend Barry Stewart who is a STUD that effects their own offense(mike jones and uryan scales). surely someone on the bench can come in and get 5 fouls and frustrate him. instead stewart did all of the frustrating. HL had a great season. Trust me I know how good they are. They beat the creek 3 times.
  10. I just learned that Gershom has asthma. asthma is tough on anybody let alone someone his size. he does the best he can while he is out there. i used to think that he just wasn't in shape. keep up the good work big fella.
  11. Live by the three die by the three. HL learned a valuable lesson. no plan b.
  12. Ok, good to hear that. He's a good football player.
  13. Redbaron, What happened to Jeremy young?? I noticed since Jan. he hasn't played. I'm assuming grades?? He at least gave them another post presence to sub for Henley.
  14. Good Post. For whatever reason points have been hard to come by for Whites Creek. Can't explain it. Some of the shots have been wide open easy shots, some contested. Whatever the case we better figure it out. We also had trouble against Siegels 1-2-2 half court set last time. Oden had a field day. He had 8 steals, which all lead to easy baskets(layups). Running seems to be the only way we can score. Our half court offense is not clicking on all cylinders. Luckily we have 10 days to remedy the problem.
  15. "I am saying it right now even if Siegel wins in the 1st round they will not beat both Hamilton and Raleigh Egypt" all of this hamilton and raleigh egypt bandwagon stuff is getting old. siegel has just as much potential as anybody to win it all. as does shelbyville. both have VERY strong guard play. ask hamilton about how they lost to the justin hare, kellen pickel bradley central team the last time they were at the state. The three siegel guards play well together. cutter hits threes, roper hits threes, and oden goes where he wants with the ball. i saw first hand when they beat my beloved cobras of whites creek. i will be rooting for the "creek" against siegel again. but i know it won't be easy. WC hasn't shot the ball well the last two games(against hunters lane and lavergne). hopefully we are due a breakout game against siegel. hopefully we don't give jimmy oden 8 uncontested layups again. also i hope we learned our lesson and don't get into a jawing match with oden or his dad(lol). it only fuels him.
  16. Well Greeneville is in trouble. Mooney will put all kind of pressure on the pt. guard(ball), then force the point guard to play defense as well if not fouling out trying to guard mooney.
  17. Well I am a WHites Creek fan, and no way would WC win the Palms Classic tourney in FL. Yes we beat BA, we played our best game of the year probably the last two yrs. BA beat some very good competition down in FL. THey have played a very tough schedule. Losing only twice does not put a damper on their season. Congrats to BA, regardless of what we may think personally, they have played a tough schedule. THey couldn't work out a game with siegel. On a side note they are already working on a replacement for B. Wright..........if you are from Nashville you have seen the kid play.....6'3" dunking machine(JB MS). And much like B. Wright he has some more growing to do(he'll be at least 6'7") The saga continues(to be continued............)
  18. aau teammates and top sophmores, caldwell and henley go head to head. expect a close game. HL by 5.
  19. Whites Creek will not have to double team Hassell. WC has a good post in Shanice Brown, Region 6 MVP. Whites Creek has played against McGavock's 6'3" Post Ndidi Madu, probably the best post player in the state. Whites Creek has the size to matchup with Wilson Central. Has Wilson Central seen the guards that Whites Creek has? When Wilson Central beat hillsboro it was by 12 points and an off shooting night by Jessica Mooney. I guess that falls under the rented mule rule. We'll see.....................on sat. how good W. Central and Smyrna are.
  20. Red baron you pretty much summed it up. If rouse and jordon played with henley's intensity WC would be tough to beat. HL wanted it. WC went ice cold in the second half. They were stuck on 46 for about 6 minutes. Jordon also kept getting winded and picked up two cheap fouls. One time trying to dribble drive from the top of the key(charging over yarborough). HL also got away with an awful lot of handchecking on the perimeter. BUt that doesn't excuse WC for going ice cold in the 4th quarter.
  21. Mooney had leg cramps. The key was Coffee for WC, she is the smallest player out there but that tiny girl can shoot. fuqua seemed fatigued at times. mooney did well she just didn't have much help. no one stepped up for hillsboro when mooney went out. mooney also had a few uncharacteristic turnovers and forced shots.
  22. I think overton will be good soon. they had two really outstanding freshman.(who also won the city 9th grade metro championship)
  23. So it comes down to WC vs. Hillsboro. If I was WC I would double team Mooney every time she touches the ball and shadow her with a second player when she doesn't have the ball. I would have to see how Hillsboro sets up and runs their offense with the ball out of her hands. you can't defend her at the top of the key because she can go right or left. she will get WC's perimeter players in foul trouble. they have to make the other players beat them. WC should press Hillsboro to death, Hillsboro is not that fast. WC should get out and run every chance they get.
  24. it seems like in 97 WC played PC(slay-henderson) a million times. civitan, reg. season, district, region........ Can't believe HL has so very little depth. 6 player rotation. HL does a good job of staying out of foul trouble. IF henley gets in any foul trouble they can forget it down low. Scales and Crutcher are HL two big offensive threats. Graham and Peters will have to step up big. Rouse needs to play like he did against McGavock. HL can't stop WC down low.
