  1. I clicked the e-mail button on your name on here. Right now, I'm not surprised by the score of either game, only the margin in the Marshall/Milan game. How many bulldogs has the Marshall Co. kid struck out?
  2. Yes, this is Greg. I just sent you an e-mail as a matter of fact. Thanks for the info, I'm tuning it in now.
  3. How did you find out the score Brad?
  4. Does Marshall County or Fairview have a radio station that broadcasts online?
  5. I just made signing up for CoachT Plus look easy! That's probably because it is. I am posting just to see my name with the little + beside it. Glad to be on board! What are YOU waiting on?
  6. Who chooses the players who will make these teams? Is it the coaches who are hosting the tryout? If not, how are the coaches selected?
  7. South Side 6 Lexington 2 Lexington and Bolivar are eliminated in 6AA. South Side at Milan on Wednesday for the title.
  8. West Tennessee team of 16-18s looking for a few games to fill our schedule. We are willing to come to you or play a home and home. You may e-mail me at: coachscott_17@juno.com Thanks
  9. District 12AA finished tonight in Chester County with the following results: Losers' bracket final: Bolivar 3 Chester Co. 0 Championship: South Side 4 Bolivar 1 South Side will host the regional semi-finals at 7:00 p.m. in Jackson. Bolivar will travel to the District 11AA champion at an undetermined time. Both games played on Monday
  10. In an effort to get the schedule back on track (or at least near the track), here is today's schedule (weather permitting) -- Wed., May 7 at Chester Co. 7:00 -- Chester Co. vs. South Side (winners' bracket final) at Bolivar 5:00 -- McNairy vs. Humboldt (losers' bracket) 7:15 -- Bolivar vs. McN/Hum winner If these games can be played, then the district will be down to three teams after today: one with no losses (and a regional spot), and two in the losers' bracket final.
  11. How is the rest of this tournament shaping up? I know that Milan will be in the championship now and Lexington will be in the loser's bracket final, but how has the rest of the district (McKenzie, Riverside, Camden) fared? Are there going to be games today in Milan?
  12. Please let me know about any weekend tournaments for high school travel teams this summer. Our schedule still has a couple of weekends open.
  13. Humboldt defeated the Chargers in Martin this afternoon by a score of 8-4. A strong five innings from junior Doug Loeffel, followed with the varsity debut of freshman Brandon Moore held the Chargers at bay. Junior Brett Adams closed the door in the seventh. Judson Powers and Drew Reasons each rapped out a couple of hits for Humboldt, while Loeffel helped his own cause with a bases-loaded double in the 4th.
  14. Humboldt broke a losing streak with an 8-4 victory over the Ripley Tigers tonight in Humboldt. The Vikings got an oustanding performance on the hill from junior Judson Powers, who pushes his record to 4-2. Junior Drew Reasons entered in the bottom of the 6th with the bases loaded and got out of the jam. He finished the 7th to pick up his first save of the season. Humboldt improves to 10-18, while Ripley is now 24-7.
  15. There will be one of two positions open in Humboldt for the 2003-2004 school year: Head girls' basketball coach and possibly the assistant position as well. If they go outside the system for a head coach, then the current assistant will remain. If she gets the head job, then the assistant's position will obviously open up.
  16. From an opposing coach's standpoint, I can tell you that Newman is a pitcher you'd rather not face. He is indeed a "gamer" and will step up when necessary. He throws an OK change and a decent slider, and has enough hop on the fastball to sneak it by you when you're starting to guess. You really have to zone in and keep the hands back. Probably the best pitcher in 12AA.
  17. Probably Monday's game was postponed, but did these two teams play on Tuesday? If so, one game or two and who won? Thanks.
  18. Please give Jackson South Side a look in AA. They are 16-3 with losses coming to JCM, Humboldt, and Henry Co., all quality teams.
  19. Kelsey has just finished playing the last three years at Northwestern Oklahoma (NWO), an NAIA school in OK. He is currently staying in shape, working out, and preparing for some NFL combines for the upcoming draft. Keep your eyes on the draft. Averaged about 9 to 10 yds. per carry for NWO.
  20. South Side and Humboldt played two district games on Monday at Humboldt, splitting the two. South Side won game one behind Will Deaton, who hit a three-run homer to give them the lead for good in the fifth, and threw seven innings as the Hawks won 9-5. Jonathan Wynn homered and took the loss for Humboldt. In game two, Humboldt used a 6-run third, 5-run fourth, and 4-run fifth to win the game 15-0 in five innings. All but one Viking starter had a hit, and Tyler Johnson and Doug Loeffel added three each. Loeffel also went all five innings, picking up the win. These two teams also played on Tuesday night in a non-district affecting game, with South Side winning a lopsided score 12-2. An 11-run third inning broke Humboldt's momentum built from grabbing a 2-0 lead. Tyler Johnson pitched for Humboldt, while Chris Russell went the distance for the Hawks.
  21. In the annual SportsPlus Tournament in Jackson, Davidson Academy defeated North Side last night 3-2 to move to the semifinals. Now, DA plays JCS at 5:45 and the winner will face either JCM or South Side at 8:00. Good luck to all teams.

How is it that the defending champs get no looks in the state poll? Did they graduate everything? I'm in West TN, so I really don't know. . just curious. Thanks!
  23. Please update on what all happened in Jackson today at the Sports Plus Baseball Tournament. Here are a couple of scores: North Side 10 Humboldt 1 Humboldt 9 Trenton 8
  24. Great job representing the west this year by Greenfield, Haywood, Ridgeway, South Side, Mitchell, Hamilton, and White Station. Final tally will look more like this: A: Greenfield (who knew?) AA: Ridgeway AAA: White Station Sweep. Good luck and congrats to all the teams. West, east, and middle alike.
