A little added revenge last night in response to the classless act by Pat's freshman coach Thursday night.

TSSAA has thought of a new way to make themselves more money.

I coached high school and college for over 20 years and have used yelling as a motivational tool but also if a player can learn to deal with that pressure during practice then when they go to the free throw line with 5 seconds left and the score tied their knees won't be weak. Since I stopped coaching the kids that I hear from the most are ones that I was hardest on. This includes male and female athletes. I can remember one time in practice years ago where I asked one young lady if she was stupid. She got mad as I expected and played even worse for a few minutes. When we took a break she came over and said "That was a question wasn't it?" I said yes and she said the answer is NO and I will stop making the same mistakes over and over. Today she is married and has 3 kids and still goes out of her way to talk to me when she sees me in town. I would not have used that tactic on all girls but I knew she was smart enough to figure it out. The only problem was with other girls and their parents as a few could not believe I called her stupid. Many people hear what they want instead of listening to the meaning of words and how they are used. Her parents had no problem because their daughter understood the end result. It depends on the way things are said, the reasoning behind it and whether the player will benefit from the tactic as wheather it should be used.

The opposite is also used. Tennis balls are firmly thrown to players from 15-20 feet. They must learn to give with their hands or the ball will bounce off. They catch with each hand successfully 20 times in a row.

Be a man and go tell Coach Aric what you think or just hide behind the internet.

As i said before Coach Alexander recommened Coach Aric to take. Think I will take his word for it.

State tourney MVP and recent commit to U. of Alabama-Tierney Jenkins in AAA

Mr. Mayfield coached in Oklahoma and was the AD/Asst. principal at WCHS last year. Coach Alexander recommended Coach Aric for the job.

Mr. Mayfield is a former coach and has been to every game that I have been.

He falsified records to get job and once people find out his true character he is gone. Unfortunately school systems do not share information.

Bluetick you do not want to go there about recruiting. A young lady who played basketball at LHS a few years ago was zoned to Watertown and 2 of your better football players are zoned to WCHS. All of those kids and the ones at Central did what was necessary to go where they wanted. The TSSAA does not care at all where a kid goes to high school and has stated many times that a kid entering high school is a free agent as far as they are concerned. Even the coach of the school they are zoned to by the local municipality cannot contact individual players until they enroll at that school. Only after a kid enters high school does the TSSAA have jurisdiction.

Why don't you create a computer game with high school girls teams and play a tourney. Throw in some teams from various states and have a national tourney.

The TSSAA will allow any school to move up in classification. If they can compete in AAA, move up.

I am a former assistant to both Brandons and they have a great deal of respect for Smyrna as we are all good friends with Coach Willey. Harry and Campbell had many late night sessions even after games in which they played each other so nothing but respect there. Unless someone has a school name in their handle,and even that may be incorrect, just how do you know which posters are affiliated with which school. If all of your impressions of fans or schools are based on this website then you are very likely wrong about what you perceive to be true.

Mailman if you don't think members of the WC coaching staff haven't lost games in order to improve their chances to get to the state tourny then you do not know their history very well. Any coach would if it gave their girls an easier route to the sub-state. The goal is to get to the state tourney and if the district championship has to be sacrificed so be it. Who now has the easier route to the regional finals which is the goal? Smyrna has the easier path although it is not guaranteed.

I did not say Smyrna lost intentionally. If you look there is a ? mark in my statement and for those who have a hard time deciphering the English language that means it is a possibility but not fact. I assure you as soon as the outcome was determined the first thought of the WC coaching staff was ####.
