  1. Tim, you are nothing if not consisent. Maybe you should save your keystrokes for the Portland game post. You may need to post a few more "Devils win" to scare the Panthers into waving the white flag.
  2. http://greenbrierbobcats.blogspot.com/
  3. Thanks for the pick. We can only hope that this thing will get back on track. All I know is I wouldn't want to be a Bobcat (or a Blue Devil) player come practice time today. Those will be some tired little puppies once Williams and Porter gets a hold of them.
  4. Hoping the Cats will find a way to make adjustments to mistakes in the last two weeks. Friday night was very evident that these boys are still trying to find their identity as the 2006 Bobcats. Granted I am not on the field, and have no perception of what it is like to play QB, but the plan on Friday was not working at all. The coaches have to go to the drawing table and figure out the best fit, and in a hurry. I guess when you've had the recent seasons that we've had the fans just get to "expect" it continue. But these boys know what it is to win. And they can start from here and do it. Go Cats!
  5. I'm not quite sure how to take that. ? To the MC posters, I had the same misinformation, but I think it was because I am leary of Nashville and all the news about crime. This is a good football team, and although you might feel intimidated, I would be more worried about what the team might do the the Tigers (on the field) than what may happen on your way from the parking lot. Good luck to both teams.
  6. To hopefully answer your question-- This was posted on the Lipscomb/Goodpasture board message #25: "Dale Binkley was injured in Lipscomb's first scrimmage against White House. He has a knee injury - not sure exactly when he'll return. That injury really was a tough one for the Mustangs because Binkley is a great OLB, and the injury forced Lipscomb to utilize Matt Elrod on both sides of the ball. Congrats to Goodpasture. Mustangs should bounce back next week and begin their win streak for 06. " Following was a message from Vandy1 stating "injuries are not discussed prior to a game". Guess we'll see whether he plays when we get there.
  7. Great season opener. It seemed to me that the Cats fans need to knock the rust off and get a little more fired up, but then it seems the first game is always a little apprehensive after coming off a great season. These Cats did fine. They held their own for almost two complete quarters and there was more passing in this game than we did all season last year, I think. I for one am glad to see the passing game open up. To GB #21, I wish I had a video of that catch--that was unbelievable! The Cats came back strong in a hurry up situation and were very impressive. I agree that this team will be a strong contender for a 4th straight Region Title. Keep working hard. We BELIEVE. Sigh. If only that sportsmanship would have carried on after the game with a certain female Knights fan. Head bobbing and finger wagging in the face of hosting fans and players is not cool. Someone at PJP2 needs to focus on something a little more golden than Tate---and practice the Golden Rule.
  8. Again Greenbrier is "aka "Underdog". We know what that means.
  9. Sums it up just about right.......gee, that makes me anxious for that good ole' Greenbrier Friday night fever.
  10. Hey now! I've been working all week on how to get enough cars to SHUTTLE those PJP2 fans from Ridgetop to Bobcat Field.. .. Seriously, good luck to both teams! Here's to an injury-free, hard-hitting game! Also......to kick off the football season......for all the YOUTH in Greenbrier....there will be an POST-GAME PARTY in the Greenbrier First Baptist Church parking lot immediately following the game. There will be games, music and fun! Join in! Go Big GREEN !
  11. The Cats have been full of heartstopping surprises the last few years. Hopefully, they will keep it going
  12. As was said before, WH won only the first playoff game, and got no further, and nothing to show for it except saying you played ND.. For me this debate is over---I think you're just miffed your "games in a row" record got broken and your "streak" is back at 1. You can say "years in a row", but the fact is you most of Mid-TN watched GB beat WH last year on CSS. Hope you learn to deal with that since you clearly were embarrassed to lose to a "no tradition" team. WE know what we have at Greenbrier, and we're as proud as you "BDP'ers." Sorry, but you didn't patent "pride".
  13. You really get worked up over Greenbrier it seems. I am just curious...when did White House start claiming they were the ONLY school with "tradition"? Step down off your high horse. The season hasn't started even started yet.
  14. Marlborored Man, the games are being played at MTSU in Murfreesboro. Check TSSAA.org for the info on prices. They are also being shown on WUXP on cable.
  15. Congrats to Ladd. No harm meant but I have to agree with Charlie Murphey that when seeing the news report on the Mr. Football award, I was surprised at how small Ladd looked compared to some of the other winners. I've seen on the field but without pads it was a noticeable contrast to me. Just curious if anyone knows if there is a "favored" college for WH grads in general. I know at one time most looked at WKU. No reason for the question, just wondering. I have one at APSU and I know that there have been an influx of Greenbrier grads there.
  16. Way to go, guys! Everyone on the list deserves it. You were all amazing to watch this year. Great ball players that have a lot of grit. Hats off to Justin Pigg! Bored during yesterday's Titans game and watched the end of that CSS replay again. That Play of the Game is a Greenbrier classic. And hats off to Kirk Williams. One classy coach.
  17. Well here I am Charlie. Most of the "faithful" White House fans are probably packing their cars to head to Chattanooga, while I, a Greenbrier fan, can hopefully answer your question. The growing community of White House actually is divided down the middle by Hwy 31W, the county line between Sumner and Robertson Counties. For more years than I've been alive, Robertson and Sumner have shared the education of the kids from this area. Robertson would educate the children from K-6 and Sumner County would do so from 7-12 regardless of which county the kids lived in. I don't know the ends and outs of the exact dollar amounts but it worked out for years and years. Somewhere recently the politics began to get messed up when Sumner built their own elementary school and no longer actually "needed" Robertson's elementary. The two Robertson County elementaries, Robert F. Woodall (K-2) and White House Elementary (3-5) then had to make adjustments to accomodate the Robertson high school-age students. Woodall reverted to taking in K-5 and White House Elementary remodeled/added on to became the new White House Heritage High School that houses 6-12. They did allow the children from either side to pay to go across the county lines to school, but I'm not sure how that works now, because my kids aren't affected. White House Heritage plays football on the same stadium with White House and they share the city park field, although not very happily from what I hear. The Jr. Pro teams are filtered through the City Parks from my understanding but then as the kids grow they go into their respective high school sports program. It has been a hard adjustment for White House citizens and everyone pretty much agreed that it's not fair to the kids or the community. Now that it's happened, I don't foresee it changing back, and therefore it seems to cause animosity between the city with two schools. Someone may correct me, and I may be wrong on some of this, but I've been near White House all my life, in fact my oldest child attended White House until we built a home in Greenbrier over a decade ago, a move that our kids and family have loved and have no regrets. Which goes to show, I guess at some point in most everyone's life, you become a (trans)"plant" and loyalty is where the heart is. From what I've read, there are many avid BDP fans that can attest to this. Charlie, hopefully this will help clear things up. To the White House fans that feel this is inaccurate, I apologize.
  18. Great kids they are, indeed. I've been closer to a few of them than the others, but in a close-knit community like this, by season's end we cheer for each one of them like they're our own. It was an awesome sight to see virtually a community waiting outside the locker room last Friday and to have a long applause when they emerged. I did read your post in early season and we weren't as sure as you seemed to be, but sometimes we can't see the intangible legacy that has been left by classes before. This was a great team, including the Seniors and we can only look forward to more classes like this one to come! I made a couple of corrections, and there are 11 instead of 10. Just one more to follow the footsteps of.
  19. GreenbrierFBall, Thanks, I wasn't sure about Dustin because I was going by memory with the help of an old roster. I don't know how I forgot Josh though, he put added points to all those wins! Again, we can't say enough about this team. I sure am going to miss watching all of you play.
  20. Although the Greenbrier Bobcats have played their last game for the season, they have surpassed our expectations, and have come away with a season full of memorable moments on the football field. Last year's Greenbrier team passed on lessons, experience and a legacy that this year's team of new Seniors leaders did not let go of. This team and all it's Senior players have made this community, school and staff so very proud. We love ya, Cats! Way to go. 2006 Senior Class Football Players of Greenbrier High 2 Justin Pigg WB-LB 12 Troy Dill FB-DE 15 Geoffrey Sanders SE-LB 17 Kyle Herndon QB-DB 24 Jeremiah Roberts SE-DB 27 Josh Suter K 54 Dale Krisle C-LB 67 Devan Robertson G-DT 73 Jim Sorrells OT-DE 82 Zach Reasoner TE-DE 83 Joe Dan Cornette SE-DB These Seniors have lead their Bobcat team in season wins against the likes of David Lipscomb (12-7), DeKalb County (46-7), Marshall County (20-14), Station Camp (34-0), Sycamore (19-0), Pearl Cohn (7-0) Macon County (28-17) and White House (20-10). The two season losses were to PJPII and Cheatham County. Greenbrier's seniors exit with 40 wins, the most in school history, and one of the most surprising seasons in Greenbrier. This Senior team has also been part of the 2003 and 2004 5-3A Region Champs, as well as the 2005 4-3A Region Champs, and part of the 2004 AAA State Finalist team. Again, way to go guys. You've done Greenbrier PROUD and YOU ARE THE ONES!!
  21. Good luck Jo Byrns... I'm going to try to get to this game, too. Will have my Greenbrier hoodie on, but we will be pulling for JBS! Go Red Devils!
  22. Awesome game tonight. Nice catch. Can't wait to see you play next year...
  23. The season pass holder parking is in the fenced in area behind the vistor side. People do tailgating at the trucks/cars, etc. There are some older people that can't cliimb the bleachers that park there so they can see. If the cars are left vacant, cars get used as park benches or vandalized by visitors so some Greenbrier people stay near their vehicles. No rules against being on the other side...if so some of WH people wouldn't have been sitting with us.
  24. I SAID I would be taken as "bitter" by White House fans, but I'm just giving my prediction like everyone else. What is it with you guys? If someone doesn't make you the pick, you think they're whining. You won. Game over at Greenbrier. This is about how I think the game will turn out at Notre Dame. If you won't like anyone that picks against you, you're gonna not like a whole lot of people.
  25. I've been hearing about Notre Dame since the beginning of the playoffs. Friends from Macon told me about their game, and they say Notre Dame is a great team. Undefeated, I would say so....and their defense is obvious. They don't allow much from their opponents. If I say what I think, White House is just going to think I'm "bitter" too I guess. I think if we had beaten White House, we probably wouldn't have made it past Notre Dame. After seeing the WH-GB game tonight, White House just outscored us by one touchdown in the last few seconds of the game. If their defense shuts Ricky Ladd down or holds him to a minimum, they will win. Blue gives most everything to Ladd. Not "bitter"...just think Notre Dame will keep rolling, and White House will be done next week.
