  1. I didn't bother responding to that post...lol
  2. I really don't think several years down the road will be a factor...lol
  3. It's a little different when you are on the sidelines listening to offensive and defensive calls. I don't think Maynord was too happy about it. If he does run it up on the U...their DC is to blame.
  4. geo...ever the optomist...lol
  5. No doubt. Jennings has to stay healthy. He has been banged up in the past. He runs a lot...so that puts him at more risk.
  6. I would think he has already chosen baseball. He is a great athlete.
  7. Seeing Bowling Green is probably worth the price of admission. They are the best 5a team in KY.
  8. It will certainly be a close game as it usually is.
  9. Jennings is playing baseball at Ole Miss. He could play football at a high level also.
  10. Smith County plays Trousdale County varsity and jv. I think Bowling Green and Station Camp will also be there. BG is loaded...and they got Justice Dingle from Oakland. Not sure who else is playing.
  11. Most rural schools like ours don't pay much. That will limit the candidates quite a bit.

She played for the high school as an 8th grader. That was before the middle school was built. I think Redmon graduated in 2004.

The best Dekalb pitcher was probably the Barnes girl.. She could bring it...and was left handed. There have been some pretty good pitchers in the district. Hull pitching the U to the title game was a very good one. Anderson that pitched for YAI for one year (2003) was tough. She pitched at Austin Peay. Curtis for LA was really good for 4 years (1997--2000) or so. She pitched at Cumberland before being injured. Tackett was good at the U. She was only in the district for 2 years. She pitched at Cumberland. Morris at SC (1999-2003) was all district 5 times. She pitched at Bethel...all conference every year. Wakefield & Pyburn from SC both played at Lambuth 4 years. Redmon from DC pitched at Maryville all 4 years. All of those pitchers won district titles. Some won a couple. .

I certainly think he is HOF worthy. He has never really had a dominant pitcher. He has had some good ones...but not that title winning dominant one. He has had some great teams with average talent. He can coach.

    Yes...it is their best finish.

This is Dekalb's best finish. The U was runners up to Goodpasture in 2012.

Umpires anywhere rarely call it unless the opposing coach calls it to their attention. I am sure the opposing coaches at the tourney read coacht...lol.

I call it flying instead of leaping. Leaping is legal if your toe stays in contact with the ground. Flying is not a big advantage anyway. Replanting is more of an advantage.

Almost every team that has won a title has one dominant pitcher.
  20. All of them are. We had a girl from here that played for Rhodes.
  21. I edited the post...but consider DIII. University of the South...Rhodes...Centre...Maryville.
  22. With those grades and accomplishments they can play somewhere. Don't rule out JC or NAIA schools. You can get a great education at a NAIA school as most all are private. JC can be a path to a DI school also. Also...with those scores DIII is a good route even though it is nonscholarship. They are very creative in coming up with the money.
