  1. this poll is about as useful as ###### on a bore. uh, ohio st was ranked 12th in the pre-season poll last yr and they win the national championship. oh, what is your score on a standard IQ test? 80 sounds about right.
  2. jeff will win this one by as many points as they feel necessary. what jeff needs to do is polish their depth, particularly in the secondary. they also need to tone their passing game a bit. i would like to see parker throw 15 times, using brown, acuff, cantrell, and the running backs. anyways, jeff co 55 cambell co 6.
  3. riverdale 52 smyrna 28 (smyrna leads at the half by 21-10; riverdale scores 42 in the second half) blackman 41 siegel 14 (blackman wants blood and will get it) gallatin 24 glencliff 17 ( a close game that shouldn't be) lebanon 20 wilson central 13 ( central is getting close to that win, maybe next yr) white house 33 sprinfield 24 (i don't know too much about these two teams, so i decided to let logic decide this one) lavergne 34 oakland 28 (this is the upset of the week. the patriot defense will lose all confidence after this game and will finish 5th in the region and a final record of 3-7 or 4-6) heck, with a break or two central might just earn a region win this yr, not likely though. please, oakland2001, hold the temper. i'm not trying to make you mad; i'm just calling it the way i see it. pay carefully attention to how i called these games, and then you will realize that i know my stuff. 4. the game will be close for about 3 1/2 qtrs, with riverdale leading something like 24-21. riverdale will finally open a 10-14 pt lead and add a couple of tds to make the score look not so close. my pick: riverdale 52-28
  5. you are right. jeff co had been averaging 45-50 players until last yr. why? bad coaches from top to bottom. kisabeth leaves and the school hires a great head coach (meadows). what happens? they fielded 60 players last yr, and this yr meadows cleans house and brings in new asst. coaches and 73 players are now on the roster.
  6. uh, don't make promises you can't keep. i don't. jeff co 24 west 7
  7. we shall see when december rolls around. oh, jeff co has 71 players on its roster and will use about 30-35 of them in each game. in our first game, we defeated a pretty good rhea co team 32-13 and didn't have one player go down with cramps. in short, we are ready.
  8. one player making a huge difference, right??? you are really--uh, i really see no need to say such things. oakland is weak, very weak. jeff co would destroy them too within 2 qtrs. go hide and try to come back in a couple of yrs because it's not happening this yr.
  9. bearden has a pretty good running game, but DB's defense is just too fast. anyways, DB 14-7 at the half, with DB running away in the 4th for a final of 35-14. as for DB not overlooking anyone, just remember the opening round of the play-offs with WB 2 yrs ago. DB should have won that game by 3-4 tds. oh, the big matchup between jeff and DB is around the corner. after watching jeff dismantle rhea co, i'm even more convinced that jeff will destroy the indians.
  10. uh, watched two scrimmages; also i watched them play volunteer & greeneville in the jamboree. in all four showings their offense looked horrible.
  11. how can west possibly score 24, maybe against d crockett, cherokee, etc... but there is no way that they can score 3 tds against any quality team. they have no offense, period.
  12. this yr will be woods worst offense. i hate to say it--but their offense is in serious trouble. they have no execution, no consistency, and no playmakers. cleveland wins this one with ease 21-7. the score won't tell the story; west gets on the scoreboard late in the game. west might finish 7-3 due to their very weak conference games, but there is NO WAY they can beat cleveland, jeff co, and maryville. furthermore, none of these three games will be close. jeff 40 west 14; maryville 31 west 7, and that is being conservative.
  13. that is all they have is history. these dumb hillbilly DB fans think you can field a team that is the school's worst in 20 yrs and win on the power of suggestion. right, not. DB will easily lose 3-4 games this yr and will not compete for the region championship. i hope you can help add another loss to DB. heck, they might even have a losing season. but make no mistake about it--there reign in region 1 is over!
  14. we shall see who the idot is after week 4. face the facts! DB has nothing this yr. i promise you even if by some weird luck they beat jeff they are not going to win region 1 this yr. jeff. co., science hill, and bearden have looked much better than DB so far. i talked to several morr. west fans last night and they all agreed that science hill is much better than DB and heard the same about bearden being better than DB. and there is no doubt that jeff is much, much better than DB this yr.thank God DB's reign is over.
  15. scooter houston, rb & fs, did not play, but he will be back in time for game 1. if played last night, there is no way #4 would have even came close to catching that first pass. jeff scores 21 points in one qtr and the points were not on big plays. what does that tell you?
  16. hey, DB has yet to win or looked good in any of its scrimmages. they tied with halls 2-2; got beat badly by morr. west, and lost last night against maryville. wow, that says a ton. first, jeff co. destroyed halls; they probably had 400 yds rushing. second, west ran all over DB's defense. and maryville does the same--means nothing. the only thing that will save DB from a losing season is their weak, weak schedule outside the conference. they will have to fight very hard to finish 3rd or 4th. there is no way that they will be able to compete with jeff. co. this yr. heck, i'm probably going to adventure to maryville to watch morr. west and maryville play instead of watching jeff beat DB by 4-5 tds. as for maryville, they are not as talented as central and are not as quick as central. any expert that watches these two teams on tape would definitely favor the bobcats. however, maryville has the better coaching staff, and the game is played in week 8, right? so with that being the case it's way too early to tell who will win this one.
  17. halls will be fine. they played a team tonight that is on a mission that will lead them to glory. i don't remember a time when any jeff co team played with so much effort in a scrimmage, not even that glorious 87 team. what was halls to do? you have 4-6 running backs that can run well (jennings, carson, hoover, shiverdecker, huskey, and houston who didn't play) and an offensive line that is really beginning to execute. come and get some DB & morr. west. i talk to several knowledgable halls fans, and they all agreed that jeff would destroy DB. oh, jennings ran well, but carson looked better of all rb's. wow, wait till houston is back!
  18. jordan, i wish you the best. but from what i seen at the anderson co scrimmage in the spring your offense didn't show much. in a scrimmage, i look for physicalness, raw talent, and a good work ethic, not a score. for example, the 87 jeff co squad was beaten by not knox central in a scrimmage 5 tds to noone. but what happened in the regular season--don't need to go there. anyways, west has alot of talent and physicalness on defense; however, their work ethic is not as good as last yr. i don't know what it is. maybe they think their defense is that good. well, as for their offense, i see no talent, saving for you, rucker, and the tight-end. dude, is that the best qb you all have? where is the wr's? where is some depth at rb? who is that slow, slow center? in short, you all have a ton of work to do on offense if you are to even finish 7-3.
  19. have alot to say. west is finished. i've seen them scrimmage and seen jeff scrimmage. and has of right now jeff would kill them. however, jeff probably wouldn't score alot of points, something like 28-7. i'll say it again--west has no offense at all. the only thing they have is rucker; remember what happened to jeff when they only had ricky upton. granted, west has a good defense, but if they don't find some offense in a hurry they are in serious trouble. as for james #25, he didn't impress at all. he is weak and is afraid to make contact with the defense. if that is the best you have besides rucker, you're in serious, serious trouble. oh, and that qb, man, i don't won't to make him feel any worse than he probably already does. jordan, i hate to break your heart, but if you want a championship you will have to get one in college. cuz it will not happen this yr, and you are a senior.
  20. dude, your in for a rude awakening. west will not be a good rushing team now or by the end of the yr. furthermore, they will not have a good passing game either. however, their defense looks solid. who is going to help out rucker? james bradley? haaaaaaaaaaaaaaa. dude, from what i've heard the past couple of days, you all have no offense. if this is so, jeff co is going to kill you all this yr.
  21. well said. i agree with your argument about breaking long losin skids to a team. in 96, jeff went to the clinic bowl but couldn't beat DB in the regular season. who knows maybe they will lose to DB in the regular season again and then DB is ousted early in the playoffs and jeff goes on and brings home the goldball. however, i believe this is the year that jeff just MIGHT end DB's reign over them.
  22. here's a new topic: which teams have the most dedicated fans and which fans are the most disrespectful toward the other team's fans? my opinion: most dedicated--maryville, DB, riverdale, greeneville, lincoln co most disrespectful--DB, cleveland, cocke co, morr. west, oakland this is only an opinion and the teams are in order.
  23. i respect your opinion. but what do you think about jeff's progress? they went from going 3-7 for three years to finishing very strong last yr at 9-4. also, they lost to DB in week 3 and in the qtr finals. they improved tremendously from the first time they met DB in week 3 to the qtr finals. in the first game there was never no doubt who the better team was, DB. however, in the qtr finals, the game was not decided until late and could have went either way, but i do believe DB was slightly better. as for as DB having speed this yr, they don't. in the past DB has always had more speed than jeff, but that is not the case this yr. maybe i'm wrong, but i think jeff has turned their program around, and they have a great senior squad that has stayed intact. now, in your opinion, does this give jeff a good shot at beating DB this year? oh, thanks for not questioning my general intelligence by saying i'm an idiot or dumb.
  24. i would like all members to read my last post on "state championships and who it will be." please tell me why my take is so irrational.
  25. o.k. put aside your personal feelings about me and examine jeff co's potential to win region 1. break it down according to what they have. they have a great young coach who has been very successful in the past and is a great motivator. they have talent and speed galore. the seniors had a great run in middle school and when they were freshman. these seniors have stuck together and matured by the end of last year. these seniors have a great attitude and work ethic. they whipped DB with ease when they were freshman, which was the first time any jeff team has beaten a DB team. the only opinion i will give is that great senior leadership usually leads a team to having a banner year. o.k. bud that is the criteria; now would you please give me your unbias thoughts and reasons of why you think jeff has no chance of beating DB and winning region 1?
