  1. I have read this thread with much interest and have just a couple of thoughts. I find it interesting that the word "cheat" is used so often. There is a difference between cheating and playing dirty. If you flop or pull shorts I do not consider that cheating - it's part of the game. If a basketball player commits a foul but the referee fails to call it, is that cheating? A player in any sport will try to get away with only what the official will let him.
  2. You may be right, but Brad is definitely not a midfielder. He is a great athlete but playing midfield is not his position.
  3. All state teams have much more credibility than the midstate team. The all state team is voted on by coaches from each region. The midstate team is more of a writers team with some imput from coaches. Writers tend to pick players only from winning teams. There were several players last year that signed D1 but were not on a good high school team and were left completely off of the midstate team but made the all state team.
  4. Section 10, Article 4 paragraph 2.
  5. All state teams are usually named in July or August. Midstate teams are named in June.
  6. Yeah..but you will never catch us!!
  7. As a sophomore I don't know about Corbin being the best but he certainly will be by the time he finishes. It looks like BA is starting a run on keepers!
  8. Accusations like this are getting old. We've been discussing this on this board for years and to date no one has presented any proof. If you have proof to back your accusations then present it. Otherwise .....................................!!
  9. I think there is a lot of truth to both answers.

    LC over CAK

If you are going to get on here to talk about the game, at least give the score.
  11. I'm pretty sure it is 7:00.
  12. Do you really want to try to play nine games on the same field over two, maybe three days? One of the complaints earlier in the thread was that, aside from the stadium, the fields are overused. Another suggestion that a lot of people seemed to agree with was not having more than two consecutive games on any given field. The problems lasty year was not nine games in 2 or 3 days. The fields are plenty good enough to take it. The fields being over used stems much further back into the spring. These fields are used weekly for league games. Add that to the fact we had a very wet spring last year, the fields never had the time to recover. Actually, I think the fields were in great shape considering what the went through. My biggest complaint last year was having games played at the same time. I talked to Ronnie Carter about it and he said they had several complaints and would make some changes this year.
  13. cneagles Just out of curiosity. How many financial aid students do you think a BA or MBA has playing football?
  14. You guys need to get over the fact that the scoreboards will not be in use. If you play travel soccer you know that there are never scoreboards available even on some of the nicer fields. Yes, Mike Rose does get a lot of play, but they are still some of the nicest fields in the state. Be grateful for what you have.
  15. Check on redoubt soccer on the web. You should find info there.
  16. You are correct. There is no transformer in place for the scoreboards. So unless something has changed very recently they will not be working this year.
  17. What time is the game today? Where?
  18. What happened? Something must be wrong. This is Ryan's worst team ever and BA is much better than everyone thought. Someone from Ryan or BA give us the details.
  19. The coaching staff has done a great job. I'm glad the organization is showing some class an extending their contracts.

    RED CARD

I know of a BA player 2 or 3 years ago that received a red card and he was only out one game.

    RED CARD

We played a certain team ( to be unnamed two years ago ) where every other word was f*** or ######. It was heard from one end of the field to the other constantly throughoput the game. It wasn't directed at any one in particular. A card was never shown. There were several small chidren in attendance. Maybe by coincidence the TSSAA started coming down hard on language the next year. Do we need to tell parents not to bring 8 & 10 year olds to hs soccer games? Also, if you are a high school ref and do not call what the TSSAA says should be a yellow card you should not be allowed to officiate. The only exception would be if the TSSAA specifies that only language directed at a player or official be carded, which I do not believe it is. Also, I have seen more and more cards issued for language in travel soccer. In most cases if it is said where only the players on the field can here nothing is done. This critera is used by several high school refs also which I do not have a problem with.
  22. I've been hesitant to bring this up, but I have been keeping up with this thread most everyday. Have you ever thjought about having a series of fund raisers to build you own field? That is assuming you have land to build. Now I know Brentwood is in a very affluent area but, They did just that. A group of parents started the ball rolling and thru fund raising and donations they ended up with a nice pitch. Once they got going and the administration saw what was happening, the school pitched in and helped. However, 80 -90% was done by the parents. Granted one of the parents was a landscape/civil engineer and that helped. They were able to get local suppliers to either donate items ( seed, fertilizer etc ) or sell these items at greatly reduced costs. All the labor was done by the players and their families. This took them 2 years and it might take you longer, but it will not get done unless you start it yourself. If you want a field bad enough even if its done after you leave you'll use all your energy organizing this instead of complaing about it on CoachT.
  23. I have stated this before on other threads but Ronnie Carter told me once that the accusations and problems concerning BA do not come close to the problems and resources put forth concerning Memphis. This has been going on for years and will continue as long as Memphis is widespread open zone.
  24. Tomorrow night could be the night they clinch!!!

    Ref's

You are correct. Nashville has more of a problem than east or west TN. The only games I saw last year with three was Brentwood and Franklin.
