  1. Same old Brentwood...always crying and wishing you were something you are not ... a PRIVATE SCHOOL, so keep on crying and just play the private schools like Ensworth, BA, FRA, MBA, CPA and so forth and maybe you will be happy. Plus your travel costs will go down!! GO DICKSON CO.!!
  2. Dude... give it a rest please! You still have to beat everyone you play regardless if you think they should be a #1 seed or a #8 seed. Just let the kids play football and quit trashing another school that you don't know anything about and realize they had nothing to do with were they are seeded or which district they come from. Just be happy your team is in the playoffs and not at home sitting on the couch! Good luck to you and your team!
  3. If HC plays like they have the last 2 games they win big and look out because they know how to play in big games, several big play-off wins over the last few years (state champions) and the loss to Beech was a very good ball game that they could have won if not for a few mistakes here and there (a little inexperienced on off. and def. line at first of the year). Loss to Northeast, a few key players missing that week but still a loss. I would not want to play them right now if I was in this quad and that includes Beech because those young players know how to adjust and react to game situations better now and HC has more speed than people think as well as their usual cram the ball down your throat until you show them you can stop it ball control. Experience in the play-offs means more than people think this time of the year and HC has plenty. Good luck Patriots from your 10-AAA brethren, DC!
  4. DC played with all the schools in District 11-AAA a few years back as part of a regional schedule and it was (90% of the time) always between Brentwood, Franklin and DC. Brentwood has a good football team as well as WC & MJ but don't say someone does not deserve a certain seed because you have not seen them play and know nothing about them. We do play a little football on the west side of Nashville and Williamson Co. and will play whoever the TSSAA tells us to play and you better have your helmet buckled on tight if you play us!! Go DC!!
  5. DC needs to mix up the play calling a little and hope all the injuries have healed by this Friday night. Mcgavock has speed and DC has played against teams with speed all year and done a good job (HC the exception). Should be a good game and DC needs to prepare one game at a time and I am sure coach Williams will have them ready. We will need someone to step up on defence for the injury at LB'er, starter out with broken arm against HC. DC-31 M-7!!
  6. I am talking about the last 30 years or so... not the last 5 or 6 years. We have played over those years BA, MBA, Father Ryan, Riverdale, Brentwood, Franklin, Indy, Ravenwood as well as Gallatin, Hendersonville, Beech and several others. You young football scholars need to check your facts before calling someone out on this thread and we won our district, that is why we are a number 1 seed and when you are put in a 9 team district, you only have 2 games to pick up games and Columbia is not all that bad ( state champs recently). We were playing good competition before you guys were born!!
  7. OK... just keep on thinking DC has played a weak schedule. We have to play in the district the TSSAA puts us in and have no choice in that matter. Go ahead and overlook us, we might not even make it past the first round anyway! Over the last several years, DC has played any of the private schools that would play us and several top programs from Williamson and Rutherford counties. Strength of schedule does not mean everything!!
  8. QBClubPrez, I also remember the days when DC fans showed up at all games regardless of the team we were playing and filled our side of the stadium and some of the visitor side. You have to remember that since they created Creekwood HS, that took almost 900 students and probably 45% of the fan base. If you built a new high school in HC and it being a rural community lke DC, the same would happen to the HC Patriots, your fan base would drop and your athletic teams would suffer a little. Nobody is upset or crying about DC's football team and we stand behind them 100%, just like we have since 1972 when the high school was created. I as well as many others will stand behind them win or lose, HC does not have a patent on fan support!! GO COUGARS!!
  9. Just like HC, DC stuck in 10-AAA by TSSAA with a total of nine teams. It is kind of hard to schedule any quality non district opponents when you play Creekwood just for the gate receipts and DC has played Columbia now for 30 plus yrs. and Columbia has recently won a state championship. I would also like to see DC go back to the Williamson Co. region they were in a few years ago, but I don't think that will happen because of the population explosion in Williamson county and talk of building another new high school soon they have s district with nothing but Williamson county teams.I believe that 9 teams in a district is too many, and feel the TSSAA only does this to please the Montgomery county schools and just put Springfield,HC and DC in there because they did not know we're else to put them. DC and Rossview are the only 6A schools in this district thanks to the TSSAA, not because they do not want to play another 6A school.
  10. Now see what you HC fans started, first you win the game, then you trash our field (just kidding) and then forget to turn out the lights when you leave!! (ha ha) What in the heck was in that barrell you took back home with you guys? Seriously, who cares, now not only have you beat us on the field but now you have got the band angry also. Look out now, we might have to have a battle of the bands!!
  11. Who cares who cleans up the stadium!!! I was just correcting Pats73 who claims he knows all that is going on with DC football. Sorry I even posted about this issue. Back to football, hope HC takes care of business with Rossview this week ....they have been improving every week this season but HC should take this one- HC -36 Rossview- 7
  12. Hey Pats73, I guess your facts are not as accurate as you thought either according to coachsp. I know the band cleaned up the last 2 years because the AD told them they would or lose the concession stand funds they get. Now, I did not call anyone a jerk as I quoted what a former coach use to say when I played ball a few years back and my facts are pretty straight most of the time, unlike your spelling ability!
  13. As my post said, "please correct me if I am wrong". No I was not at NE but saw the game on TV just like alot of other people and did not see HC fan base on the field during trophy presentation to NE. As you asked, I will give it a rest and wish nothing but the best to all HC Patriots. Good luck in the playoffs and next week!!
  14. Please correct me if I am wrong but I do not remember seeing your fan base in the middle of the Northeast field while they were celebrating!! It is ok to celebrate a victory against a big rival but do it in the endzone or sideline not around the host team alma mater and prayer. As an old coach told me once, "act like you have been here before", not like a jerk. Pats73, I think the band cleans the field and bleachers, not the jailbirds.( at least the band did last year). Like I said earlier HC deserved the win, the line play on both sides of the ball for HC was the difference, physically manhandled DC!! Good luck to both teams in the playoffs and I heard the DC player broke his arm in the first quarter, speedy recovery to him as well,
  15. Good luck to the Patriots also, should make plenty of noise in the playoffs. I have been telling people all season long that just because of the loss to Beech don't think that HC is lacking in pride and hunger for another state title run. The Northeast game was a fluke, if HC had all of the key plsyers playing that night, outcome would have been different. We will see you guys next year in Paris!!
  16. Good game HC...as I said earlier in the week, this game would be won in the trenches and HC whipped us on both sides of the ball. This game could have been a little closer if DC's off. coordinator would have tried to throw the ball a little more in the first half because running game not clicking thanks to HC's defense.HC won by not making mistakes and DC did!! What was up with the HC fans on the field after the game with the toilet paper? Come on people, this was not a state title game, show some class.
  17. As a wise old coach from Alabama use to say " three yards and a cloud of dust!!" This game will be won in the trench's, big ole HC boys against big ole DC boys, with a little speed around the edges to catch everyone by surprise. We might even see a little passing from both squads if the conditions are right, ( as Jerry Pearson used to say, "3 things can happen if you throw the football and 2 of them ain't good") but playing mistake and penalty free football will win this game. Good luck to both teams!
  18. Wow, all this talk about HC not being physical, not as good as years past and not at the same level as past HC teams (i assume jhall615 is talking about last years state title team) is crazy. HC coaches are preparing their team just like any other week with the special emphasis on this rivalry being for the barrell. DC playing good football right now but have not faced a team with as many athletes and toughness as HC has and coach Counce will have a game plan to match what DC does so well on both sides of the football. HC coming off a bye week is really crucial in this game as DC is a little banged up with key players nursing injuries and HC fully rested. I can't help but laugh at the new DC posters on here that think HC will not put up a real test this week. It has and will be the same old physical, hard nose, run the ball, play good defense and avoid the big mistakes football game that we always have with the HC Patriots. Good luck to both teams and hope for no injuries and safe travel for the HC faithful. DC-20 HC-17!!
  19. Jusy play Henry co. football and you guys should win this next game. Ball control, smash mouth football just like you have done for the last several years and cut out the mental mistakes and penalties. Take it one game at a time as I am sure coach Counce and his staff are telling these young men every day. I have been watching Henry Co. football for a long time (against them as a player at Dickson Co. and attending games at DC and in HC for the last 34 years) and this team is impressive when firing on all cylinders. This team could be the best bunch of "cornfed country boys"( I say that because that is what the Clarksville schools like to call HC and DC)that has come out of Paris in a while. Good luck to the Patriots from your fellow 10-AAA DC friend!
  20. Hey Red...not looking for an excuse, HC won the game on the field and all I was saying was that some of the calls (3 chop block calls on defense) were not accurate in my opinion (and alot of other people's) mainly because I was sitting on the HC side of the field as I have for the last several years because of friends and family in the area and they all said the calls were not right as well. What I do not like is the people on here who think just because HC has a very talented football team that no one else is worth a s---!! Yes this district is not so tough, but we have to play were the TSSAA puts us as well. I would rather be playing in the Williamson Co. district that we played in before being moved back to this district but hey, we do what we are told just like you guys. I know all the HC faithful on these boards are not the type to bad mouth other teams like some do but it does get a little ugly from some of your bunch, just let it be decided on the field and may the best team win!! NO excuses from this DC fan, you beat us fair and square and I really do hope you guys win it all this year, ya'll are due!!
  21. Come on man...cut blocking by the defensive player? I know it can happen but VERY RARELY called according to a family friend who has been a TSSAA official for 30+ years! Was it just me but all 3 of those cut blocking calls on the DC DEFENSIVE player were called when HC was facing a 3rd and 15 or more? HC players were a foot taller and two feet wider than most of the DC players and were holding on most every offensive play. I was there and even though it was a good game, the officiating was fair at best and some people on these boards from HC did not give DC a chance in this game and I know for sure they were sweating at the half. I forget who they were, but a few even suggested the clock would be running the whole second half! Well, DC came to play and was not intimidated by the Patriots in any way. HC is a very good football team but will need to play better than they did against DC to win it all and I hope they do! Good luck to HC in the playoffs!!
  22. Well well...only 14 to 6 Henry Co. at the half!! Could be an interesting second half if DC can stop the mistakes and the penalties and play ball control football. I do not think anyone from Henryland (maybe a select few) expected DC to come in here and play smashmouth football with them. Should be a good second half and then again it could turn out be a wake-up call for HC and they might just pour it on like they have in every other game this year. Just hope for no injuries and both teams come out OK for the playoffs!!
  23. Hey Redsquirm10, alot of people in DC could care less if you like us or not! Just worry about who HC play's this week because every once in a while someone in this "weak" district could bite the Patriot's in the rear end!! Now, DC and Springfield, mental mistakes and ball control are always the key in close games and this will be a very close game! DC 24 Jackets 20
  24. Red Warrior...I guess DC will just not show up for the game on Thursday night and let HC scrimmage against their own second string offense and defense since they are probably better than DC's no talent, no speed, no athlete football team! Come on people, do you think DC just started playing football a couple of years ago? I think our tradition is just as strong if not stronger than the mighty Patriots of HC. How many state championship gold footballs are in your school's office? Look back over the last 30 years and see that DC and HC have played pretty even in the series and you can not look at just the last 2 or 3 years and come up with a prediction like some of you have. Football is a funny game, the team with the most athletes, biggest players or fastest running back does not always win and we should just hope this game is played by the players on the field with true sportsmanship like most of the games over the last 3 or more decades!GO COUGARS!!!
  25. Redswarm10...you and the rest of Henry Co. faithful hope it goes to Northeast since they gave you a little more than you expected last week. I remember a Clarksville Wildcat team who unexpectedly took out a good Patriot team last year!! Anyway, I said last week that DC better look out for West Creek and they did not show up for the first half of that game and will say it again this week. Northeast is coming to DC and will bring an athletic team and have a chance to pull the upset if DC does not play 4 quarters of football. DC still banged up a little, some players out with injuries and needs to look at one game at a time, not get caught looking down the road at other games. This should be a good ballgame and hope the Cougars can come out on top!!
