  1. Bishop Byrne did not want to play the game in the first place. They first said that they could not afford it so BGA paid for the buses. BGA wanted to finish the game and hopfully get in the win column. I mean BGA had to go to their school with terrible facilities last year and proceeded to destroy them. To tell you how bad their school is, the scoreboard mispelled Bishop Byrne (Byrdne) and BGA which is close to four hours away had more fans than they did. I heard BGA even paid for the team's meal on the way down.
  2. BGA lost practically everybody from last year's state title team. They also have gone 1-2 in three scrimmages and have looked very inconsistent on both sides of the ball. However, they are showing signs of improvement and could be dangerous as the players continue to gain experience as long as they can stay healthy.
  3. Brandon McCall will be a surprise back from BGA in Div. II AA
  4. Troy Fleming is by far the most dominant high school football player ever. All he did was rack up over 9000 career rushing yards which is 2nd nationally. Besides leading BGA to back to back state titles, he is third nationally on the touchdown list.
  5. BGA could have whipped Centennial with or without Karl. Their defense was one of the worst BGA saw all year. Centennial was lucky to only lose 39-18. BGA was able to run all over them. Their offense was average at best with Curtis Steele being their best player by far. Bates was highly overrated. Centennial will probably beat BGA this year but they will receive a baptism by fire when they play BA first game of the season.
  6. They must have got a lot better because when BGA played them they were awful. BGA could have hung a century point total on them. The sad thing was BGAs backup running back got all the carries and all he did was rush for 406 yards.
  7. BGA has one of the best coaching staffs around. They are always in contention for the state title and always hang around in games despite the relatively low numbers. This years coaches will be Coach Moore (4-year starter at Vanderbilt), Laqngston (started at MTSU), Fleming (started at Vandy), Frank Wycheck (all-Pro tight end) and Tim Moribito (started in the NFL for about seven years). Other great coaching staffs have to be MBA, BA, Riverdale, Franklin, and Maryville.
  8. Troy Fleming-2nd nationally all-time in rushing yards, 3rd nationally in touchdowns scored-over 3000 yards as a senior-led BGA to 3 state titles
  9. BGA graduated several seniors and may be having a rebuilding year, but they are still a much better team than Fairview. BGA scrimmaged Fairview last year and scored every time they were on offense, and Fairview only got a couple of first downs. Fairview is nowhere in the same league as BGA. BA will be the best in the county again this year as they are every year. Centennial will be a distant second followed by Franklin, Brentwood, BGA, and Ravenwood (any of these teams could fall anywhere from 3 to 6).
  10. Walton didn't receive two yellows, he got what is called a "soft red card." It still carries a one game suspension just like a red card.
  11. My predictions for the Middle Region Tournament held at BGA Quarterfinals: MBA over MTCS Father Ryan over JPII (very close game, chance for a big upset) BA over USN Semifinals: BGA over BA (closer game than regular season though) MBA over Father Ryan (another potential upset special) Finals: BGA over MBA Consolation: Father Ryan over BA
  12. Middle Region Tournament BGA #1 vs. SAS #8 (BGA wins by forfeit) MBA #2 vs. MTCS #7 Father Ryan #3 vs. Pope John Paul II #6 USN # 4 vs. BA #5 (Seeds might be reversed, but I know they play each other)

I have actually played against Cox twice once when he was freshman and then again as a he was a sophomore. He probably is much better, but back then I don't think he was very good. Our gameplan actually involved running at him when he was on defense because we felt he was by far the worst linebacker. As far as offense goes, he wasn't very hard to bring down, but good luck to him this season on his college playing.
  14. BA, they are usaually the best if not a close second, year in and year out.
  15. NO itzme, BGA DID beat BA 3-2 just two days ago at BGA. I was at the game. However, BA did get its revenge by dominating the 'Cats the next day like you said 10-1.
