  3. I saw her play in the state tournament her senior year. She was very impressive...had a complete game.
  4. supaballa, you have in AA Beechboard and the girl from Livingston, but Beechboard is from Livingston.
  5. When has the MVP not come from the first place team? The district's Most Valuable Player will put his team in front of the others. That's why he is the MVP of the district.
  6. This isn't the AP Poll, right? If so, when did this come out?
  7. Beechboard had 32 for Livingston Academy, who played without Cates. Since they've beaten Clarkrange twice by 14, it's odd that they aren't in the Tennessean's Mid-State top ten.
  8. Is this game postponed for tonight?
  9. #13 also beat #5 by 10 points
  10. The MVP should and almost always does come from the first place team. There is a lot of ball to be played, but who's in first place right now? Who would you pick from that team as most valuable?
  11. I don't know about Westview, Gibson, and Obion. I'm sure they deserve to be in the top five. However, I think that Jackson Co.(10) and Livingston Academy(13) are way too low. I know anyone can beat anyone and anything can happen, but they've both beaten Oliver Springs and OS has beaten McMinn Central. Records shouldn't determine the order of rank. It seems like that comes into play too much. How many of these teams with either perfect or one-loss records would rely on their records when matched up with the five losses of either Jackson Co. or Livingston Academy? This isn't to make light of these teams with good records. Congratulations to all those listed. It's just my opinion that JC and LA should be closer to, if not in, the top five. 12. Don't count either of these teams out because one or the other lost during the season. Jackson Co. deserves credit. They were ready. LA wasn't. Someone on here said La didn't play a bad first half. Wrong, although JC had a lot to do with how terrible Livingston performed in the first half. Jackson Co. was on fire. However, good shooters should score when no one guards them. It seemed as though Jackson Co. had no trouble getting someone open in the first half. That's a combination of good offense and poor defense. LA played a decent second half and outscored JC by 10. Brown didn't seem comfortable with a 25 point lead. That's wise. JC was ready, LA wasn't. Congrats to Jackson Co. Surely LA will be more prepared and ready the next time.
  13. Since this poll, Riverdale has beaten White Co. and Cookeville has beaten Jackson Co. I think it's strange that someone has picked the best ten teams from Middle Tennessee and Livingston Academy isn't one of them. They and Jackson Co. play tomorrow night.
  14. Jackson County plays at LA this coming Friday. Let's hear some predictions. Give reasons and matchups, nothing biased. This could be the first of many between these two this year. The fun's about to begin.
  15. I base that opinion on their history as having to beat each other up several times a year. Maybe I'm superstitious, but it just seems like it's time for LA to step up and get back to the big dance. Maybe it seems like it's their turn. Even though they match up so well, I think LA has the better team, which in no way assures them a win. I think Jackson Co. will win at home and the district finals. I just don't think either team will win every time they play this year. It's gonna be interesting.
  16. But, Postplayasrock, strength of schedule comes into play. They have lost 4, but to whom? Briarcrest (two time defending D2 state champs), Dyersburg (a quick AAA team) and those were both early on. Then there's Farragut at Farragut in OT (Farragut lost to Shelbyville by 9 and McMinn Central by 4) and White County (a AAA team with lots of tradition who also knocked off Jackson Co. and has only lost to Cookeville). Who've they beaten? Some quality teams. Clarkrange, who also surprised Jackson Co., Oliver Springs, Cookeville, Coffee County, Cannon Co., and some others. Jackson County has lost 3, Oliver Springs has lost 4 or 5, Cannon Co. has lost a few. Is record everything to you? [Edited by richcoach3 on 1-3-03 7:51A]
  17. My guess is that they'll play 5 times this year. LA wins three of those five.
  18. Some of these are based on what I've seen. Some are based on what I have read and heard. I think some of the lowers could beat some of the highers at any time. Just for fun. 1. Jackson County 2. McMinn Central 3. Livingston Academy 4. Westview 5. Oliver Springs 6. Giles County 7. Ridgeway 8. Cannon County 9. Gibson County 10.Obion County [Edited by richcoach3 on 12-28-02 10:53P]
  19. 7AAWatcher..You're right. I knew that but forgot. All those numbers ran together. Thanks.
  20. There's been some talk about middle, west, and east Tennessee teams dominating. As far as AA Girls Basketball and dominance, pick up a program at the state tournament and look at the recent history. It's district 7AA. I think all this is right. -Cannon Co. won the state in 1990. -Livingston Academy won the state in 1991, 1994, and 1999. LA was runner-up in 1993, 1996, and 1998. LA lost in the semifinals in 1992, 1995, and 1997. -Jackson County won the state in 2000, 2001, and 2002. They were runner-up to LA in 1999. -Upperman was runner-up in single A in 1999, AA in 2000, and...Help me with 2001. -York - I know they went to the state in 1996. Of the last 13 years, District 7AA has won 7 state titles, had 6 state runners-up, and sent a team to the final four three more years. What other district can put up these numbers in AA? There may be teams from time to time that upset one of these teams or actually are better than them, but how often? Like I said before, Anything can happen on any night. just don't count out 7AA's top three or maybe four.
  21. It's too early for all of this, but it's fun. Jackson Co. has everyone's respect and number one spot I suppose. As far as all this talk about last year, either Livingston blew it or Jackson County was lucky. LA had them down by 9 in the fourth quarter in the regional semis. Even Jim Brown said he thought Jackson Co. was beat. Still, they went on to win it all. My point is that it doesn't matter who did what and when. Anything can happen.
  22. What was the outcome of LA's game on Wednesday?
  23. Is Livingston just decent this year? Aren't they usually above average?
  24. Livingston Academy girls are 2-2, not 2-3. They played two games in Martin. Lost to Briarcrest only once. It's posted twice on their schedule.
