After a very solid win against the Smokey Bears, we go on the road to face the Cherokees of McMinn County. I look for us to stay sharp and keep rolling with the running game with just enough passing to keep the defense honest. McMinn has struggled early; will they pull it together befor the Cats come to town?

Good game (for us) last night at the 'Ship. 6 different players combined for 7 touchdowns plus Joe Aloi added a field goal at the end of the first half to completely dominate the Smokey Bears of Sevier County. I was very pleased with the effort of our offense who really stepped it up tonight against (no kidding) an improved Sevier County team. The 4 horsemen, Leonard Blair, Spencer Gulmire, Daniel Johnson, and Zach Vane all ran well. We rushed for over 300 yards with the team piling up 435 yards of total offense. Scott had a good game passing as well. The defense had a great game forcing SC to 4 (i think) three and outs in the 1st half. Good job 'Cats on an impressive victory and shutting out a good offensive team.

7 on offensive, 8 on defense. The new guys are doing a great job of stepping up. Even though DB was able to shread our young secondary guys, I'm still pleased with the progress that has been made. Tonight will tell a lot.

Good post, Willie. Actually, the fans have been well behaved, if anyone needs to be quiet it's a couple of our players that need to stop running their mouths (fingers?). I have refrained from this thread because there is waaaaay too much football to play before we take on these 2 fine football teams. Good post! I have thought since your 1 half scrimmage against Maryville that the Smokey Bears were playing with a different attitude. Sounds to me like you all are starting to shake off the loss of students to Pigeon Forge. This should be a good hard fought game probably along the lines of the 2002 playoff game. You all have a fantastic coach in Coach Brewer, who always has a lot of nice things to say about our team. BTW, his interview this week with David Clary gets the Vince Dooley award for game week interviews. Go Cats!!

Smokey Bear fans are a little quiet this year even though their team is 3-1. I think they will try to throw it around on us, given DBs success in that area. Should be a great battle in the trenches, too. I'm looking forward to you guys playing hard and playing like champions this week. We should have a good crowd for our last home game for a month. Go Cats!!

I agree, it's time for the administration to stand up and put and end to this nonsense. Whatever you might think about Coach Meadows, nothing deserves what I have read about. There needs to be ejections from the stadium, names taken and bans placed on the "adults" who are at fault. Also, it's time for the good people in the Blount County HS community to take a stand against this behavior. If someone is sitting near you and behaving badly, tell them to stop and if they don't stop get up, go to the cops and have them thrown out. If WB is ever to have a good sports program, then the time to take a stand is now.

Rebelron and others, What is the deal with William Blount? I thought all along they were probably overhyped, but right now they are not even competing. With the talent they have at running back why can't they generate more offensive? Is the defense that bad? Given the state of things (and Maryville staying focused) I say 42-0, Maryville.

My suggestion is to start that question on another thread. I have hesitated to answer it on this thread because it would distract from the discussion on the game. Post it on its own thread and I will answer it FWIW. I would like a SC fan to break down their team by position and comment on it.

Agree! I think our guys are doing a good job of taking what is in front of them. I like where we are right now, but we need to be playing some tougher competition. I would like to hear from Smokey Bear fans about how well their team is really doing this season.

Time to get this thread started... Oak Ridge is coming off a very easy win over an improved Heritage team. Sevier County seems to be much better. Should be a tougher game than the last 2, which were blow outs. What say you?

Good to know that Oak Ridge is not the only place with village idiots. Just a hint, you support the team, which includes players, coaches, etc.
