Comer ain't leaving......I hope. He's the best thing to happen to McKenzie football is 20-30 years.
Hey, Butchie,
Back on the subject of Ward, McCaleb said there were sport teams underfinanced at McKenzie. What is she talking about? Trap team?
Butchie,
This ain't the forum to debate this issue. I agree with you.
Just hope they can find another Director ASAP for the good of MSSD.
I wouldn't take the job working under that board.
Mr Ward won't have any problem finding another job.
hardhead
The Rebels lost a lot of support when the idiot School Board didn't renew Superintendent Jim Ward's contract. Take a look at the improvements made to the football stadium.
One of the school board members that voted against Ward was also against the stadium improvements. But when she saw how good it looked, she flipped-flopped and was all in favor of it.
The McKenzie High sport fans won't find a better supporter of sports than Mr. Ward.
If he had ignored the law and allowed prayer at the football games, he would still have his job.
Here's my thoughts from an old time McKenzie fan
1. You got some bads call tonight but they didn't change the outcome of the game. S. Pittsburgh was 4 TD's better.
2. To contend for the gold ball, Coach Comer needs to schedule 2A teams like Milan and Westview.
10 or 20 years ago, who would have dreamed that McKenzie would play for the state championship!
GO REBELS!!!!!
McKenzie and Milan scrimmaged last night (Mar 4) in Milan. The gate went to the family support group for the National Guard unit from Milan and McKenzie that is serving in Iraq.
I understand it was more like a game than a scrimmage. Milan won big but that doesn't matter. Anybody know any details?
I second that, WTNbear.
Let's bring the gold football back to West Tennessee. AGAIN!
It's rightful home is in Carroll or Gibson County.
As the heroes said, "Let's Roll!"
Whoever wins in Milan tonight will bring home the gold ball next week.
DL or Alcoa has got to be nervous about facing a team with Huntingdon's or Milan's speed.
Predicting a winner ain't rocket science. Just use logic. You can figure it out yourself.
Last year this game was at Huntingdon.
It was generally recognized that Milan had the best team.
Huntingdon won.
This year the game is at Milan.
It is generally recognized that Huntingdon has the best team.
????? wins.
I understand Milan has added additional seating and Project Graduation is putting on a chili and BBQ supper. That's great.
Are they going to sell concessions on the visitor's side?
I hope the Milan Police will be in force to help traffic flow after the game.
Finally, I hope Milan will acknowledge the Milan/McKenzie National Guard unit that left last week. If you know the Milan PA announcers, call them and remind them.
See you there.
They won't have any problem adjusted to 3A. In '98 Milan won the 2A title (over Lipscomb) then won 3A next year by defeating Portland.
Good luck to David Lipscomb against Alcoa. Hope DL and Milan meets in the 'Boro.
I wasn't there either. I was listening on the radio. I think Carver had the ball around mid-field.
You're right about second-guessing the coach. I just wanted to get some discussion going.
Carver has an excellent team. They surprised Milan.
Thanks for the reply but I still don't see anything about high school football. What page?
The edition we get in NW Tennessee is probably different from the Memphis edition.
Does anyone think in the last 1:30 with a couple of timeouts, the Carver's coach should have given his star running back a couple of chance to run. All night he was almost unstoppable and broke several long runs. Instead they started passing.
Your thoughts..................
I bought a Commercial Appeal this morning to see what they said about the Milan-Carver game.
I didn't find an article or even the score of any high school playoff game and there was several Memphis teams playing last night.
Next time I'll save my 50 cents.
