Jonathan Ford, the leading scorer on the Trousdale Co. High Yellow Jackets basketball team, has been selected as a member of the National team to play for the United States in the International Basketball Tour's World Challenge Sports Tour tournament in Myrtle Beach, July 20 thru 25th. The senior is to compete in this competition for youth basketball teams from around the world. However, to be able to do this, he needs financial help; The costs involved are beyond his parents means. This is a once in a lifetime opportunity. Maybe they have changed the rules, but races have been run on Monday before. Used to listen on the radio @ work, when not run or finished on Sun. To put a little twist on Forrest Gump: NASCAR is as NASCAR does!

I agree, M.Waltrip is a "Joe Blow" driver, but he does work for DEI. He hadn't done squat before then. I have just seen too many questionable finishes for this group, including D E Sr. I have been following NASCAR since the early 60's,(listening on radio in the early years), and have seen some of the "sacred cows" get special treatment on occasion. NASCAR has always changed rules in the middle of the stream.

I agree. Stopping the 500 after 109 laps stinks! This is the biggest race of the year, not to mention the first race after all the off season work. Had there been, say, 30 laps remaining, maybe so, but 9 laps past half way? Some won't agree with this, but I believe had "Joe Blow" been leading at 109, it would not have been canceled. I have heard others on sports talk radio say the same thing. Whether this is the case or not, the Daytona 500 is too important to be canceled this short.

Gatlinburg-Pittman goes to 2A this yr. Also, Ridgeway(last yrs. champ) goes to 4A. Don't expect to see Reg.4 going to the"boro" this year. At Trousdale, we will have a good season, as usual, but not that good. I can always hope, but being realistic. Reg. 4 should be a dog fight, which is good, and will make it very interesting.

Johnny Cochrans' drive comes in two speeds: ( my opinion ) 1. Publicity 2. Money I have to believe as competitive as the NFL is in all aspects, these days, an owner is going to hire the best coach he can get, regardless! Having to interview a coach just to satisfy a rule, and having no intention whatsoever of hiring him, is ridiculous, and an insult to the coach, whether he is black or white.

Could be, but if I were Indy, I'd cool it. Kickers of this accuracy are hard to come by. Take him out behind the woodshed , get him back on track, hide his bottle, and move on. Same thing happened with Randy Moss, badmouthing everybody, etc. He's still there catching balls. On the other hand, if it turns out to be a major distraction, then they may have to cut him loose. There are a lot of teams that would be glad to get him, including my Cowboys. Maybe they're going thru "silly season" like NASCAR.LOL

Just to update Swamps' original post, Vanderjagt also got onto Dungy's case as well as Manning. There is an article in todays Tennessean Sports page( also available on the website), where Vanderjagt is apologizing to Manning, Dungy, all Colts, city of Indy, etc. He had also said Dungy was too laid back, and not a motivator. My opinion, what he said was true. So much for free speech!

Oakland 27 Tampa Bay 17 I'm not a fan of either myself. Probably would prefer to see Tampa win just because they never have, but believe the Raiders will prevail.
