  1. This is the third coach my son has had in his fourth year of basketball and Sycamore and I, like all of the senior parents are just sorry we didn't get him sooner. REGARDLESS of how this season turns out as far as wins and losses I can just tell you that Coach Farmer is and will teach these guys a whole lot more than what can be taught on the basketball court. He is a teacher of the game, but also will compliment and praise and build self esteem and self confidence in these guys. So many coaches are concerned about the win and the win only, but basketball like all high school sports goes way beyond the wins and losses. We feel very lucky that our son's are getting these lessons before they leave high school and hopefully head on to college.
  2. Freed-Hardeman did not win the national championship, but had a terrific season despite injuries the entire season. Anytime you can end a season with 30 wins you have done something right. This is a team of fantastic young ladies that have nothing to be ashamed of!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  3. You know one of the major motives for people's action is jealousy. You have a successful high school girls program with a proven and successful head coach and the first thing people do is to look for ways to tear down that program. I am sure from what I have read that the girl is ineligible and that rules were violated, but the main motivator from all of this is jealousy. My daughter played for Phil Carr for four years and I know first hand that this is probably one of the most class act programs in the state of Tennessee and other people see it and are envious and want to do something to tear it down. What I am talking about has nothing to do with right or wrong because this has been determined to be a violation of policy, but more to do with wanting to see a great program fall. I would love to see more high school coaches care as much about his players as this coach does and to do as much as he does to try to get the player to the college level if they want to be there.
  4. I think regardless of what district you are in or who your favorite high school team is that EVERYONE would agree that the refs should NEVER determine the outcome of a game and I think anyone at the Waverly that is willing to speak the truth would admit that several calls at the end could have definitely cost Sycamore the game. You can call it crying, whining or whatever you choose to call it, but the truth is the truth. The unfortunate part of it is that it is over now and won't be changed so Sycamore just has to move on from here.
  5. I would love to see a roster for this team. My daughter played on this team last year and they were fourth in the nation. Tn Elite is a great AAU organization.
  6. Not sure why so many quit, but regardless this young team came together and bonded and made quite a run. Sometimes the chemistry is just not there and that may have been the case last year.
  7. Would like to say a big "congrats" who finished second in the Tran-South conference season and also Transouth conference tournament with a record of 30-5. Without a senior on the team this is a huge accomplishment. The Lady Lions will play starting next week in the NAIA tournament at the Oman Arena in Jackson and are ranked sixth in the nation. Coach Neal and Carla Wyatt do an outstanding job with these ladies and we only can look forward and be even more excited about next season.
  8. Nobody will dispute Kara being a good player, but I think everyone would agree that she is not a good representation for the state of tn with all her boasting and holding out of her jersey and all her hand motions. Chantelle Anderson from Vandy is a great player too, but she does not do all that stuff.
  9. Every single year it is supposed to be the best team ever. How is that possible?
  10. What has happened with Amanda Austin and Jenna Baltimore on this team? Dont see either of these girls on any of the game stats. Just curious.........
  11. I read on the internet that Molly is transferring from Tech to Union Univ. Is this surprising???
  12. Yes, both of them were on this team and from what I understand got a lot of recognition from several college coaches. The Elite lost to the Tx Hawks this afternoon and finished fourth in the nation. Congrats to both Tn teams for finishing in the top 8.
  13. The Tn Elite defeated the Arkansas Mavericks this morning by close to 20 points to advance to the "Final Four". They play again at 2:30 this afternoon against the Texas Hawks. GO ELITE!!!!!!!
  14. I was told that Ashley Haynes for the Sparks got in quick foul trouble. The guards that had been doing a lot of scoring did not in this game. Stacey Bullard has played all week with a sore knee, but I think has been real steady. This is her fifth summer to go to the nationals and that makes a big difference.
  15. The Tn Elite defeated the Tn Sycamore Sparks this afternoon by a score of 67-42. This loss for the Sparks moves them down to the losers bracket while the Elite will continue on in the winners bracket until they have their first loss. Both teams had made the Sweet 16 as of Tuesday so I am not sure where the Elite stands now.
  16. The Tn Elite defeated the Tulsa Angels at 5:00pm on Monday and play the #2 team out of Michigan today at 5:00pm which is 4:00pm our time. Don't know the ending score, but the Elite were winning by about 20 at one point in the game. Rebecca Rowsey (Chester Co)seems to be drawing tremendous interest from many of the college coaches. Vandy, Tn, Georgia, Ohio State, Stanford, Ky, Illinois and several others are continuing to show up at all of the Elite's games.
  17. The Tn Elite won their morning game by defeating Houston Elite. Not sure of the score, but they play the Tulsa Angels at 5:00 PM which is 4:00 our time.
  18. You saw the games and the great attitudes of the games that the Sparks were winning. You did not see the game versus the Elite when they were losing. The terrific attitudes that you are speaking of were not so terrific, especially when the Sparks player came up pushing when it was only physical play and nothing intentional or personal. I will agree with you whole heartedly that Ashley Haynes is a great player, but there were several awesome athletes on the court. As far as last years Elite being a better team than this year you may be speaking as far as players go, but this years team is a TEAM that does not care who gets the credit and that is TRUE basketball!!!
