  1. Yeah, I don't understand why they keep Eddie George. He's just not producing yardage anymore. Other running backs do better when they do let them play, but they keep going back to George. As far as the salary cap goes, they would have been better off keeping O'Donnell and letting George go. O'Donnell was more valuable to the team anyway.
  2. Joe Longmire was a great running back. He set some records during the regular season and at the clinic bowl in 89 & 90.
  3. The Colts/Buccaneers game was awesome wasn't it. I guess if you're a Colts fan anyway, or at least a Peyton Manning fan. The momentum was going for the Buccaneers the first half and into the third quarter, the Colts were down 28-7,but in the fourth Peyton engineered several drives and tied it up with less than a minute left, score 35-35. Then, went into overtime and held the Bucaneers on their posession and then the Colts proceeded to take the ball down to about the 25 yd. line, kick a field goal and miss. Amazingly, though there was a penalty flag, and they got to kick it again and it hit just inside the right upright and went in. They said that no team had ever been down 21 pts. in the fourth quarter, I think with 4 min. left, and come back and win the game. The Colts are for real and proved that tonight.
  4. I think the Cubs will win it. Their desire to win will overcome the Marlins youth.
  5. I believe Bruceton will win this game. They are a better team than what their record shows.
  6. Hated to see the Braves lose, but am glad for the Cubs, especially since they haven't been there in "95 years". The Braves have some problems they need to get fixed, such as their pitching. I just hate to see them do so well in the regular season only to get eleminated early in the postseason. What do y'all think, is their problems in the pitching, managing, or do you think it falls in the "players desire to win" column? They could take some lessons from the Florida Marlins. They have really pulled together as a team and played well so far in the playoffs.
  7. There is nothing wrong with discussing Jr. High football here. I think it is a great opportunity to discuss and promote school sports. It's good to know about how the different schools are doing and to hear about upcoming players. I know that not all will play in high school, but a lot of them will.
  8. Thanks dabigEZ for those good comments. Your post shows that you have class. No doubt, Camden didn't play a good game tonight. We were our own worst enemy. I lost count on the turnovers, I guess we had a case of fumbleidus. I saw where Brentwood Academys Coach Carlton Flatt called in a coach to help with their fumble problems. Maybe we need to get him also. I'll give Huntingdon's defense credit though, they are strong, quick, well coached, and they did a great job stopping Camden's offense. We did not play with emotion tonight, and we were not focused at all. Well it's back to the ol' practice field to try to correct these problems. We'll have to play better than this to win against any team.
  9. I agree that Huntingdon is a very good team or they wouldn't be 5-0 and 2nd in the state. We are a good team and getting better each week. And it'll take playing teams like Huntingdon to make us better. I'm not predicting a score, but I'm sticking with our team and pulling for an upset tonight. GO LIONS!!!!!
  10. I think the coaches are doing a great job for the Camden Lions football team. I don't know where Vols3480 is getting his info, but I don't think Coach Ward would have gotten Coach Vassar to help him if he didn't know football or wasn't a good coach. The Coaches and the team are working great together, and improving each game. Camden plays Huntingdon tonight at Huntingdon. Hope the Lions have a great game. GO LIONS!!!!!!CAMDEN LIONS
  11. Camden Jr. High has won all their games so far this season. They won last week at Huntingdon and won tonight against Lakewood (Paris School). Go Lions!!!!!!!!
  12. I agree with you, as I have said, I saw a lot of potential from Bruceton friday night. I see them winning some games this year. They are a good 0-5 team. If they just keep working hard, they will keep improving.
  13. Well lionchs, you weren't too far off on your prediction on the Camden and Bruceton game in which the final score was Camden 38, and Bruceton 20. They made a good comeback attempt on us there after the halftime, but we scored a couple of touchdowns in the fourth to put it away. I felt they would give us a good game, given the rivalry between these two towns over the years. And that we shouldn't be overconfident because they were winless so far this year. But Bruceton is rebuilding and has a rich football tradition and they will be back. I seen a lot of potential on defense and offense during the game friday night. I don't think they are far off now from being a good team. I think they will win some games this year. I noticed that the crowd was down on the Bruceton side. I was disapointed in that. I think Bruceton should support their team even though they are struggling this year. Hang in there with the team, they will get it turned around.
  14. Turbo, we don't appreciate the cut towards Camden. Sounds like you don't think Camden has any talent or any speed. Well, I don't have to tell you they do. They're records should prove that. Just get your point over without cutting down someone else.
  15. Easy there Outlaw, Camden may not be a top rated team yet. But give the team some credit, at least what they deserve. Their record is 3 and 1 so far this year. I'm not saying that Camden would have beaten Mckenzie, but just about everything that could've went wrong did go wrong for Camden in that game.
  16. Yes, I think Coach Ward and the assistant coaches are headed in the right direction with the program, and the football team. I think we'll continue to see consistant improvement in all areas. The players are more disciplined and confident and are getting stronger and durable. They show good teamwork and spirit also. Fan support is growing and we had our biggest and loudest crowd yet at the game last friday night. I know that the players and coaches appreciate all the fine comments that have been made here on the football message board.
  17. I agree with you lionschs, my feelings exactly. Mckenzie is a very good team, we just weren't ready for them yet. Given time though, I think we will be. They didn't get where they are overnight, and neither will we. There will be some growing pains. But I think we are getting there. We have some great coaches and talented players who are working hard, and with that I believe success is inevitable.

  20. Jarrod Bain from Camden should be on this list. He is a junior and a very good player and athlete.
