Then it was Maryville… LoL you comparing what your team did to what Maryville has accomplished over the last 20 plus years is hilarious… Maryville finally having a year or 2 where they might not be quite what they’ve been before doesn’t mean anything’s over . It’s amazing that Maryville has just reloaded year after year and sooner or later there had to come a time when the talent level overall might be a little lower. My bet is nothings over and we’re gonna be back to a Championship game before you are … I could be wrong but who knows

How did Fulton do last night against Farragut?

Well Waco … I thought that too but Maryville seems to be going backwards for the first time in a LONG time ! We’ll see , hopefully they can regroup, refocus and make a good run in the playoffs. The team and the Coaching needs to improve IMO our offensive game plan tonight was hand the ball off to Noah Vaughn every play up the middle till he got hurt , then hand the ball off to Ladue every play up the middle till he got hurt … hopefully going forward we’re gonna have a better plan

Unlike someone else we know , no one goes missing from Maryville after a loss . Maryville definitely lost to the better team tonight ... It has been a long time since i've seen a Maryville team this out of sorts . It seems we have no plan on containment on Defense anymore ... Defensive Ends used to contain the Edge ... I'm not sure about our plan ... we're too busy most plays dancing around trying to decide if we're gonna play a 3 man line or not and some times we're not even ready when the ball snaps . Offensively it might have been a good idea to hand the ball off to Ladue every now and then before Vaughn got hurt ... but he was too busy being a glorified guard I guess . If our offensive Game plan now is handing off up the middle every play we might as well go into a Rhino/ Wildcat package and put the ball in both Ladue and Vaughn's hands every play with 9 blockers ... Hope both young men are ok , they both played their hearts out ! It's amazing to me how many times we've been totally confused and not knowing what to do when the time is running down like at the end of the first half , running around like a Chinese fire drill seems to be our plan now . Might as well mention the Extra points too ... that's basically a coaching issue when you're incapable of kicking an extra point . Congrats to West on the big win , go get that Gold Ball now !

That’s a Great question… it’s embarrassing that Maryville, with all their tradition , history and fan support does not have a Broadcast of their Football games . DB & Farragut have awesome broadcasts of all their games , professional announcers and all around great Productions. We ran a guy off and had no backup plan at all for broadcasting our games . I’ve already paid my annual fee for NFHS, and won’t be able to see one game this year because Maryville high school, the winningest program in the State of Tn , apparently doesn’t care anything about that . Totally embarrassing and unbelievable that our school doesn’t have anything better than this … barn is exactly right

Seems like there’s quite a few just wanting to kick someone while they’re down to me … the best thing about tonight for Oak ridge I thought was the interview with Coach Cummings after the game … he was absolutely tore to pieces over it , he didn’t try to downplay nothing, he let the whole world know that this wasn’t good enough. He seems to me like he’s still got a lot of fight left in him and he showed for a lot of years at West that he could field a team with a lot of Heart and Fight , and I think right now that’s exactly what Oak Ridge needs

Well those were my exact thoughts, after the games tonight are over I’m gonna watch that CPA / Cane Ridge game just out of curiosity. I just can’t understand how that team I saw last night could lose that game . Enjoying the new MJGB , I always knew you had a lot to offer

I’m sure they were fired up for that game last night , but from what I saw if they play with that effort and intensity they have a chance to beat anyone they play.

CPA looked like a great team last night , I’m tempted to go back to their YouTube channel and watch the games they lost , a couple of their losses makes no sense at all

Maryville looked like they were thinking about their upcoming week off last Friday night and I watched the second half of this Oakland game and Oakland looked the same way , definitely flat and no enthusiasm. This doesn’t change anything in my mind, Oakland is still the team to beat and anyone expecting Oakland to look like they did last night when they play them is going to be in for a huge shock

Nearly every Maryville fan on here is out in the open and everyone knows who they are , there’s nothing I’d ever say on here that I wouldn’t say to someone’s face … can you say the same ? You are an anonymous butt hurt loser who wants to tarnish the reputation of a team of High School kids . You have probably pouted like a little child every time Maryville has had success. You want to imply that the only way Maryville has won is by cheating because that makes your team look better. I’ve heard clowns like you my whole life trying to tell how either Alcoa or Maryville both wanted little Johnny and tried to cheat to get them . Everyone who has ever said this in front of me crumbles to pieces when you say ok , give me specifics because I’m a Big Maryville guy and I don’t want anything shady going on ! My Mom was at the hairdresser many years ago and a woman there started talking about Maryville cheating and when my mother said that wasn’t true the lady said that George Quarles was so sneaky that he would come into the opposing team’s locker room at halftime to talk to the best players. This woman actually believed that … who knows, maybe she’s related to you. I have a Family member who coaches in college now but before that he was offensive coordinator at several local high schools . Parents and players would ask him all the time what Maryville’s secret was , when he told them about kids practicing in the summer on their own early in the mornings and all the hard work that it takes as a full team and the commitment required he was always met with skepticism and naa , we don’t have time for all that . That’s why it’s disgusting for someone like you to come in here and randomly throw out accusations just because you’re jealous and butthurt over a team of 14-18 years old kids having some success from their hard work and dedication!

I agree with ya Barn , Maryville has had a lot of close calls to region Foes in the last several years , I remember Farragut in 2009 , thought Rebelron was gonna have a heart attack ... I remember some tight games with Bearden and Catholic and many others ... that's why when we went in at Halftime I just assumed Maryville would come back out in the second Half and take care of Business and they didn't . Maybe this team needed a big Shocker to wake them up and realize they can't just step out on a field and everyone gives up . I remember a few years ago Maryville went to Ooltewah and our Defense looked awful ... we were lucky to hang in and get the win , we had an open week the next week and when our team came back the next game our Defense looked totally different and we ended up going on to win State that year ... that wasn't a Coach Quarles's team , that was a Coach Hunt team . This may not be our year , we do have a couple situations going on that we might not overcome , but all we can do is hope the Coaches find the right buttons to push to get the most out of this team .

Being a Maryville fan has been awfully easy for over 20 years now , so first sign of trouble you think you're supposed to turn on them ? Some of you guys are spoiled rotten ... and some of you are just here to stir up trouble ... which one are you ?

I agree Spanky , we have the Personnel to have a great pass rush this year , and our secondary is a little suspect . Rushing 3 definitely doesn't play into our strengths . I absolutely hate a 3 man rush , I couldn't imagine a more timid mindset for Defense . This Defense could still be a great Defense , we played very tough against Alcoa . This defense has proven that when they play aggressive they can make plays ... they've also proven that if they play prevent , it only prevents us from winning . I've seen this coaching staff make adjustments to get the most out of their team during the season and I think we'll see that again .
