  1. South-Doyle vs. Heritage @ 6:00 West vs. Farragut @ 9:00
  2. South-Doyle and Farragut move on
  3. I understand he is doing well with not a lot of help....but 21 points a game cannot be 5th in the state in scoring. There are 4 people alone in Knoxville scoring that much.
  4. Heritage will host the District and Clinton will host the Region
  5. As far as the game goes, neither team had much going. When the score is 29-20 at the half then neither team is playing well. Maryville had a great defensive game plan knowing that S-D doesn't have good ball handlers. Whenever Logan Johnson had the ball he was doubled and tripled team. Unfortunately S-D couldn't get any help on offense. They had opportunities but couldn't find a way to get it going. Like posted before, the teams are pretty close in talent but coaching and execution put Maryville over the top. No one shot well for either team.
  6. Best Game: AE/Fulton OT Best Coach: Jody Wright Best Team: Maryville Best Senior: Logan Johnson S-D Best Junior: Tony White Bearden Best Sophomore: Cameron Sharp Halls Best Fans: South-Doyle, Karns, Halls Best Gym: Alcoa Best comeback game of the year: S-D vs. Bearden @ Bearden
  7. List looks pretty accurate...I would agree with most.
  8. This is most likely the game to decide who clinches second place in the district. Huge game for both teams......as clinching second is a lot bigger than that third spot. S-D must get on track after sliding as of late......Bearden is playing well right now. Bearden doesn't match-up with S-D very well but it all hinges on if the role players come to play for S-D. It will be close......S-D by 3.
  9. Has anyone heard how the Heritage point guard is doing after the nasty fall against South-Doyle last night. Did he break his collar bone or ribs? He is a very good player and I hope he recovers quickly.
  10. Senior- Johnson (S-D) Junior- Warren (Alcoa) Soph- Sharpe (Halls)
  11. Logan Johnson of South-Doyle. He gets the points needed, but more importantly the steals, rebounds, and great passes.
  12. Logan Johnson did not play the entire game
  13. South-Doyle plays Rhea County tonight. Has anyone seen Rhea County play this year? S-D has a few players sick/injured....can they win?
  14. Karns can shoot the lights out and are a very strong team. They should go through their district no problem. However, it takes more than five guys that can shoot to win every game. South-Doyle has a more balanced attack in every aspect on the floor that allowed them to get the W.
  15. Good ball handler and any team would take him as point guard. However, he is not the best. I would rank Cameron Sharp of Halls steadily ahead of him. Needs to get more of a complete game before a college will take him.
  16. Eakins got in some foul trouble early and couldn't find his shot last night. He has the best pure shot of anyone in this area. He is a very good player. Glasgow did well inside at times when S-D didn't have a big lineup in the game. S-D has a good looking team but needs more consistancy at the point to continue to do well. Keep rolling S-D.
  17. the lists are pretty good. I would rank Fersner higher than 10. He is in the top 3 or 4. He is a great shooter but lacks a lot of the other skills in basketball to be the best (defense). I would probably rank Johnson #1 right now for all around game not just offensive output.
  18. South-Doyle improves to 4-0 in the district knocking off William Blount by 4. The Cherokees were up by as much as 17 but WB made a solid run and came up short. Big district win for the Cherokees.
  19. This one should be another good one. WB is full of shooters and S-D will have to get out on them if they hope to slow them down. S-D will need to use their size advantage and control the boards to get a W. If it gets too fast-paced then look for WB to roll. I say S-D in a close one.
  20. Great start, but need to finish stronger. Outstanding performance by Andy Mapes...great shooter. Young guys played well. Many teams will play a box and 1 or double team to stop Logan Johnson and coach must find a way to get him the ball. Oliver Springs is weak compared to district teams S-D will face. Good defensive plan by Oliver Springs...S-D is just a better team
  21. South-Doyle's Logan Johnson (6'5" guard) will sign with Division I Coastal Carolina of the Big South Conference on Wednesday, November 17th. Logan chose Coastal Carolina over UNC-Asheville. Other schools eliminated were Yale, Columbia, and Austin-Peay. Good Luck L.J.
  22. Ok....West usually puts out an athletic team and they may be pretty good. But, pay attention from the bench man. You did not hold Johnson or Fersner to under 8 points. Johnson had 22 in the first half against you at home.
  23. S-D only lost to ooltewah because they played four freshman the second part of the scrimage......they beat clinton by 13......they have the potential to be one of the best teams...we will have to wait and see.
  24. Don't forget Logan Johnson for South-Doyle....3rd team All KIL as a sophomore last year....6'4" plays great defense. He and Karns Fersner battled it out for sophomore of the year last year.
