  1. Clarkrange, A perfect example. Coach Rodney Pile has been on the bench since 1999 and look at that program, near the bottom of 7A every year. Had good talent for the last 4 years. If you have a good coach the talent will find them.
  2. I saw HS beat Clarkrange at HS earlier this season and have to say they are very much improved team over last year. When they came to Clarkrange last year they lost by 30/35 points. Laws had good game and the Hannahan kid had 36. So for them to beat Clarkrange at home shows a great deal of improvement. But, now when you look at Clay Co. they are the best team in 7a. They have two of the best guards in Godwin and Waldon. Rich does a good job on the inside and the other two are very good role players. They are well coached and seem to be very focused. As an outsider it looks like they are state tourney bound; however, it is great to see that HS kept it close in the first half. GOOD LUCK to both teams all the teams in 7A.
  3. I'm shocked that nobody has brought up the name Richard Laws. He is a legend in Clarkrange.
  4. Devil, I have seen all three teams play this year and I think you are probably right about the Pickett/ Clay Co. game;however I think it will be closer than 20 points. When I saw Clay Co, play they didn't seem to have the same hustle or intensity they had last year maybe an off night , but they just seemed a little off. Pickett Co. is playing better than anyone thought, but a year away from beating Clay Co at home. Jackson Co. well I think they just have a ton of luck.
  5. Pickett won 63 to 42. Game wasn't really that close.
  6. This could possibly be the best team Clarkrange has had in 10 years.
  7. Dawg 05, After listening to the game last night,I would think that HS has a good shot at a win. It sounded to me like it was the same type game we seen and heard the last 2/3 years. It sounded to me like Clarkrange was playing street ball. I think this just confirms what I have been saying all along.
  8. DF, congrats to Clay Co. they have a great team. Hope you go to the this time. Dawg 05 this game just confirms what I have been saying for a long time. Good Luck to all the teams in 7A.
  9. loefan, We are not talking about supporting the team here.We are talking about the out come of the Clay Co./Clarkrange game. My kids graduated from Clarkrange and I have supported the school for many years. What I am asking you to do is look at the record and then tell me why I should expect to see Clarkrange win this game. Since coming to Clarkrange tell me how Pile has improved these teams. First, he had the Thompson kid and the guard that thought he was so good (can't think of his name) for two years, plus good supporting players. Then he had the group that just graduated which had three good players since they were freshmen and they never improved any. He has Laws this year which has not improved any,Snow which has not improved any to speak of,and Upchurch that can be a great player, but will not improve any under this system. I'm not talking about supporting a team. I'm asking you to look at the records with an open mind and tell me why I should expect this team to win. You can't do things the same way for years and expect different results.
  10. DF, you have to remember that Clarkrange lost Austin who was a great rebounder and good for about 10/15 points a game. They lost Ramsey who was good for about 8 points and several rebounds and they lost Hannahan who could scorefrom the three point line. They just don't have the talent they had last year and they still have Pile as coach.
  11. And Powell is a AAA school with that has signed to play D-1 ball. Not bad for a little 'ol country school.
  12. Clarkrange beat Clarksville NE last year@ Upperman. I think they had 2 seniors.
  13. The best match-up would be Clay Co. they have the best team in 7-A this year along with a very good coach. I just don't understand how Pickett Co. beat them last year. Bailey was a one man show(he thought) after that they didn't have a lot of talent. Mason was alot better than anyone thought, after that just good players. Clay Co. had 5 good players that could match-up with anyone.I'm assumeing they have the same team.
  14. Does have basically the same team they had last year? At the end of the season last year they almost beat Clarkrange. If they have improved they could give a lot of teams problems. GOOD LUCK H.S. Do they have basically the same team they had last year? At the end of the season last year they almost beat Clarkrange. If they have improved they could give a lot of teams problems. GOOD LUCK H.S.
  15. I think each team exchanges books so they can list the players. I don't know if he is told to look, but the games I have been to, I see Coach Rogers look before the games start.
  16. Mr. Polesit, Coach Pile may not have had better talent, but he has had equal talent. The Austin kid was a very talented inside player that could out rebound anyone in the district last year. He was by far the best athlete on the team. Where did Pile play him? At the 3 most of the time. Richard Laws everyone seems to think he is going to play college ball. He was the leading scorer on the team averaged about 15 points per game. The Hannahan kid was deadly from the 3 point line. Scored several against Pickett Co. at home in an upset. Smith was a good ball handler but had to many turnovers(coaching) Ramsey was tough inside just not tall enough but as talented as the inside players at Clay or Pickett. Pile had these kids 4 years. They had talent but were not any better after 4 years in this system than they were as freshmen.
  17. At Clarkrange it is the COACH. Final CLARKRANGE 46 ONEIDA 38. Good game to watch. Lots of hustle but not a lot of scoring. Both teams would have had a hard time throwing it in the ocean.
  18. 'Kaz, you left out UPCHURCH. Could possibly be the best 2 guard in 7A basketball.
  19. MR.Poleist, I am talking district only. I do not know what you mean by some of the things he has put up with, but from what I see there seems to a lack of effort on the coach's part to have his team ready to play. He has had talent the last three years and has had less than winning seasons. I say this because he beat Pickett Co. last year at home and we all know how good they were. The only team they should have lost to last year was Clay Co and Pickett Co. at their place, but he lost to Monterey the last team in the district. So now my question is again, why do the fans in Clarkrange continue to defend this coach?
  20. duke, let me say first that I am only a fan. I have no childern in school and I only keep up with CLARKRANGE because I'm from the area. I don't have any desire to coach, but I will say this I have a desire to see CLARKRANGE do better than they have over the last 4/5 years. The only thing I ask is check the records they speak for themselves.
  21. Didn't WAYNE CO. have a good point guard a couple of years ago that went on to play college ball somewhere?Wilson, walters, warner something like that.
  22. 7A, What do you mean trash about the coaches? Everything said was true just check the records on Clarkrange. Now don't bring up a subject if you don't want someone to comment.
  23. CLARKRANGE will do ok if they can get the off court stuff out of the way. Rogers has his hands full with those problems.
