  1. Hey Jbbutler, let me ask you, I'm assuming that since Will threw a no hitter you didn't manage to hit that that fastball without any movement very well, huh? I mean you are part of a state championship team, you should be able to hit that. Maybe that means you aren't going to the next level. I guess after striking out all of your team he figured his 90 mph didn't need any movement. I hope you guys get to face him again so he can go ahead and add a perfect game to his no hitter against the State Champion Ripley Tigers. You guys should have a good season though, just as long as you don't face any guys who throw a 90 mph fastball without any movement. By the way, were you the 12th or 13th strikeout?
  2. Hey, what time is Marshall County playing Saturday? Oh, that's right, they're not playing. They must have had an off night. Let me let you in on a little secret, all champions have a little luck along the way.
  3. Excuse me, I believe "their gold ball and rings" belong to Ridgeway. You have nothing there except defeat from last year. I wish you guys luck, and maybe this year you can get some rings of your own. I'll be at the game Saturday if you wanna see "your" ring from last year.
  4. Hey tsmoke, I don't think that he's lying. Covington has one of the best offseason programs in the state. There are plenty of teams with players running a 4.4 or better. Ridgeway had a couple last year, one being Prince Cameron the running back, and look what he did to Fulton. I'm telling you guys from Fulton, watch out for Covington, they may have lost some games, but they're starting to come together as a team and are going to be very difficult to beat.
  5. Yeah, I think I heard some of that trashtalking last year before the Ridgeway game, and look what happened. You better keep quiet.
  6. I hope Covington wins this one. They had a chance a few years back and Portland took it to them. They play great team ball and have great coaches. This goes to Coach London from Covington: All of those years coaching with Ridgeway and you never got this chance, so get your boys ready. Fulton is good, but just take it to them. Play your game and go take one for West Tennessee.
  7. Uh, excuse me ds 40 I believe you sound pretty stupid. I don't believe that you guys are "clearly" better than us. When we played Melrose, they were "clearly" better than us even though we were missing our starting running back. I just don't think you guys stand a chance.
  8. Listen up ds 40, I'm not taunting just stating facts. I said that HC played a good game, but I just believe that we were better and lost due to an ignorant referee. We did win state last year and until state rolls around this year, we are still state champions whether you like it or not. So you know what, I can talk all the trash I want to until somebody else raises that gold ball, and I can especially talk trash to Hardin County because you guys don't have one. Yes, you guys beat us. And yes, we will be sitting at home. But, if you guys had your season taken away from you after a 75 yard hail mary and an official making a call that is clearly wrong on film, what would you do? Now, if you guys beat Melrose you have a good shot at going all the way, but I just don't believe that your defense has the speed to give Melrose a game. Our running back had 200 yards against you guys, and he is not quite as fast as the Melrose running backs. So, you guys might have a little trouble. Good luck getting that ring buddy.
  9. Oh so I guess Hardin didn't have any penalties missed on them. Look at the numeber of penalties between the two teams and I bet that Ridgeway had twice as many as Hardin. There was one call in particular on 3rd and long for Hardin and a pass interference call was called on Ridgeway when their cornerback was 5 yards ahead of Hardin's and dragged down from behind. It just looked pretty obvious that Ridgeway was getting a screw job and from what I hear the calls were similar the week before against Dyersburg. I'm not saying that Hardin is not a good team and din't play well, but it just seemed like Ridgeway was playing against Hardin and the officials.
  10. Nobody said anything about dominating, we just said that we weren't going to be a pushover.
  11. I'm not saying that Hardin didn't play well, but Ridgeway should have won. And don't even say that our 3A ring doesn't count, because we would have beaten a lot of 4A teams last year. I get so sick of people saying that teams aren't as good as other teams just because of their classification. Last time I checked Brentwood Academy and CBHS weren't in 5A and they would beat the crap out of plenty big schools. The fact is that Ridgeway has two things Hardin County fans don't have, and those are a state ring and some teeth.
  12. Ridgeway had two fumbles that were supposedly laterals, but the only one Ridgeway recovered was called an incomplete pass. I was standing on the sidelines after the game and saw one ref walk off the field with a little smirk on his face. What do you expect players to do after a game that was taken away from them, jump for joy? I promise you that there were plenty of people on The Hardin County side that knew that their team was lucky to win that game. I wish HC could beat Melrose and go on to play in the State Championship so maybe we could sit down and talk about how it feels to raise that gold ball up in the air and get a ring. Ok, let's be honest you guys are going to the Mound this week and if you haven't heard, it's an adventure. So, I would say good luck but it probably won't help. I never thought I would be cheering for Melrose, but come this week I'm gonna do just that. So you boys boys have fun preparing for the speed of the wildcats while I'm shining my ring. Sure, we're not playing for one this year, but I know who the best team really was last night and who should be moving on. Oh, by the way tell your cousin the referee I said Hi.
  13. This might have been one of the worst officiated games I've ever seen. How does a referee from the endzone who is making sure the ball is caught, call a penalty for an illegal man down field. Supposedly the call was that one of the Ridgeway recievers was covered up on the line, therefore making him ineligible. Now why does that ref not make that call at the beginning of the play? Hardin County had a good team, but I believe that Ridgeway would have dominated if not for the stupidity of the officials.
  14. First of all, let me tell all of the Crockett fans to stop talking right now, because you guys did the same talking last year when Crockett was #1 in the state and everyone thought that Artis Pitts was unstoppable. Well, I guess Ridgeway got word of the trashtalking and put an end to it with a 29-0 victory last year. Crockett is a great team and Pratt is an outstanding coach, but all a team really needs to do is play smashmouth football with them. If a team gets a lead, Crockett does not have the offense to come back in a hurry. The double wing works, but not when you are behind in the 4th quarter and need two quick touchdowns. Finally, this post is ridiculous because there is so much football left and so many good teams out there. Ridgeway was ranked #8 in the state going into the playoffs and look where they finished. ANYTHING CAN HAPPEN!!!
  15. I heard CPA had a pretty good QB last year, what happened to him?
  16. The battle for supremacy in 8-4A goes down this week in Memphis when Ridgeway plays Melrose. Who's the favorite and why?
  17. It seems that Memphis has State Champions year in and year out. Last year it was Ridgeway, Briarcrest, and Bishop Bryne. I was just wondering what people thought about the idea that Memphis is the best football town from top to bottom. Besides these three teams, there is Germantown, Houston, CBHS, Melrose, East, etc. Let me know what you think.
  18. hey Krp, am I mistaken or did Ridgeway beat an eastern team in Fulton last year in the State Championship and didn't Briarcrest win state also, or how about Bishop Byrne? Man, I think that's three western teams right there who beat middle or eastern teams last year in the title game.
  19. I don't believe that a player is necessarily better because of rankings on ESPN. I'll give you an examples of a player who was overhyped: Willie Henderson from Ridgeway two years ago was ranked as the # 3 prospect in the country before his senior season. Going head to head with him evryday in practice, I can assure you that he was not all he was built up to be and it showed when at the end of the season he wasn't ranked anywhere in the top 100 prospects.
  20. Will Hudgens from Ridgeway, hands down. Not only is he arguably the best QB in West Tennessee, but he is the best defensive back on the team, he has the best hands and good speed, so he could play reciever, and if he didn't have to punt he would be the longsnapper because he does it better than anybody else. He is definately the most versatile player on our team and in West Tennessee.
  21. Cortney Taylor from Ridgeway. He ran the fastest time at the Ole Miss Camp with a 4.31 40 time. He is also probably pound for pound one of the hardest hitters I have ever played with. He never complains and is a complete team player.
  22. How about Will Hudgens from Ridgeway? He has a great QB body at 6-4 210, and he has a great arm to back it up. He led his team to a State Championship last year and has had a promising summer. First he went to the UT camp and outperformed many of the other QB's there, including Wolke. Then he threw outstanding at the Ole Miss camp and the Peyton Manning Camp last week. He already has scholarship offers from 8 or 9 D1 colleges, and he is only gonna get better.
  23. Ridgeway will have a very tough defense. They return 8 starters from last year's team that posted 7 shutouts and only 39 points in the entire regular season.
  24. I was wondering who all went to the Peyton Manning passing camp this week. I know that Ridgeway QB Will Hudgens went, but who else?
  25. Even though Ridgeway won State in 3A, people aren't giving them any respect going into 4A, but I believe that they are going to raise some eyebrows this year. With the arm of QB prospect Will Hudgens leading the way, they should be a tough team to beat this coming year, despite what some say.
