How close is Clinton to Oak Ridge?

Anybody know why White Countys Hannah Hacker didn't dress out for the game? They could have really used her. :confused:

bigdaddyt....OK. I will admit it. White Co. is less than half the size of Cookeville. White Co. has definitely beaten Cookeville over the years FAR more than they have beaten White Co. Whew....glad I got that off my chest.

bigH32.....I believe the current White Co. sophomores won the Dist. last year with an undefeated record as Freshmen. So Cookeville can't have the best sophomores.

cavs35...The girls have won one state championship. There are 23 banners on the wall in the gymnasium. White Co. girls have made it to the state 12 times over the years. The boys have two state championships with a total of 11{23 between the 2 teams} state tourney appearances. Not many high schoools can say they have been to the state tourney that many times. I don't think there is much diff. in the 2 girls teams this year. It was 2 points with about a minute left in the first meeting. What a basketball tradition in White Co.!!!

I didn't know that the Blackman win was xmas tourney. I still think in the regular season it will be White Co. #3 and Oakland #4. Whoever gets hot at the right time will win the Dist. tourney. Could be Riverdale, Oakland, White Co., Cookeville, or Lebanon. I really don't think it will be Blackman or Warren Co.

I agree with you for the most part fozzie. I do think for the regular season White Co. will finish #3 and Oakland #4. Oaklands loss to Blackman will hurt them. There's no telling how the Tourney will play out in the toughest Dist. in the state. :confused:

White Co. coach is a he not a she. I think Hannah Hacker has accepted her role coming off the bench. She knows she will start the next 2 years for Sparta. You can see how good she is then. Probably will get a taste of how good Tues. night in Sparta. No way you can question White Co. basketball. Just come to Roy Sewell gymnasium Tuesday night and look at all those state tourney banners on the wall. Cookeville will NEVER have the tradition and reputation White Co. has when it comes to basketball. There's nothing you can say about that. Go Warriorettes!!!

Do you know how many Reed and Taylor had in the first game these two teams played? You will see how good Hacker is the next two years when she starts. It is my opinion that if she started as a sophomore that a senior or two might quit{only my opinion} and Hess doesn't want that to happen. Go WARRIORETTES!!!

I will be rooting for White Co. If I were Cookeville I wouldn't get my hopes up if you win by 10 or more. This is a very weak White Co. team than in previous years.

You can pick any 2 White Co. players and take them out and White Co. would win every time if Taylor and Reed are out. Cookeville probably does have the 2 best players on the court{Taylor and Reed}. You never know who is going to be the leading scorer for Sparta. You can just about bet who's going to be the leading scorer from Cookeville every game. Hess will sub at least 4 girls Tues. night{Hacker,Cole,King, and Hickey}. We'll see if Odom subs more than that. Cookeville may win the game{maybe not}. But I still think White Co. without a doubt has the deeper team. Hacker is probably the best sophomore in the state. Unfortunately being a deep team doesn't always win games.

If this game is close. And I think it will be close all the way. White Co. is deeper and I guarantee they will play more players than Cookeville. You take out Taylor and the transfer{Reed} and Cookeville girls are pretty common.

Should be a good game Tuesday in Sparta between two of the best teams in the state.

LCHS will have to start playing MUCH better if they expect to get out of the region tourney. Right now I see Dist. 8-AAA winning only one region game in the first round. That will be Shelbyville beating #4 from Dist. 7-AAA. Just my opinion.

Opperman....Ridgeway also beat White Station...I guess they thought they would make Ridgeway feel better and let them win.

They had better worry about winning the toughest Dist. in the state first{Dist. 7-AAA} before thinking about a state tourney appearance.

What a ridiculous post. District wins seed you for the Dist. tourney which sets you up for your Region tourney. District wins ARE ALL THAT DO MATTER. I don't care if Sparta wins every game but the Dist. It doesn't mean anything to beat teams that aren't in the Dist. You can go nowhere without Dist. wins.

pinkpanther....Like I said. I know the talent level is way off. However, I don't see how you can say he is getting lots of bang for the buck with ZERO Dist. wins in almost 2 seasons. The record this year is a little deceiving. How many wins does White Co. have against AAA teams? I think it's only one or two. The other wins came against extremely weak AA teams. I think Whited did want to spend more time with his new son when he quit. With Agee and the Selby boys and others there wasn't really any rebuilding to do. We would have probably won the Dist. tourney another time or two or at least would have been a serious contender with Whited the last couple of years. I have a question pinkpanther. Would you get rid of Slatten if he has no Dist. wins this year or next? It is a possibility.

3ball..... Slatten is just as good as Whited? How can you make that remark? Slatten has not coachd White Co. to a Dist. win in 2 seasons so far. I know the talent isn't as good, but if Slatten was such a good coach don't you think he could have managed a few Dist. wins. I personally would rejoice if Whited came back to coach those current 8th graders in a year or two.

The White Co. schedule now says they are at Warren Co. on Jan. 20th and are at Warren Co. on Feb. 20th. Which is correct?

Someone 4' 11" who can dunk would be more impressive than L. James. I don't see what the big deal is about him anyway. So he's gonna be a pro right out of high school and be a millionaire. It happens quite often anymore.

According to the "Big Ones" contest, Warren Co. is at White Co. on Monday. Can anyone confirm this? The White Co. game at Warren Co. was snowed out last night. White Co.{according to the schedule I have} has a game at home against Warren Co. on Feb. 11. Is the "Big Ones" wrong and the game is at Warren Co. Monday night?
