  1. OOHHH, how I hope you are wrong!!
  2. I can guarantee you that if the refs let them play, and if Dyer Co. gets their unbelievable up-tempo game going, they will be TOUGH to stop. If the refs call it tight, and slow it down...i think that BTW wins by 10. From a Cavalier fan, good luck DC!
  3. The Johnson twins, along with Perry will be ready to go tonight. Cavalier Fans need to be ready to support these guys in Memphis, so that we can head on to the BORO!! Good Luck Cavs, DC, Bolivar, and Liberty!
  4. Crockett County in a close one!! Shaun Johnson hits the shot to seal the deal, or at least I hope so!
  5. Haha, I hear ya GCPioneer. I agree with ya on this last post!
  6. I agree, I was there. Great game with lots of emotions. I did not see anyone out of character, except maybe a few fans on both sides of the ball. The composure of both of these teams is unbelievable. They seem to never get rattled, especially the Johnsons.
  7. If you ever watch Sportscenters Top 10, the top play rarely ever goes the game winner. However, it almost always goes to the most ATHLETIC play of the night. So I am gonna base my opinion on this. Great game, it's over. Good luck to 13AA in the region. I wanna see another rematch in Murfreesboro, even though it's very unlikely.
  8. Are you kidding me?? Everyone in the gym knows that block was clean! You can ask Mr. Blake himself. No disrespect to him, but that was the play of the game!!
  9. I don't know anything about Memphis Mitchell, except that they beat BTW, which says alot. How do the teams match-up on paper?
  10. "Brooks 12". There is no way that you can say that those refs last night didn't call that game straight down the middle. They made calls for both teams all night long. Dyer County got called on a lot of reach in fouls, which were fouls and Crockett County got called on a lot of fouls under the basket which were fouls, and a few charges, which were charges. It was the best officiated game that I have seen all year. As for the play of the game, I think that the Jackson Sun may have gotten it wrong. The best play was definitely on a fast break when Ron Johnson made an unbelievable block on Justin Blake Without fouling! It was one of the best defensive plays ive seen in High School Basketball.
  11. Wow, What a game...Both teams played thier hearts out. It was the best game that Ive seen in the past in the 3-4 years. Very well officiated, great crowd support, and great players, playing great. There is no doubt that Ron Johnson and Justin Blake are the 2 best players in 13AA! Good Luck to each team in the Subsatate game.
  12. Ron and Shaun Johnson vs. CJ and Justin. It is absolutely amazing to watch these guys play against each other on both ends of the court. They can light it up on O and shut you down on D. In the last game, the press of Dyer County had the Cavs flustered. I don't think the same thing will happen again. Sure, there will be some breakdowns, but not as many. I see a hard fought game. Either R. Johnson or Blake scores 30 plus in this one to lead their team to victory!
  13. I think that if the Cavs can break the full court press and set up in a half-court offense against Dyer County, it will slow them down. The Cavs need to pound the ball in down low to Big Perry and let him work and draw fouls, which would open up the 3-point shots for the Johnsons and Theus. I know that all of this is much easier said than done. Dyer County has a very good defense, but I don't think that they can score with the Cavs. Turnovers will be key. My prediction is DC by 7. Close, up-tempo game that comes down to free throws. I hope I am wrong though, GO CAVS!
  14. They may be down, but down for Haywood is still much better than most teams in the Jackson Sun area. Not to mention, Ricky Taylor is one of the areas most dominate players. But if it makes you feel better to think they are down, that is fine with me.
  15. This is the 1st time in as long as I can remember that my Cavs have beat Haywood twice in one year. The tomcats are usually pretty dominate. This just goes to show how athletic the johnson twins really are. They play great defense and can score points many different ways. However, they have got to get Perry more involved on Offense if they want to move on. Kick it in and let the big man work! Go Cavs!
  16. I would love to see Johnson and Hunt play one on one. Ha ha (joking) I know that isn't what the MVP is about, but it would be fun to watch. I just don't agree with a player on a losing team winning MVP. Obviously, he isn't that Valuable?
  17. Ron Johnson, hands down desereved to be the 13AA district MVP. No disrespect to any of the dyer county boys, but he is the one guy in this district that demanded double teams, or else he would take over the entire ball-game. He scored 41 twice this year, and 30 multiple times. He is an excellent shooter/scorer. As for the game last night, the refs let them play WAY too much. If they would have called all of the hand checks and reaches on both sides of the ball, all 10 starters would have fouled out. That is not the way high school basketball is supposed to be played. The Johnson boys were tripped, hacked, slapped, fouled, etc. alot more times than were called. However, Dyer County's team speed and team Defense is incredible. I think that these factors changed the entire ball game. Good Luck to 13AA in the region tournament. I would love to see a 4th rematch between Crockett and Dyer. P.S This is the 1st district championship game in a long time that I haven't seen a single DUNK. Where did the "hops" go?
  18. I think that Ron Johnson definitely deserves the 13AA Mvp. He is among the top 3 in average pts. per game in the Jackson Sun area. He has scored 41 pts. on 2 different occasions. The Cavaliers would be a .500 team without him. I agree that Blake maybe a more well-rounded player, but Ron is more important to his team. Congrats to the Cavs and Choctaws on great seasons, and good luck in the tourney!
  19. Haha, sorry about that. After looking again, I am not quite sure how I missed it. Not sure, but heard through the grapevine that he got an offer from Universtiy of Missouri?? Also heard that he wasn't gonna go without his twin, Leshaun (package deal).
  20. Leron Johnson from Crockett has also got to be on this list on Defense at DB.
  21. I have watched lots of Crockett County football in the past 6 years, and have seen tons of success against plenty of quality teams, except for Covington. Yes, I was at the game in 2001 that Crockett won 12-9, and honestly they shouldn't have won that game. Whether it be coaching, talent, or experience, the Chargers definitley have the Cavs number. With all of this said, my FIRST prediction of the YEAR...It's time for a change in LUCK for the Cavs! Cavaliers- 24 Chargers- 10 I hope that everyone is safe travelling and playing
  22. Ill ask you the same question after dburg comes to Cavalier Stadium this year buddy.
  23. It was awesome to see Earnest Williams score his first collegiate touchdown. Even though I graduated with Earnest and saw him score Many, Many touchdowns in high school, it is great to see him succeed at the next level. He also had a 55 yard screeen pass reception that got called back!
  24. I agree, this is a very tough region. Probably the most talented region in the entire state. It will be very fun to watch. However, as alreadt said CROCKETT CO. will prevail!
