Its nice to see rankings on here they are always fun to debate and keeps the Coact community updated on results of matches across the state. I believe Overton should be in the team rankings along with Centennial, and the young MBA team. Also Father Ryan beat Clarksville 55-9, so I also believe they should be a little higher.

Just a curious question for Bradley fans or even Coach Logsdon himself, Has Bradley ever thought about moving their Invitational and entering the McCallie Invitational? This tournament in my opinion is 10 times harder to win than our respective D 1 and D 2 state championships. Bradley entering the tournament would send it over the top and possibly the top one or two tournaments in the Southeast. If not enter the invitational try to get McCallie to move the tourney and invite all of those teams to the Bradley Invitational, just wondering why two big tournaments are on the same weekend??

Here are Silverbullets rankings as of this morning! Prior to the season McCallie was the clear favorite to win the DII Duals. However, Baylor has been impressive in the early going with a starting lineup that will only get better as season moves along. DII Team Ranking 1-Baylor - Good top to bottom lineup. 2-McCallie - Great through the middle but very young at the lower weights. 3-Father Ryan - Tough with Hiller, Dunning, Stark. Can Coach Simpson pull another rabbit out of his hat like last year and challenge #1 and #2? 4-Christian Bros. - From 152 up, these guys are tough. 5-Notre Dame - No stars but very, very solid. It is fairly common to compare team scores, especially here on CoachT.com, but in reality it is a very tough thing to do. Sometimes it is the only way we can compare teams that will not have the opportunity to wrestle head to head because of the D 1 and D 2 split. I have seen many posts on Bradley beating Collins Hill, while Collins Hill defeated McCallie earlier in the season. It would be easy to compare the scores and say Bradley is better, but in reality I am sure McCallie would have possibly mixed their lineup a little bit to hopefully make the match more interesting and the same goes for Bradley. If this is the case ex. Bradley 55-Christian Brothers 14, and then say McCallie, Baylor, or Ryan beat them 55 -13 there is an argument that maybe these teams are one point better than Bradley. I am totally biased in this I just use the big name teams for example not picking on either school! I do agree sometimes it seems the only way to compare teams, but I think it is tough to do because teams mix up their lineups depending on the importance of the match whether a big rivalry or state dual meet. Just an opinion and wondering what other people think about this topic??

I do agree with the coaches poll, that Bradley is #1 in the state right now. I do not agree with having seperate polls D1 and D2 this is still a little bit of fun we have left in wrestling checking the standings weekly. Having a split poll would be boring having Bradley #1 every week by a landslide and watching McCallie, Ryan, and Baylor switch number one spots. This is just my opinion I do enjoy seeing all of the teams in the state ranked each week.

Thanks for clearing that up I was kind of confused on what papabear meant. When Christian Brothers gets their full lineup back will be a tough team to wrestle down the stretch. Good Luck to the Brothers!

Coach what do you mean by we are the only ones that wrestle both? Are you saying just you and Bradley?

CoachDelgado are you saying that this match never happened?? This is kind of a weird situation if the match never happened! If not who wrote and quoted the wrestlers in the article??

Like I said I definitely agree Bradley is the best team in the state this year, and I do believe that Christian Brothers program is definitely on the way up, I wasn't trying to say teams will pound the Brothers. I just see alot of score comparing on this board and was just throwing some sort of scenario out there for people to think about.

Seems like once again Bradley wrestled very well, and stay #1 in the state of Tennessee and one of the top in the Southeast. I do feel that Bradley is the best team in the state right now and has a chance to bring home another state championship. There has been much discussion that since Bradley beat Collins Hill pretty convincingly and Mccallie lost to them that Bradley is a better team. Since thats all we can do is compare most D1 schools and D2 schools on paper, becuase many for whatever reason do not wrestle each other through out the year. Bradley did get a chance to wrestle Christian Brothers a D2 school and beat them 54-14, so is it possible that if Baylor or Father Ryan defeats Christian Brothers by more than that they are better than Bradley??? It seems like a valid argument because most get on here and find a way to argue the best team by comparing scores and things that like that. I am neutrual on this argument just throwing it out there to see what others think.

Collins Hill did beat McCallie earlier this season. If I am not mistaken that was the match that McCallie forfeited at 103 and 112??? Bradley for sure is the team to beat!

Does any one have the actual match results? Year in and year out the scores are pretty lopsided. It looks like the Lomas match would have been a little bit of an upset. I am not sure how many wrestlers BA graduated, but it has been since the early 90's since they were really competeting in the top 3 spots. Loosing Mctorry and maybe two other seniors would be a couple of big weight classes to fill. I dont know if this is their rebuilding year or have they been rebuilding since then?

Father Ryan 51-9 or something like that I am not sure the actually score, but I dont think it was close....

Good Job McCallie!! Its always good to see Tennesee teams going outside of the state and competing and doing well. This will only help you come February and also keeping the state of Tennessee on the wrestling map nationally!

Why did we not have more wrestlers go? Dunning? Hiller? Simpson? Crosby? Pennington? etc... If there any reason, if so let me know I have been away from the site for a while, so if anyone knows let me know thanks a lot!

Where can I find the list of Tennesse wrestlers competing in the Senior Nationals? Is Dunning from Father Ryan going if I was guessing he would be in the top 15? Lovetowrestle

I just looked at the Tennbest weekly and needless to day I am very disappointed. It doesnt look like there is much updating going on. Silverbullet in my opinion is closer on the rankings up to today. It is saying the last results that he has for teams is the Bradley Invitional and the Mccallie Invitational. Was Rob on vacation or did he know there was a big Ryan Invitational with 39 teams? Why are those results not included in the rankings? Rob does a great job, but right now I dont mind on waiting to Silverbullets again at least his are up to date. But like was posted it really doesnt matter until February 15th! Lovetowrestle

Do you have the score to the game or any news about what happened? If Father Ryan did win how can you come on here and post a thread saying Okay Father Ryan won they will lose next time?? Can you even do that?? Just give a team credit to traveling to Chattanooga during the week defeat a very good Notre Dame school and come back for class the next day. If Notre Dame gets the oppurtuniy to play the best D2 team in the state again, I wish them luck, but dont disrespect a team by coming on here after a victory and say they will lose next time! Thanks Trackman, I am with you I wish from most big dual meets and tournaments maybe we could get someone to give a summary of each match. It is just better seeing in the paper the boxscore of who won or lost and thats it! Lovetowrestle

I see where many are coming from on this issue, and meant nothing to the people in D1 or D2 I am just a wrestling fan and just want to see the best wrestle the best. I mean obviously there are other sports that have the split and seem to be doing good with it. It is an argument that we could spend all day on! I see there are obvious pros and cons, and I dont try to get mad at a person on here its just a very frustrating subject and just wish we could do something about it. So once again I am here to talk about wrestling and not argue about what the split. I am just a fan that loves watching wrestling. I apologize if I offened anyone!!
