  1. After a decade of Division II - AAA Football, here is the count of state titles. Montgomery Bell Academy-5 titles (1998,1999,2000,2002,2003) Memphis University School-2 titles (2004,2005) Brentwood Academy- 1 title (2006) Father Ryan- 1 title (1997) McCalle School- 1 title (2001) Christian Brothers- 0 titles Baylor- 0 titles Briarcrest-0 titles By any measurement, you would have to say that MBA had the best run over the first decade. The discussion now turns to the next decade. With the realignment of Division II and new member schools, how will this affect the league? Will we see more great players like Ingle Martin, BJ Coleman, or Barry Turner? Who will emerge as the dominant team of the next decade? What coaching movement will we see? Will we see more or less Division II vs. Division I games?
  2. Is there a confirmed final to this game yet??
  3. Hello Irishdad Sorry it took so long to get back to this but I had to call on a few people to give me the information I needed. This is what I have now since 1999. 98-99 MBA 30 Ryan 30 MBA wins on criteria MBA 25 Ryan 36 Region Dual 99-00 MBA 15 Ryan 48 MBA 9 Ryan 47 Region Dual 00-01 MBA 12 Ryan 53 Harrison Duals MBA 10 Ryan 47 Region Final Duals 01-02 MBA 31 Ryan 30 Harrison Duals MBA 17 Ryan 36 MBA 24 Ryan 24 Region jFinal Duals MBA wins on criteria MBA 36 Ryan 26 State Duals for 3rd place 02-03 MBA 33 Ryan 28 MBA 18 Ryan 48 Region Final Duals 03-04 MBA 16 Ryan 47 It looks to me that the record of MBA over the last 6 years has been MBA has won 5 and Ryan won 8. Could you verify this? Also, will you be keeping the scoreclock this weekend? Not trying to start anything but just wanted to know.
  4. Hi Sommers, I believe my Big Red has finished as high as 2nd place, and for the most part finish either 3rd or 4th.. Last year they finished 5th at the individuals and 4th at the duals. I believe this was the first time CBHS place higher than MBA in either of the state duals or individuals. I have read on hear the the Big Red had a rough day at the Kenwood tourn. Hope they can recover!
  5. Herm, If you had been following the MBA vs Ryan rivalry close you would not be surprised by MBA's recent success. If you follow MBA and the D2 wrestlers you would see that MBA has been right in the mix with the top teams from D2. MBA has beaten Baylor, McCallie, Ryan in the last 4 years. If I am not mistaken, MBA has never lost to CBHS in a dual meet. I do look forward to the MBA vs Ryan match this year. I WILL BE CHEERING FOR MY BIG RED!
  6. To answer your question Herm, I believe MBA has beaten Ryan 4 or 5 times over that past 5 years. I guess we should call on Irishdad to get the skinny on this one. This is a classic battle that everyone should see. I was at the match where MBA beat the mighty irish in the "Pit". That one brought tears to my eyes. And they weren't irish eyes.

So back to my question...what is the status of Braswell at Baylor??

    Baylor At MBA

I heard that Braswell got hurt in the first half versus Webb and that is why they lost. What is his status this week?
  10. I know a lot of people out there love Coach Flatt, and view him as one of the greatest coaches in Tennessee history. However, I have heard that he will retire as soon as he breaks the all time wins record in Tennessee history.
  11. Chattcity- Why would the numbers be down at Baylor??
  12. Edd Caudill, MBA's line coach for the past 10 years, took a job at the new Ensworth High School.
  13. CBG- Seven out of MBA's 22 starting positions were filled by Ensworth kids which is about 1/3.
  14. BigRedDog- What year did you graduate from MBA?? Who were some of the teammates you had that were from Ensworth?
