  1. The snap problem has to get fixed. Gage has to make a great play 50% of the time just to get into the play. Cost us a score + one the other way right before the half. Should have been at least 31-6 SC at intermission. Game wasn't 38-21 close. How about Manning!!!! Jalen, that is. 22 carries for 232 and 2!! Left a trail of tigers on several carries. I didn't really ever see a threat from MC. I agree with swanson. It's gonna be hard for MC to beat DeKalb and White House. .500 ball is the ceiling for the Macon County Tigers. Bet the fence row coaches are beginning to rear their heads again on the ridge and expectations were so high. 6-0 Big Owls!!! Keep rolling along.
  2. Speech may have been pretty good, but adjustments were better. SC staff almost always excels in their adjusting both offensively and defensively.
  3. 50-30 SC. SC had a 200 yard rusher (Manning) and 2 more over 100 (Scurlock and Stevenson). Muffed punt and terrible snap gave a dangerous offense extra possessions which resulted in DC scores. Good homecoming win. Much improved DeKalb County team that can give defense problems.
  4. How deep did you go in the playoffs last year?? Have you taken a look at how many points the Tiggers are giving up this year?? I'd be careful how you play the "stink" card. You'll get your shot in 8 days.
  5. jls, They can also check the sky for fireworks!!
  6. If I ate my weight in anything, I'd have to stay right there for for a couple days! GO OWLS
  7. Shoot, I may leave early just to get a sniff of that shrimp boil!!!!! GO BIG OWLS!!!
  8. owls1987, you're good folk too!! Will try to holler at ya tomorrow evening. Good luck to you and your team. Not too much, though. The color your blood runs, black and gold, should have enough luck to bring the W back to Carthage.
  9. Not much to say at this point. If the Owls get better and handle the little things better, then I expect them to be successful!!! Livingston will possess more speed than our last opponent, I'm thinking. Harder to account for their QB than our last opponent. Should be interesting to see what happens this week. GO OWLS!
  10. The 4th down play was from the right hash and we lined up in a Maryland I. O-line got blown into the backfield like they had all night. It was a straight Iso in the 3 hole my power versus your power and the Tigers power won that battle. With Gville stacked in the box all night and our deep threat sidelined from last week, I think we just failed to utilize our next best 4 pass catchers. Why not throw the PA stuff more to our FB's and TE's. I felt like that could have been there early and often and used to loosen up the Tiger D. We were successful when we did. Tuck had a good catch/run/punish and Webb's 2 pt. catch we had the same call on 1st down that series in OT that was thrown with a tad too much zip. The referee probably did cost us a TD to Dennis on our only real chance down the field. This 300+ pound O line has got to get it together. So far, they've pretty much been ineffective.
  11. We talked a little about moral victories and I am not much of a believer in them either. Gordonsville can take this one and chalk it up to that. They won the battle on the line of scrimmage all game long on defense. Sloppy game by two teams that have a lot of improving to do to be very good. All that being said, a win is a win is a win. On to week 2 with 13 in the books.
  12. Maybe so Croz, they were from an enrollment website. Said you had 102 freshmen, 96 sophomores, 83 juniors and 72 seniors. That is 353, but if your 8th and 7th grades trend like your last few years increasing by 10% and have around 100-110 each like your 9th and 10th, that would stick you right at 400. The cutoff for 1A in the 2009 classification was 389. Friendship was at 392 with multiplier and Watertown was at 398. They were the 2nd and 3rd smallest 2A schools last classification period. Could bump the Tigers up in 2 years at a bad time talent cycle wise. Just an observation.
  13. That's 13 of the 16 total wins out of roughly 75 total games. So a .210 average lifetime. If that were a baseball player, you'd be in single A. ......Oh wait..... On another note, looking at some enrollment numbers, your freshmen and sophomore classes look to bigger than your junior and senior classes. Could that mean a bump to 2A at next reclassification? You've got 69 more kids than Trousdale Co. and heck, even 2 more than Alcoa.
  14. Hard to be real physical if you don't have some size and speed.
  15. Croz, you know I'm a Tiger fan from Saturday on out. Our kids in this county are our kids. They all deserve the very best. That being said, I want SC to score 100 on your Tigers if they could!! I get tired of hearing all the whining and crying year after year by what is probably the vocal minority. They have this, we don't have that, sure that was privately funded, blah blah blah. GO Owls!!!!
  16. Who said anything about any specifics of the deal. I don't recall anyone. If the situation was reversed someone would have called the kids name and, should he have stayed and given another shot, would have blasted SC's program. I've seen it. Don't say for one second that wouldn't be the case. I've been a CoachT member for 10 years now. That's the near entire streak in this particular series. I've seen much more derogatory remarks slamming SC from Tiger fans than the other way around. Again, I wish the kid was playing and find nothing amusing about the situation nor the problem that family finds itself facing. By the same token, the double standard from the southside never ceases to amaze me. GO SC!! Beat the Tigers.
  17. One word answer......YES. That however would be kinda personal and any kid with a problem is NEVER funny. Hope he gets back on track and sooner rather than later.
  18. Some people take things too "personal." As quickly as #2's fake injury spread, the real info didn't. Could it? Of course. I got it straight from the Southside. Oklahoma, I've heard, is a nice place, though! GO OWLS!!!!! On another note, I'm sure SC remembers the slow start that last trip. I don't really look for it to be that way again. I remember 2 trips ago, though, little faster start and the Tiger O couldn't get out of their own endzone.
  19. You got a lot of breaks 2 years ago. Didn't happen. We'll see I guess. With all the kids that are hurt or being sent off, will the Tigers even still field a team?
  20. The prediction doesn't sound too far-fetched. The 3-7 does though. LOL
  21. I'll hand it to you Croz, you are more of a realist than most that wear blue. Very few times during this run, if any, has the talent at Gordonsville been better than SC. It has been perceived better by some. One year comes to mind is J. Smith and that class senior year and the game at Gordonsville. Those were some talented kids, but got handled with relative ease by the Owls. I don't think it's real close right now. Not saying it'll always be the case, but I like where the SC program is right now. Arguably more talent than ever before making it's way to and through the school. That doesn't bode well for the Tigers. GO SC.
  22. Hate to hear any kid is not able to play. Hope he recovers fully and quickly. Tried to text you today. Don't know if your number is the same. Give me a shout tomorrow, bro.
  23. Oh Croz, that's the point. 1 isn't good enough if you're SC in this game. We're "supposed" to win, right? Even a close game, like 2 years ago was looked at, by many, a moral victory that led to the "we'll get em next year" chants of last year. The 20-0 shutout. That wasn't enough either for many. I heard all sorts of excuses from refs to coaches as to why the Tigers were still better. SC has to win this game going away every year or Gordonsville "kept it close." Now, in all seriousness, a 1 point win is a W and should be enough. We both know that isn't always the case. I would say SC is really more like a 17 point favorite, even at Gordonsville. I'm going to say 27-6.
  24. Hello all, memory is slipping a tad as I progress through life. Forgot my password and had to contact ooachT to get it. Everyone seems relatively tame so far this week. Kinda figures after all the hype 2 out of the last 3 years. Last trip to SC south turned into the scare of the decade with the Mighty Owls making the plays down the stretch to take down another. As mentioned earlier, that night the Owls had little threat in the backfield. Those spots are a tad more sure these days with "he could go all the way" ability from several young uns. Not sure the Tigers have the firepower on either side to force the same kind of scare again this year. The Owl staff will I'm sure remind the Owls of the near stumble last time they went to practice field on the south side. As always, We'll just have to see. Hope the big blue go 14-1 and lose this game by 6..........TD's! GO SC!!
  25. Lost all my contact #s a couple months ago and had to change my cell number. 615-489-0590. Looks like a tough road for us. Athleticism galore in round 1 and 2.
