i was sitting kinda close to some temple fans last year in the first round game and they seemed to handle themselves very well watching the game.besidesthey are a christian school and several of there players as well.one of temples fans came over to me after watching halls loose a heartbreaker last year and told me strayhorn was one heck of a player.and after getting on the threads,temple fans were very complimentary of our freshmen playing with poise.both teams are very good and confident and will be a very good matchup.

in football we have 5 claasifications.i think it be good to have at least 4 classifications. its really weird to have two towns like union city and humboldt becoming single A next year with a walmart in town.especially union city. i remember one year halls went AA in football and it seemed to take forver for union cities band to come on to the field.we have a pretty decent size school is single A but mostly been single A mostly. i think we have about 361 students.im not sure if theres been more ten three classifications in basketball in the state.might be a good idea.

thats great to here galilee. some things can humble ya.mitchell is a very loaded team with so mucg talent. maybe what haywood did to mitchell will make everybody a better player.hopefully with the improvement they can go out and play with more class and win as well. there is no question that mitchell has the right kids to in it all.i like seeing people learn from mistakes and learn great lessions in life longterm.good luck to you guys next season.

you also have to consider peabody also played without doaks in the first two games of the regional tournament without doaks and played as a team as well.district 16 A has alot of pariody and one of 4 teams is capable of beating one another.if ya remember the halls team giving temple trouble last year,you have an idea with type of pressure the guards will get.but this season i think peabody has done alot better of a job handle the ball against pressure defense and i dont think unaka will bring that they have fast this year against bigger schools.rememer trenton came in third place in there district regular season and 4th in the district tournament but really is playing team ball better this time of year compared to last year.i saw unake play last year in the state and they really play hard nd its there third straight season to make to murfreesboro i believe.they do have the experience but trenton has played some good teams to get them ready for this matchup.the freshmen guard(yancy)really gives peabody a big spark and has speed on top of it.unake seems to be playing well at this time of year like they did last year.both teams playing well at this time of year should make it a great game.

jw mentioned humboldt not being in any of those regions next year because they are going down to singleA along with union city as well. two good teams next year to watch out in single A are those two teams.

anyone who beats jcs four times in a season and can play bolivar within 10 points certainly isnt a pushover.i havent scene them play this season.i saw them last year in the substate game and thought they could have won the state last year if they were able to get by halls last year.they have several good atthletes.temple returning there whole team from last year and middleton with there depth will be a very good game down to the wire possibly.the winner could possibly win it all.

young,thornton, and powell were all freshmen three years ago when they were single A.those three probably have alot better role players this year with the improvemnt of the main three for mitchell.haywood really gave them a dose of there own medicine. and if they go AAA,it will be even tougher.

ive scene temple play last year and they have everybody back from last year.ive scene middleton play last year and probably should have beaten halls last year.temple hjad its hands full last year against halls and middleton is a very good and solid team whose played boloivar twice this year and hung in there quit well.so i dont see any team blowing out middleton unless a total disaster. #22 for lake county is a junior for lake county.they have there starting lne up back next year as well as a few back for two years.bet it was a good game to watch.but i decided to go to the haywood game last night against mitchell.

hi tigertiger.i was at the game at haywood tonight.thadeus handles the ball very well as a 6'9 guy but haywood was too much for mitchell tonight for the start of the third quarter on.haywood seemed quicker off there feet and crashed the boards very well.#32 made a statement on one play for haywood.#14 for mitchell(about 6"5) came in to attempt a one handed hard dunk but #32 blocked it with authority like not in here tonight.it was awesome.looked like haywood rose to the occasion tonight.i was very impressed with haywood tonight.

and for aminute i thought haywood was going to hang 100 on mitchell.it was 85-64 with about 3 minutes left.i was realy impressed with haywood getting off there feet quicker and crashing the boards with relentless effort and waring mitchell down.#3 for mitchell kept draining some threes in the second half to keep mitchell in it until haywood kept beating mitchells press.haywoods got an awesome team.it was a barnburner first half with haywood ending the first half with a lob pass in traffic for a dunk to lead haywood to a 45-40 lead and opening the second half with a 8-2 run to open it up more but mitchell wouldnt go away with #3 nailing some threes.haywood really got after it tonight and for a minute thought haywood would score 100 but one heck of a game by haywood.

i called haywood high school after reading this thread.after i drove 30 miles from halls to get one,i overheard one school official say they had about 60 tickets left and 200 mitchell picked up.im only going based upon what i overheard after leaving the school around 1:30 today.not sure what other scenerios are left for other tickets.the doors open up at 5 pm according one guy i spoke too in the main office.the guy said the gym should fill up rather quickly.should be a barnburner of a game.

i sw skogens last year play halls in the first round of the state playoffs last year.skogens is a great player.if trenton and temple should win there substate games then they should hook up against each other if the bracket pairings are the same as last year..doaks is really dominating inside and both are two different type of players.i have a gut feeling that skogens will win it.

trenton never trailed in the game and extended the lead later with a 8 -0 run to start the 4th quarter after leading 52-44 to extend it to 60-44 and never looked back with a 68-51 win.

looks like trenton platyed an awesome game winning 68-51.

trenton leads after three quarter 52-44.lake county went 2-14 in the first half from three point land.

trenton peabody leads at the half over lake county 31-24 with doaks scoring 12 points in the first half.spring had 4 fouls in the first half for lake county and cold shooting.two freshmen for trenton came off the bench in the first half to give trenton a quick spurt after a 8-8 tie to give trenton a 15-8 lead after one quarter.i will give more reports as the game goes along but someone at the game can give better details later.

i remember humboldy pulled the ball out against halls last year because strayhorn did such a good job forcing humboldt to foul that they were trying to milk the clock to avoid some of there players fouling out.dyre county it as well by milking the clock in order to decrease the amount of positions the other team had wih a lead.if the team that is handling the ball handles it well,then,some people shouldnt complain if the team does a good job taking care of the ball.if they were so unathletic or not able to take care of the ball with good skills,then,the better defensive more athletic team could easily still the ball and create easy baskets off of turnovers.i think its just a good strategy when you need to use it.sometimes it can be the best strategy to use if the other team only plays zone and want come out of it when they dont have much dept in a close game with the team in foul troublei remember seeing a girls game one yer where halls beat bradford girls 22-21 the year halls went 28-1.it can be used to make sense at good times and bad time.i saw middleton pull the ball out too early aganst halls in the substate game last year andgot them out of there rhythm and gave halls a chance to get back in the game.it really depends on the situation and who can use the strategy to there advantage in the smartest way.

the last time i saw lake county and trenton play was at the district tournament. lake county really got after them defensively and doaks didnt seem to be much of a factor that game even before him fouling out. when trenton brought in the yancy kid, it really gave them a spark. doaks needs to have a good game as well as trenton playing well against lake counties pressure defense. ive said all along the last few year that this lake county team keeps getting better each season. just think about next years lake counties team as well. this lake county team can be in boro the next few seasons including this year. tony tyler seems to be a good leader for that team but they have several other players who can step up as well.great guard play from #15 and #25 as well although he can go inside as well. trenton has really improved there guard play this season and tomorrows guard play might be the key point in this contest.

middleton was pretty darn good last year as well if they could have gotten by halls last year.i was at the game and middleton had a decent lead until they decided to pull the ball out too early and get out of there rythm.then made a bad mistake not getting help and allowing strayhorn to go one on one without any help hurt.after seeing the other teams compete in the state i figure middleton could have won it all last year as well.they got to be pretty darn good to beat jcs 3 times this year after knowing jcs had 4 of there starters back this season.two bad only 2 teams of the 4 can go to murfreesboro although middle college has a great team as well.but i think middleton has a great chance to get it done this year. mitchell out of AA will give bolivar some trouble if they should meet.

trenton is playing south fulton and wins the first game 78-61.

i just heard on the radio that jcs wins on wet carrolls home floor 74-66.

i just heard that jcs leads 44-37.not sure what quarter.

hey monster man.i watched halls all year and i have to say we played tentively all night.please keep ion mind the same halls team beat sf by 28 earlier this year and beat dyersburg as well and coul;d have beaten lake county as well.we did look pretty bad the worst ive scene us play all year.two of ourt starters didnt even start for reason.even at that,when the starting 5 was in the line up,we played tentively like we couldnt take a bad shot withot getting taken out of the game.not to take anything away from sf because 53 and 51 played well but anytime we had players out there without much playing experiwence all season sf guards took advantage quiickly.it seemed like anytime halls mad a run,sf wuld answer with 2 big threes to end the 1st quarter and the third as well.it was real frustrating to watch this team play thursday night especially how well we been playing this part of the year.but ya got to play your best players and not yank em every little missed shot or mistake played and it showed very oviously in the game.damarcas patrick didnt even play as much in the game.i have to say coach jarrett does a great job for the most part in getting the best out of hios players most of the time but this part thursday night anybody with a clue watching the game could figure it out.i was even watching sf crowd react almost in amazement themselves.sf did shoot the wall well and took advantage of any mistake halls made.i just liked the see the team i saw play late in the year with aggression without fear of making a mistake.we all make mistakes and we all are going to mae them.i think even coaches have bad days as well.i think it was just a total bad day on everybodys part for halls thursday night.at one point i thought we might get back in the game with the score 41-35 and our big man courtney harris going to the line but he missed two free throws and sf went on a 12-2 run the end the third quarter and crush any hope of a comeback.
