  1. Hayes probably deserves to get nominated, I dont know about win but there's no doubt he's a special player. As far as 2A goes I think we all know Boo Weathers has it pretty much wrapped up, and in my opinion he deserves it.
  2. So now that most of the time somebody has lexington picked to lose your gonna cry about it?..Thats what it sounds like to me. Anyways, thats irrelavent. You are incredibly naive in thinking that Hardin County won't be bringing more than Milligan, they are a good ball club who will fight tooth and nail. Good Luck to both teams!. ps..VG, your dying to bust this kid out..please do it..
  3. Who said Melrose is the best team in Memphis? Now to say they haven't been in two years may be debatable. Going 14-1 last year losing to Maryville 7-6 in the championship game in my opinion is a pretty good platform to argue that they may have been the best team in Memphis. With that being said Melrose is definitly the hardest place to play like ridgeway rowdy stated earlier, and I must say that I don't think the Brothers will lay down for anybody. In my opinion they will get beat but maybe not as bad as everyone thinks.
  4. Lexington goes from like #9 in the Dirty Dozen to #1 in a week and nobody gives them respect they "deserve" ??...Lexington has an amazing ball team but to say they aren't getting respect is rediculous. And one more thing, this guy doesn't understand why people on here are picking Hardin County, so everyone needs to quit posting on CoachT, or pick Lexington Isn't this what CoachT is for ??...to talk about the games before they are played and debate the strengths and weaknesses of the teams and who is going to win?.. give me a break dude. Quit your crying.
  5. When people say "West Tennessee" they are usually excluding Memphis. Its kind of understood among football fans in West Tenn. Now if we were including Memphis it would be different. In my opinion Melrose has the best defense. A little off topic but relevant nonetheless.
  6. It would be a travesty if Charlie Jordan from White Station were to be snubbed for the 5a back award nomination..the kid makes a mockery out defenses week in and week out..
  7. This looks pretty good to me, although i think Southside needs to be lower and Harding County needs to be in there...but other than that..looks alright..
  8. The fact that Lexington is known for playing good baseball has nothing to do with football. The Jackson Sun thinks up alot of rediculous polls so is it really worth getting that worked up about it? I believe Lexington is legit, they have great sports programs over there but to say they are #1 in West Tenn. is absurd. Now they definitly should be ranked in the Dirty Dozen, just not #1, Milan, Covington, Huntington would all put the big red Tigers in their place if you ask me. And this is really not the only good football team that Lexington has had, in past years they have had quality teams. I think what your arguing is very reasonable 12yearoldchamps, but I think you need a better platform.
  9. thanks Jax, just wish FA could have produced a little more on offense, hopefully we will provide you guys with a better test come week 3 of the playoffs....good luck on the rest of yalls season!
  10. Today is the day people....the culmination of an anxious week of posting and exchange of information on CoachT. I hope this game is one for the record books as I know everyone else does...GOOD LUCK TO BOTH TEAMS! .... oh yea Damon Pullium is the #3 rusher in the Shelby Metro Area...just thought i'd throw that out there!
  11. well i appreciate that...hopefully FA can win a football game on that field friday.. :justwrestle:
  12. Yea your right, they have been getting screwed for a long time... and by the way who are talking about when you say "they"? are you implying Fayette Academy, Mckenzie, Union City as "they" or are you talking about West Tennessee when you say "they"...and when you say "won anything" are you talking about games, state championships, region championships?...please clarify...and then i will set you straight.
  13. So this is what most students and Fayette Academy fans look forward to each year..the FA/JCS game... in which this year its pretty much the region championship..i dont think many ppl can argue that. With that being said i believe this year's matchup between the Vikings and the Eagles will be quite an interesting one. Fayette Academy comes in at 3-1 as does JCS, in this matchup of tough region opponents. FA has alot of speed in Feathers and Pulliam but thats not all they have. Wide recievers Joe Wentworth and Jake Dowdy will contribute alot more than people think this friday night, Wentworth caught for at least 100 yards in last weeks 32-20 win over West Carroll and is an incredible athlete. Although if FA is to come away with this win they will have to play amazing mistake free football..which is capable but at the same time some may say unlikely..turnovers have been a problem for the Vikings in my opinion this season. FA cannot give the ball up twice a game and expect to come away a victor. While i know all about the great skill players JCS has i have questions about their offensive line, being that they are all new faces, how will these inexperienced players react to FA's defensive line(i am implying that FA's d-line is big and tough) and if they have no trouble with the defense up front how will they handle Damon Pulliam(over 90 tackles last year) and Jarrod Smith (6'2 226); the Viking's linebacking core. I am hoping we will see another great FA/JCS game, much like those of 2003's season, but to do so i believe the Vikings MUST bring their A game and force JCS to make mistakes early. I hope this game has alot of hype surrounding it, but more than that i hope it lives up to the hype. Good Luck to both teams!!
  14. i agree ...the 1a polls didnt look good to me either...where was union city, mckenzie, fayette academy....i'd be willing to bet that half of the teams in that poll couldnt hang with the teams i just mentioned...west tenn. got screwed in my opinion...

when is the first AP poll gonna come out?
  17. could anyone give me some info on how the Manassas/Fayette Academy game went...from the score it looked like a fairly one-sided matchup .... summary, or details would be appreciated!...
  18. Alright, alright...i've been waiting and i've been kind of laying off the boards for this week 1 matchup but i guess i'll give you guys my 2 cents... To be honest i know very little of Bruceton other than that they played Huntington a good game in the jamboree. Now FA on the other hand i know quite a bit more about. I watched Fayette jumped out to a 21-0 first quarter lead on St. Benedict last week, only to crumble in the second half to lose 28-21. The Vikings are beatable, but not without a fight. Damon Pulliam is an incredible athlete at rb and Bruceton will have to keep him in check if they want a chance to win. Also FA qb Blaine Feathers is almost just as dangerous, i dont think its a surprise to anyone when i say FA will run the ball down your throat...That's their game, that's their bread and butter, and when its working, its very difficult to defend it. Now on the other hand, turnovers i understand were a problem for Bruceton and thats also an aspect of the game where FA has to improve. Both teams need to secure the ball in order to play mistake free. Bottom line, i have to go with Vikings in a pretty close game. 27-24... Good Luck to both teams..

    Gibson Co.

I agree with you man, but the thing is they didnt even beat Fayette...let me say this again..jv/varsity whatever...score was 3-2..
  20. Fayette Academy/JCS, 2nd round matchup of '03 playoffs..double ot...anyone who was there knows what went down and how great of a game that was..nuff said...

    Gibson Co.

My friend i believe you are mistaken, the score was 3-2 Fayette Academy, i will recap the touchdowns... Blaine Feathers first play of the game about a 90 yard qb sneak. Blaine Feathers in the left corner of the endzone on a qb option. And then Davis Cocke in the air to te Colby Fitzpatrick. Now i could be wrong on GC's tds but Fayette Academy i know had 3 touchdowns..
  22. this past Friday Gibson County traveled to Somerville to scrimmage the Fayette Academy Vikings in which the Vikings came away with a 3-2 win(touchdowns being 1 point)...but something I have not noticed in past years when the Vikings scimmaged Gibson County would be the bad attitudes and trash talking that Gibson County participated in...not saying FA had nothing to do with it but on 85% of the plays..afterwards a Gibson County player would be in the face of a Fayette player talking trash or being cocky in some way or fashion..i didnt understand this cockiness seeing how GC isnt that good....with that being said FA looked decent .. on the first play of the game senior QB Blaine Feathers scampered up the field about 90 yards for a td. and senior RB Damon Pulliam looked exceptional in an offense that will allow him to showcase his talents plenty of times throughout the season.... all in all FA will win some games this year..i look for the Vikings to bounce back from a season under .500 and head back to their usual winning ways...good luck to Gibson County also, they have a kid at qb who has amazing speed and will do great things for them this year...good luck to all teams!
  23. who does JCS return?...i know they will be losing some key players to graduation but is Reagan gone? or was he a junior?..i know he was good for them last year....i know FA returns most every skill position player...up front is also VERY strong and hopefully the Vikings can compete for a number 1 spot in the region..good luck to all teams!
