I was at the game and saw the sign. It's meaning was not overly apparent (as I know two people with that nickname) or it would have been immediately removed.
Unfortunately, one or two students have put the whole school in a bad light and that has the players, coaches, the rest of the student body and the staff upset.
These few students have caused the discussions to be about their inappropriate behavior instead of the two great, close, hard fought, clean games that have been played by these two teams this year.
I expect the MHS staff to take appropriate action, as they did when they escorted an ex-student out of the gym during this game (for inappropriate behavior).
I can also inform the NCS posters that the person in the orange jacket talking with NCS supporters after the game "is not" the principal or the athletic director at MHS. Get your info straight on who you were talking to.
And while the NCS fans are rightly upset with the sign, I am also upset at the NCS posters using a broad brush to indict the entire student body, staff and town in the incident. That is untrue and classless as well.
I believe there have been enough classless acts on both sides to go around the last two years and it needs to (will) stop.
At this point it looks like the two teams have learned how to play hard and with sportsmanship.
So, I say to both sets of fans, cheer your team on with class.
Otherwise, you need to stay home or expect to be escorted out of the gym!
