  1. Mikie Minor from the Forrest Rockets threw a Perfect game last night against Eagleville. He struck out 15 batters. Forrest won 7-0.
  2. Any player can get better if he chooses to work hard at it. You have to remember you guys are still young and are still growing into your bodies. Anyway, like I said anyone and I mean anyone can improve if they want to.
  3. There is nothing confusing about it, daa21 is not Daniel. It's his father. This opinion of Daniel is not his but of his dad's. Anyone who knows me knows that I have always been his biggest critic while also being his greatest supporter. He has worked very hard this off season to get ready for this season. He tore his ACL during football in Aug. of last year, so to get ready for ball he had to work very hard. Everyone is entitled to their opinion, but like always no matter who you are or what you do the proof will always be shown on the field. Good luck to Marshall County. Hope you guys have a good season.
  4. I don't know what games you have watched, but Daniel has never had a problem blocking balls behind the plate. That is the one thing he has always been able to do beyond a shadow of a doubt. His arm has not always been the strongest but it has always been consistent. If you have followed his career it has gotten stronger every year. This year will be no different. Good luck to you during your season.
  5. To Idgit, I don't know who you are or what you see but Daniel Albarran is a very solid defensive catcher. He has always blocked well and has a decent arm. Daniel has worked very hard in the off season for this coming season.
  6. Also, at Forrest they have a solid junior catcher in Daniel Albarran. He was the starting catcher last year as a sophmore.
  7. Abrigo from Forrest is going at 135 lbs.
  8. The young man who was hurt is Soph. Blake Arceneaux. He bruised the area around his spinal cord in his neck. He is doing O.K. He should be back in a couple weeks. Thanks for asking.
  9. Forrest has only three starters out they are Shane McClaren DL/OL who should be back soon. Jeremy Lamb TB/SS not sure what his time frame is he may or may not be back this year and Daniel Albarran LB/WB who is out for the year with an ACL tear. Forrest had their chances to win the game but it didn't work out that way. It happens like that sometimes. Eagleville is a much improved team and it should be a good game. Good luck to both teams. Go Rockets!!!
  10. Forrest has lost three starters for right now 2 will be back later in the season and 1 won't be back till next year. RB/SS Jeremy Lamb has a fracture in one of his lower vertebrae, might come back towards the end of the season. OL/DL Shane McClaren tore his ACL in spring practice he will be back towards the end of the season. LB/WB Daniel Albarran also tore his ACL during a scrimmage and will miss the entire season.

    Forrest Rockets

He pitched a good game. We made errors we should not have made on routine plays, that and not hitting the baseball along with a real bad call at 2nd base on an attempted steal (the guy was gunned on a steal and the ump called him safe) that would have been the 3rd out instead they score 3 runs after that. Don't get me wrong no excuses when you play a team that is very solid you can't make mistakes. Goodpasture is a very good team with solid pitching and defense. The game should have been 3-0 maybe 4-0 at the most.

    Forrest Rockets

Great season Rockets for having such a young team (5 starting sophomores), hold your heads high and take what you learned this season and apply it to next year. As for the three seniors Bo Cox, Andy Kinsman and Hunter Shankle thankyou for the memories and we wish you the very, very best in your future endeavors where ever they may take you.
  13. With Minor on the mound anything can happen. Good luck to both teams.
  14. Thanks for the directions Roberto, muchly appreciated.
  15. I know from Forrest that Bo Cox, Andy Kinsman, Jeremy Lamb and Mikie Minor were All District. Daniel Albarran and Casey Johnson got Honorable Mention All District.
  16. Forrest won 1-0 in 10 innings. Heck of a pitchers duel. Mikie Minor was the winning pitcher throwing all ten innings while recording 18 strikeouts. I'm not sure of the pitchers name from Summertown but he too pitched a heck of a ball game.
  17. Forrest will play Summertown at Forrest and Richland will play Mt. Pleasant at Mt. Pleasant. Good luck to all the teams. Go Rockets !!!!!
  18. Also, from Forrest you have Cox and Kinsman who are both seniors. They are both taking there game to the college level. Good luck to the both of you.
  19. I agree with Raider16, there is real talent in district 11a. Albarran, Minor and Lamb from Forrest are solid ball players and they are only sophomores. Jackson, Whitworth from Richland too are solid players. Pickett was very impressive for an 8th grader. He has a bright future. There are good ball players from all the teams in district 11a but I would have to type for the next 15 mins. and I don't have time. The district is very well represented.
  20. Forrest and Richland from 11a
  21. Forrest beat Richland 8 to 2 to claim the 11A District Championship after Richland beat Huntland by a score of 5 to 4 in the early game. The winning pitcher was Andy Kinsman. Excellent job by all the Rocket players. Great hitting and defense by all. Congratulations to the Rockets.
  22. We play Richland Tues. at 7:00pm at Gamble Sports Complex in Winchester.
  23. Forrest 8 to 5 winner over Huntland in second round of the 11a district tourney. All around team effort in support of winning pitcher Andy Kinsman.
