Hellooo all. I played in Middle Tennessee and use to be on here all the time, but then college and I graduated and I had to do the grown-up thing and get a real job. I have occeasionally been on here but travel gets the best of me and I have not been on the way I would like. I have been to east tenn and seen some games and definitely have an opinion on them and wish to share it from an unbiassed watcher. At one time I was on the National Ranking Committee for the old Rivals so have some creditablity of my view. I see this DOD as most people say for Farragut's to lose. They have the talent and Coach Culbreth has certainly proved with any team he can make them winner's no matter what. My second place for this District is Maryville not Bearden..... While I believe Culbreth and Turner to be better most than any other Coaches in the state, I have seen Beearden and Maryville and I don't think( but Turner is a great Coach) they can beat the scrappy in your face Maryville. The talent is close to even but what I saw out of Maryville is what I saw out of Farragut last year a young team that really wants to win. Catholic is an upstart in this District and I haven't seen them yet and am thinking this step up may be to big for them but Coach Leader seems to have found some right combinations as eveidenced by their early success. West is good but will beat themselves, by far the worst attitude of players I have seen in years and if things don't go their way they scream all the way down the field. I recently talked to an area ref and he told me NOBODY wants a West game, to much trouble from the West Players. Coach McCoy is a good coach and has proven that in Club but is way over his head unless discipline becomes the norm instead of the occassional response.I watched West and it was exactly as I was told and while a heap of talent is there, they will beat themselves! Bearden as usual has the great defense Turner is Known for but not enough Offensive Punch to win in the big games down the road, but never doubt turner he is always pulling rabbits out of his hat as in the State Championship Bearden won in 2006 with not the best team at the tournament. CAK as usual has enough Club players and talent to be in the AAA division where they would be a good team but not a great team. In their division they are playing with more talent than most schools and again should make a run for the title. I watched them the other day and they are good but not of the caliber of past CAK teams. Alcoa, I suspected this year to be better than they are. They had aenough coming back to make a strong run but as of yet, the game I watched, they have a LONG WAY to go, but still could get there if the coach (can't remember his name) gets their act together the way they should play. Last year their run was a great and wonderful surprise and the coach should be praised but now needs to get on his heeels and wake his team up. Noone else in this area has been seen or up until this time warrants me looking at them , but the seaason is young. I will be back in this area in a couple of weeks and will give an updated opninion at that time. I will be putting this format together for Middle Tennessee as well. The powers I see there are Father Ryan, Brentwood and so far a surprising Centennial.

While there are so many of you on here I want to address as naive ( I did not say ignorant, I said naive) #1) Home school kids are GENERALLY NOT RICH, so stop right there, the majority are not Parents whom can afford Travel teams or private coaching.....You have bought into what politicians say are the elite Rich, not so with these folks, they are parents who don't like the secular world and the teaching of non truths, not necessary biblical but factual history or deviated morals being taught . #2 Those same parents pay taxes just like others , yet there children are not using ANY Tax money which pays for the school the others go to and The Tssaa # 3 Public schools not Good enough is revelant...look at scores of compentency for TN students in public schools yet Home schoolers excel #4..... Private schools can pool enough for many sports , have a location of organization, have parents who can all afford to send them there, have opportunites for sports that homeschoolers don't have........So why deny a child who does not control anything the opportunity to participate???? Whether you realize it or not the foundations this country was founded on are crumbling and homeschooling Parents are trying to hang on while our schools are headed in the other direction.......When you take away homeschoolers from being able to rightfully participate you are indicating that you believe it is ok to stop people over 6' to play basketball they are to tall that is an unfair advantage...I could go on and on with that , but I think you get the gist. If anything Homeschoolers are at a disadvantage because their are not teams with enough players without driving ridiculous distances to play or flat not enough at all, plus they have no District to play in , no rivalries, no real homefield .........No, think this again my friends, we owe all a chance to participate or NONE If there are errors in grammer forgive me I had to hit this topic on the run, but I needed to address this so that some of you were more realistically educated , that is not a cut We all need to learn , I am one who is open because there is so much I too don't know, but I do know, these kids deserve a chance

Ever since Coach T started Middle Tennessee has had great representation...but not anymore where has everyone gone? What happened to the Brentwood threads everywhere and the Franklin's We can beat Brentwood anytime , anyplace. Where are the Riverdale Fans? And Independence is doing so well but never on here. Father Ryan shows up some but where is BGA's and Why is not JPII boasting about what they have done so far/ WHERE ARE YOU MY BROTHERS??????

Thanks for the Clarification Dins8, your explanations is exactly what I meant. The coaches will have to bring their very best game also. I played in Middle Tennessee and back then the Farragut Bearden game had more interest than our games over here. When Coach T started it was the most written about game with the most posters of any thread. Today it is just another thread.interesting.............I think the game still generates alot of interest but the posters have diminished. The posters on this thread usually fan out about even, but this year it seems other than the IhavenoFreiends poster, Farragut people are not on here. I have to admit that I haven't had the opportunity to watch enough of the two teams this year but from the threads you would think Bearden is unstoppable and will clean the floor with Farragut. I really can't see it that way since Bearden seems to have stumbled more than Farragut has. I also saw one poster say they were surprised Farragut beat West, Why? Intrigued; maybe, Interesting game ;Maybe ....but surprised? NO WAY!! Farragut is always good and West beating Bearden doesn't prove they were better than Farragut as proven by the outcome with Farragut's win. Based on current results and overall production using statistical analytical data, Posters should be surprised if Bearden beats Farragut. Oh and the coaching thing I agree Turner is good, real good but Farragut's coach gets the job done and is every bit as good if not better and I like his chances. I will stay with Farragut 2-1.

I will agree with you past records don't matter and coaching will be alot of this game. But I do disagree Bearden can't be touched, they have been 3 times 2 losses and a tie. I know you said on their game but that just makes them a good team , great teams slip once, sometimes it is in the playoffs. I don't think any rivalry team takes their opponent for granted. I will take Farragut 2-1 in this one,

[ Great game from both sides! Cant wait to watch Bearden/Farragut on Friday:) Bearden should be nice and angry after a LOSS to West, and then a TIE from LC. Eric Turner will have his team ready! You can count on that !!!!!!! I would have thought Coach Turner would have had his team ready for LC after losing to West and maybe they were that round ball takes some odd bounces sometimes and can make a game look close when it is really not. I agree that Coach Turner will have his team ready , he always does for big games. Great Coaches prepare their teams for big games and that is why they win so much as evidenced by Bearden's great runs every year, great coaching but when they play Farragut Turner faces his nemisis, another good coach that gets his team ready as well. I will be driving over for this one.

I would say West definitely has it's fans on here and Congratulations on beating Bearden. Must have been a banger of a game from what I heard from a friend who was there. I really wanted to come but couldn't get over there. I have seen Farragut 1 time this year and West twice. True, Farragut has had a time scoring for some of the year(South Doyle 3-1 and Lenoir City 2-1) but they don't give up many goals and all things being considered I like Farragut in this one 2-1. I know West brings alot to the table, Farragut just always seems to get it done when it has to in the last couple of years.

West's talent will be their downfall. I have watched West this year twice and am amazed at the whining that goes on by their Stars????, I haven;t seen a team do that as much in years. Their coach REALLY should get a handle on that! Because of that they will have a hard time coming together in big games. Oh, they will give anyone a fit but when the heat is on and they are whining they tear down their whole team worse than their opponents. Bearden can hold their cool. Bearden 2-1

OK, your apoplogy is accepted but if you weren't being arrogant you sure were cocky. Your Brag got ahead of your feet. Unless the other team laid down which I doubt... There is NO WAY you got off 56 shots unless you kicked it over the end line everytime you touched the ball without any passes. Think about it you are saying every 1 minute and 25 seconds of the game you shot towards the end line, be real NO ONE EVER does that! When you are involved in the action The fish sounds bigger everytime you tell the story. If ya'll are as good as you say we will see when you play upper bracket teams.....until then let your feet talk NOT your mouth and you never have to apologize. These are wise words from an older player who has been where you are now......your time will come and your games will tell the story........

You have to judge the player by his competition and who else is on his team, that is why Fabregas may be good but you cannot compare him to Morrisey or Webster who play at a high level every week and still shine.

Eurosport just creates the webpage to post the rankings. There is a coach that post the votes across the state from other coaches. I am sure they are voting and don't know why the person in Tennessee responsible for the rankings is not posting them. It is a shame because everyone likes to see how they are perceived and how someone is ranked they are playing. Tell your coaches to get on to find out who is supposed to be posting it and get on his posterior, IT IS WAY UNFAIR TO MANY TEAMS AND FANS!!!!!!!

Granted you are in a better position to judge than I am since you are the (coach?) of CAK, But how can anyone be placed above you until they beat you or you lose toany another team.....How can anyone judge the strength of teams until there has been more Head to Head Matches? At this point I stick with the original thought , you are #1 until someone beats you OR until someone gives a reason (such as a team maintained all their players off of last years great team and the State Champion didn't.) In the case of you and Farragut that is not true noone beat you that returned all their players and really NOONe returned everyone.

Hey, I agree with on the pitch....if you want to legitimize your rankings, Your the Champ until someone Beats you and Right Now...... Farragut And CAK are the Champs.

You are right on CBHS, They will own the West and I should have put that in there. That was a brain fart, Blackman is a very good team in AAA, just not as good as Cookeville to me or a final 4 team in the state. Cookeville's future only goes as far as their matchup in Murfreesboro IN other responses A/AA Catholic and CAK are really in a class by themselves unless they play a really bad game , which can happen to any team........Ask Brentwood, Farragut, and even CBHS. However my outside favorite on this A/AA is CSAS In Div II You are right about MBA and maybe McCallie, Baylor while a good team has really struggled the last 4 games and may not be up to the challenge, Father ryan can play but still WEbb is better than all of them except maybe CBHS AAA I'll stick with Beaden anf Farragut owning the east. Mcclosky has done well with D/B this year but them and Science Hill even with Ediie Yah are no match for those two come tournament time.

I am back! I have found that my new job requires too much time and travel and I may have to drop off the rankings board, HOWEVER, it is now time to talk Tourney Time in Tennessee. I wish we had these boards when I played to get everyone's engine running and find out the scoop on each team. But 10 years ago, no one had computers like today or much less how to use them and the Internet was just a someday..............Anyway, I have done my homework around the state and while I admit my preseason rankings were a bit off, I still believe my early predictions will play out in the State Tournaments,,,,,,,,,,, Ok, so let's go, Some good teams will be shocked during tournament time. But the Horses who year in and year out make it to the state tournament will show up no matter what they have done thru the year. A Few have learned to step up and I believe Cookeville will be a winner in their district and Region, but after that it will be based on whom they play whether they can advance. Catholic in Knoxville It could be their year and while I am on Knoxville, lucky for CAK they will not have to meet them until the State Finals and even as strong as these teams are either could be upset but not until the actual tournament in Murfreesboro, I think Webb has been over looked by the Div II teams as being the real powerhouse but if they can stay healthy, WEBB can win the State Tournament. in AAA Houston will own the West and deservedly so, and in the Center of the State in AAA could have a shocker moving on, Everyone expects Brentwood and Hendersonville to be the two, one will not make it to the State Tourney....East Tenn will still be owned by Farragut and Bearden and this will be Bearden's tournament to lose. They are playing well, but I still feel would struggle if they get behind. They came back on Catholic, but have really not been behind enough to know if they can repeat, but I like their odds alot . Alot of key games tonight, so maybe I am ahead of myself, but time will tell........

I agree Guess everyone deserves to be on the field. I see parity for the last couple of years everywhere. The middle has their powers , so does the east and west. The east is just stronger overall in their parity. Scrimmages, This is why I never go to them, who knows what anyone is doing and to call any scrimmage a win is crazy, although I do see some teams on here saying we were in total control so we put in our Subs or JV. Get real, if you are a smart team, that is when you play the SUBS orJV, LOTS! I will be giving strength updates as I get them across the state, when the season starts. Good Luck to all~!

Let me jump back in on this topic. I hope that my new job will allow me to follow these threads more closely and see more games this year, but right now they have me everywhere. I don't see any of the teams Big G mentions as being able to take his team although Catholic and Maybe Scheimmerhorns Notre Dame could be a stubbling block. Well,CPA maybe , the rest no way. Ok for some reason CCS surprises people sometime and may this year but FRA will not this year. What I see CAK's biggest threat is bad luck. To win any State Championships, you have to be good but you also need a few bounces. Now I am not throwing the whammy at CAK, because I don't have that power and the history shows the one who does have the power to be in the favor of CAK.... Big G has done a great job, and has people wanting to go to CAK to play. There is an old saying , you make your own luck, that has merit but the problem with soccer is the ball makes it on bounce. Spring rankings will be out soon on Student Sports, although, our first post will just be our 50 top teams, and yes CAK you will be in there

Let me restate a previous statement,on 3 accounts #1 MJUB knows soccer and does as good or better than anyone in the state from a small town keeping up with BOYS AND GIRLS soccer! #2 My statement on his preseason rankings was not written right, I meant he is the expert in GIRLS, but he does agreat job on boys #3 After seeing his list of top players, I take a back seat to his knowledge. I don't rate the players I rate teams so maybe you can help me on my Topic MJUB, I can use all the help I can get MY TOPIC- TOP TEAMS in the state, Ex. Just your first 3 in each division THANKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks Coach ! It is very humble to not put on your team on the list, but I know better you still have some old and some new and some back from Fla. . A kink in your thoughts though and this is why I need input. Catholic's Coach has resigned. He will have some input and assist but day to day technical Knowledge is gone! The new guy is a nice coach but no where near the talent Rosenbald was. They will be good but lost a lot last year and the coaching change will prove Coaches do make a difference no matter what the level of Talent. Please3 tell me about CAK. I need this type of input!! I need this info by Feb13th for some rankings actually at the national level. So here are my rules: Give me your top 3 teams and the Div (ex you can name me 3 from all 3 Div (ie:AAA, A/AA Div2) but I need your reasons why!!! You don't have to do but 1 Div., I only want the info you know and can make a case for! This should not be a comment board because you disagree with someone's picks, unless you know some inside scoop like that teams best player quit, was kicked off, or along those lines which would reduce a Team's Power. PLEASE ,PLEASE don't get on here about a team unless you can back it up in your reasoning and not that you just feel that your team should be good. Ethnocentricty, is great but Please don't use this to sell your own team unless you have a case and can convince me by your reasonings!!
