Tyler Woodruff from Sevier County is a pretty good athlete. 100 - 10.98 200 - 22.97 400 - 50.75 800 - 2:03 300IH - 42.2 Long Jump - 19-4 Triple Jump - 40-5 This has been his best marks in his first three meets. I am not sure how this ranks with other athletes but I think it is pretty impressive.

JC4life, I do not know where you are getting the "good ol boy network"from. I played at Jeff. Co. for four years, and my brother played there for four years and I have never witnessed any coach playing a kid based on family ties or any other ties. Every player that started or played did so based on talent and the fact that they were the best person for that position. I do not know if you were a bench warmer or if you had a friend that was, but you are completely wrong about the the politics of Jeff. Co. football. The record of Coach K proves that he put the best players in the game.

I talked to the track coach at Maryville yesterday and he said that he saw the Sevier County kid at the South Doyle meet on Tuesday. He said that he long jumped 19-4, ran a 10.98 in the 100, a 2:03 in the 800, and then led off the 4x400 relay in something like 52.

I was just wondering who the new kid was at Sevier County. Last night, SC ran their first track meet of the year and they had a boy run an 11.2 in the 100, a 50.75 in the 400 and then 20 minutes later, he ran a 22.9 in the 200. Does anyone know who this kid is and where he came from...he was very impressive!

bball35, yes Sevier County did play Pigeon Forge but without Tina Broyhill and Melissa Uner, who everyone will say are the best two players on the team and would account for the other thirty or forty points. Sevier County beat Pegion Forge by about 25 and played mostly freshmen.

Seymour, is that who Sevier County is playing thursday night? I knew is was one of those South Knoxville (I mean Sevier County) teams. Either way, like I said before, if your playing in a game in Sevier County and your nickname is not Bearrretts, you just got your butts handed to you. One win in 28 years is no reason to brag. I heard that the Seymour girls team and their parents had a meeting with the coach and priciple due to innerteam problems. Is this true Seymour fans, is your team falling apart? Sevier county would have beaten Pegion Forge by at least fifty or sixty points instead of a measly thirty-one.

No joking here. I think Coach Huskey is the best coach in East Tennesse every year. I have seen him coach circles around other coaches(especially his favorite play, you know #4). Seriously, he does an outstanding job preparing these ladies for every game. He is a class act win or lose and never gives the blame or shame to anyone. One win does not put you on the map, as some Seymour fans want to think. If they can win at SC then they can say something, but I think Coach Huskey will have these girls so fired up that they may score 50 in the first quarter. My prediction is SC 75-42. Sound insane, just wait and see. I would also like to give a lot of credit to Coach Ward and coach Ownby because they are also great coaches and give a lot of assistance in getting the girls ready day in and day out.

Hey Coach Huskey, I just wanted to wish you the best of luck tonight against Cocke County because I know that is the only game on your mind right now. I would also like to wish you luck in your final regular season game on Thursday against that one team that is from the same county (I cannot remember their name). It does not really matter what their name is because if their name is not Sevier County, then they just lost.

Hey Brittany Spears 24, You sure do talk a lot of crap which tells me one of two things...You are either a bench warmer, or you never had the courage to play football in the first place. I remember somebody earlier in this thread telling McMinn County fans to act like we have been here before, but all I have heard from McMinn County fans has been about a truthful sickness (which does play a role in the game), how our team will rise to the test, and how DB has a great tradition in both team and fan support. It sounds to me like the Kees' fans are the ones acting like they have been here before and are displaying some class, while most of the DB fans on here are showing class as well. However, just like always, one dumb #@% brings the whole class average down. So take some lessons from the McMinn County fans and DB fans such as Bud, Skunk and others and get some class. Govman, I do not know if you have ever payed any attention to high school athletes for four years. I have and the one thing I have learned is that some get faster but most do not. You can never predict the future and whether or not a kid will get faster. And as far as explaining words to me, I have this feeling after listening to you talk that I am not only more educated than you, I am a whole lot smarter. Hey Govman, World class 200m times...I thought a football field was only 100 yards long. Anyway, I have seen this Walker guy run track and I have also seen Houston blow his doors in the 200m. How did Walker finish in the 200m at the state track meet...Oh, I forgot, he shaved his head and still did not qualify in any events. When are you going to realize that the liitle Blount County world you live in is not reality. I have even seen these guys play on the field and they are not impressive there either. Just for the record, people in Jefferson County have plenty of class, but we have no patience for people who get on websites and say stupid stuff. Come on Govman, even you have to have some sense about yourself.

You must be insane to think that anyone from Jeff. Co. will be impressed with anyone's speed at WB after watching Scooter Houston. Just a little friendly statement. Tribecan is a big fan of McMinn County, which by the way makes all McMinn County fans mad. I am a fan of...Well, good question. I like the Kees for certian un-named reasons but this Tribpan can make anyone hate the team he roots for. I just am up in the air. I can say that I am not a fan of OR, DB, or SHHS. All good programs but I am not a fan.

You got that right, and there is nothing that we can do to help the situation. We just have to sit back and let these 15-18 year olds decide who wants to go to practice on Monday and who wants to go home after school. This is when high school football becomes so much fun.

Bud, you are right about McMinn. It does seem like a long shot. I have watched Jeff Co., DB, SH, OR, and McMinn play, and all five have a shot at making to the semi-final game. I do not make my prediction based on talent alone. I just think that the Cherokees have a good offense that can score on any play from scrimmage and a sound defense. However, it is hard to beat any DB team at home and very hard to beat a DB team like this years wether they are at home or on the road. As far a SHHS, they are good but I question them just because I think they have only played one good team this year so far and they lost. I think Jeff Co. is the team to beat in the playoffs, but I think with Coach Hutchins knowing the players and the offense at Jeff Co., I think he can get a win...even in Dumplin Valley.

Here is my honest prediction...No fooling around this time. Round 1 Oak Ridge v. Sevier co. McMinn v. Science Hill Jeff. Co. v. William Blount DB v. SD Round 2 Oak Ridge v. Jeff Co. DB v. McMinn Co. Round 3 Jeff Co. v. McMinn Co. I think Jeff Co. will win if McMinn cannnot find a way to stop Houston and Jennings. If they do, I think McMinn County wins because I do not think Jeff. Co. can go with a one-dementional passing offense and have total success. I also do not think that Jeff. Co. defense can stop McMinn's offense. McMinn's ones consistency this season has been their defense. With all of that said: Round 4 Lincoln Co. v McMinn I make this prediction with a humble heart souly because of Tribepan. He has not made one intelligent comment all year but I think this is how it will play out. I still think that if the top four teams in each region played 10 games against one another that region 1 would be the best region. However, I just think that McMinn is hot and I think their style of playing is going to give SH, DB, and JC problems. Tribecan is still an idiot though...I want to make that point very clear.
