  1. I am extremely surprised Farragut beat William Blount. The Govs had to have overlooked Farragut. One of the biggest surprises all season, IMO.
  2. Great rankings Irishburn, and I understnad about the weakness of Catholic's schedule, but trust me, there are not a lot of teams that have a better line offensively and defensively than Catholic. All athletic and big, and mmost importantly, smart on the field. I can assure a win over Wartburg, and a good game against BGA. Have you watched Catholic play this year? If not, I would say they are better than MUS (went to an MUS game with some alumni who went to Catholic's game with me and they said Catholic is MUCH better, but I don't think so from seeing both teams, although I do think they are better) and probably worse than BGA, and I would say a game between ECS and Catholic would be VERY good. About the last game Catholic had that was against a really great team where Catholic played were last year's MBA game (21-14 MBA @ MBA), Briarcrest in state semifinals (21-7 (?) @ Catholic) to the eventual state champs.
  3. Wow, apologies all around Kendren, stupid for me to think there are no jobs related to middle school football like reporting and whatnot. I retract my statements about "obsessed parent" or whatever it was I posted. Again, I apologize.
  4. I assure I'm not reading anything regarding the middle school football teams Kendren, read my previous post on this. I just check to see if anyone agrees or disagrees with my post, and I'm sure you're one of the other insane adults discussing your feeder program on this thread. I am shocked people are still discussing, let's look at this, 12-14 year old KIDS who people are trying to project into high school. I could care less whose pee wee team is undefeated, and if you do, please by all means, get help. I am just concerned about the adults on this site discussing this. Don't you have better things to discuss on this site? Like HIGH school football? All of this just goes to show how exaggerated sports in this country. Now don't get me wrong I love football and everything, but the idea of spending a Thursday night watching pre teens play football and then running home to my computer to talk about how great my nephews team is just not very enticing. But if thats your thing Ken, then by all means, discuss. Just don't expect for anyone that has a life to care.

  6. I'll agree with you then bud. I've seen both players only once, and if you are correct, then nobody in the state should have a stronger arm than Ferguson.
  7. Thank you redrage. NO ONE CARES!!!!!!!!
  8. Whoever is saying Cunningham from CAK is the best QB, get real. They pass the ball constantly, that's it. Period. He may have size, but to see real QBs in the Knox area, check out Justin Long for Fulton, Harris (ATHLETE!) for AE, Ishii for Catholic, and Helton for Central. Four best in Knoxville easily. I'd take 10 or 11 QBs in Knoxville ahead of Cunningham, and as for their receivers, HA. And a stronger arm than Ferguson for D-B? Try Wolke at Smyrna.

    Carter vs West

After seeing both schools play, I think Carter has it. They have the better team. West may have Wiliford and the RB, but they have little else. I say Carter wins by two TD's.
  10. sure he runs a 4.3. I wonder who held that stopwatch?
  11. FHSRebel you're missing the point. It didn't have to be locked in the football forum because it did deal with Tennessee high school football. There are threads on here that are a lot more off the topic of Tennesse high school football than the one that was locked. It has nothing to do with making another click, it just didn't need to be locked. Now watch this thread get locked here in a while.
  12. ok, I'll reply. This is a stupid thread. Catholic has some good DE's, especially Patrick Horton, who just has all the tools.
  13. OK, please coacht lock this post. I mean, come on, it's bad enough to have grown men on here talking about high school football, but middle school? If you don't have a son that plays, please, by all means, don't post about your alma mater's pee wee feeder program. I mean this is just too much. Sports are already blown way out of proportion in this country, but scouting reports on seventh graders? Come on guys, talk up some college or NFL.
  14. Van Horne is great, McAlister is better than him already and he is a WHAT? only a junior? It's true but second to McAlister is Van Horne, to be sure.
  15. I think they are asking for Div. I AAA, not Div. II AAA, but yeah, in that division, Christian Brothers is probably the best D with MBA running a close second. As for D I AAA, I'm going with AE. Those linebackers are tough, especially McAlister.
  16. I actually went to a rival school of Webb's, and I would love nothing more than them to lose to Bearden, but.............. it's not gonna happen. You ever thought why your team did so well against D-B but lost to lesser teams? It's because D-B overlooked you guys and to Webb, this is a big game. In conclusion, Bearden loses to Webb, and then you realize your team may not be as good as you realize.
  17. Ha Ha, people are saying Bearden over Webb? Ok, they say third time's the charm. Maybe Bearden will learn that they can't play football at the 5A level and expect to compete for anything. Sorry guys, you're a basketball school with no football program whatsoever. Webb by 14.
  18. Yeah, 4AFAN, you're right, I am just some kid who thinks Catholic can compete with Fulton, AE, and Central. I mean, I'm sure you think all of these things because you have seen Catholic play right? Or wait you haven't? Like I said before, come to the BGA game, you'll be surprised. Oh, and by the way, I don't attend Catholic. I'm not in high school, just a fan of high school football, and I have seen the aforementioned teams this year as well as William Blount and many others, and I am just saying I believe Catholic is one of the Top 5 teams in Knoxville this year. They defeated Fr. Ryan, a team in the Super 7, and while probably about 8 teams in Knoxville could beat them, I seriously doubt a lot of the higher classification teams in Knoxville could beat them, such as Farragut, Bearden, or West. I know these aren't the best teams Knoxville has to offer, but they are all put ahead of Catholic in alot of peoples' polls. Oh, and GovMan, you really need to check out Catholic's basketball team this year, they will hark back to the glory days of Gettlefinger's old teams!
  19. Oh, and Govman, William Blunt better size and speed than Catholic? HA.
  20. I have seen every team in Knoxville this year, with the exception of a few teams that don't even factor into this top 10, and I understand that you higher classification guys can't possibly believe that Catholic is better than your beloved Farraguts, Beardens, AEs, etc. but the fact of the matter is they pretty much are. I'm not trying to start a huge argument over who is better, but I have seen every abovementioned team pretty much and Catholic's lines on both sides of the ball are the best I have seen all year. And we all know that it starts with the line. As for skill position players, Catholic may not be the fastest team in Knoxville, but they have some of the better technique guys around in terms of tackling, blocking, route-running, etc. So before you guys lose your heads bc all of a sudden Catholic has actually been ranked higher than your team, go check them out on a Friday night, especially when they play BGA, who I can honestly say is better than ANY team in Knoxville.
  21. Barber isn't as good as Riggs was, and he isn't even the best in the state. Jackson from Central is the cream of the crop in Tennessee, with Levonte Barber running a close second.
  22. Unlike most everyone on this thread I have actually seen both teams play and I can just about guarantee a Central win. Central just has too many athletes, and as much as I like Ryan Moore and McCallie's defense, I just don't see how McCallie could possibly win. I may be wrong, but we'll see...
