William Blount throw the ball probably 80% of the time last season. Much of that due to the recievers they had this year. They will have a very speedy backfield next season with Brad Walker. I am sure they will utilize him more next season.

If Phelps was to apply he's already teaching in the Blount County School System so he wouldn't have to move or change schools. It seems it would be more convenient for him to apply than any of the other coaches listed.

Gov, Who was the coach at Alcoa before Meadows it wasn't Phelps was it? I was thinking there was a few years in between the two. You aren't insinuating that an old Alcoa coach has put in for the job are you?

Coach Reed was the weight lifting teacher. They did have a very talented group of seniors come through this year, but just couldn't seem to win the games they had to win. Next year will be a rebuilding year, but they do have a few talented rising seniors including qb Craig Wojo.

I sorry if your son plays for Greenville or if you are just a fan, but there is no way they will finish first in there class. I saw them play Maryville in substate and they looked terrible. If Maryville wouldn't have been playing like a middle school team they wold have beat them. I don't know if they just had an off night or what was going on, but Malone and #22 (sorry don't know his name)where the only thing they had in that game.

I think people don't give bearden enogh credit. When Cruze left the team alot of people just counted them out of doing anything in the tournaments. I got to watch them play William Blount and I was very impressed. I think WB will have to come ready to play to beat this Bearden team agian. Congratulations on the win.

Maryville vs. William Blount should be a good game who do yall think will prevail as district champs.

tfm, you named three out of what close to a hundred students who play basketball in blount county. to say that it's a common practice to hold players back in blount county is wrong.

William Blount has Brad Lafoy 6'10" - 6'11" and Bobby Golden who is 6'7" both are outstanding ball players.

Yes they are making a late run which I think has alot to do with the return of Landers. As coach Bledsoe put it in the paper after their win the other night "she makes everyone on the team better."

I think Cait will be better than Sade by her senior year.

I have heard reports of Chris McCords having a knee injury. Is this true and will it hurt his ability to play next season?

This was a really good game. Free throws no doubt is what lost the game for WB. I think WB missed four foul shots in the last minute. I think we did a good job holding Lee to only 10 points.

I'm with you GovMan. I think WB has a chance, but Golden and Lafoy are going to have to come ready to play. The girls on the other hand might as well forget about a victory I was at the Maryville game Tuesday as soon as Landers came into the game it was over they never looked back. Josh Lawhon is an amazing football player. If you did not get a chance to watch him this season you really missed out. He is very fast for his size and hits like a full truck. Matt Oliver from Maryville isn't to bad himself (defensive MVP in the state championship game should mean somthing)
