  1. its been a while since i have been on here, and apparently alot of things have changed in my former beloved conference. What happened to Chucky from Volunteer? I know i havent been home in a while but i figured i would have heard something about him. So who are the best players in the conference? I figure that Happy Valley has a couple of them, i think they were sophmores when i was in school, Bowman and Caldwell, and from what ive heard they can play a little bit but how bout some other names?
  2. MLK over Fulton- To Much Johnny Lee Bolivar over Raleigh Egypt- This game is way to tough to call. I actually flipped a coin to make my prediction. Jackson South Side over Haywood- Southside is playing well. Went to Giles and won and from what has been said won rather easily. McMinn Central over Alcoa- Now I am banking this pick on that the younger players do not freeze up. IF not then Central will be alright. Now which ever team whens in the last game might as well pack it up and go home. It will be VERY tough to get past Southside or Haywood. MLK plays a slow down type of game. If they are able to dictate the tempo it might frustrate Fulton and Johnny Lee is a wonderful point guard. The other two games are going to be dandies. It is a flip of the coin with both. Those two games might determine the matchup in the finals.
  3. Hey Henry...its your old boy BJ... how ya been buddy? Anyways, My boys are struggling. Losing to Hv at home, and Johnson County at home after beating them both on the road? I think? Geez. I did not know that chucky had not scored double figures in 2 games. Maybe i need to read a little but more. Maybe its the others that need to be more consistent? I dont know. Maybe I need to be quiet. But tell Coach Whitt and the rest of the team good luck for me. I hope they can feel whats it like in Murfeesboro. Whats this about Volunteers enrollment? Isnt there another school with that same problem? What will they have to do, move up? And then they would be in the Intermountain Conference right?
  4. Whats wrong with the Watauga? It seems that no one team can play consist on any given night. Volunteer, you guys have a good team...but to make it far into the post season you have to play consistent. Last year we may not have always played our best game but it was always a consistent game. Chucky has got to get used to playing with a box and one or any defense that is thrown at him. From what i have read, and i do say read because i have not seen them play, the rest of the team has gotten a lot better but for Volunteer to win chucky has got to score at least 10-15 consistently. I mean one night I'll read on this and he'll score like 25 and then the next game score 8. Trust me, I know that some nights the ball is not going to fall, but still a scorer has to find a way to score. Maybe thats what happened against Central I dont know. How much is Jacob Frazier avg? To be a great team you gotta have a 2 maybe even 3 scoring threats. Now you have your two but who is the third after Chucky and Frazier? I am asking not trying to prove a point.
  5. tn high may get ripped another one if you all know what i mean. im sorry but tn high will not be able to play a zone against BC. If they do it will be a long night. yes bc will have trouble guarding porter and the point guard Buchannon? can play somewhat but how will ths stop Hare, Pickle and Pugh???
  6. We havent made any excuses..why start something that was brought up a long time ago? Yeah you all beat us, CONGRATULATIONS. We made no excuses, handled it with class and went on our way. And I dont think anybody ever said it was an upset. Anybody in our conference could beat any team on any given night. We didnt play very well and it just happened to be on a very important night. You all did what you needed to do to win. Good luck to you all the rest of the way. Just dont bring up old news to start a new flame. Congrats to HV. Hopefully you can get down the road. I'll be pullin for ya. BJM
  7. Nick Crowe, who now plays for UT, hit one at Joe O'brien field in Elizabethton that hasnt come down yet.
  8. Unaka better be ready is all i gots to say.
  9. You all are lucky this wasnt a conference game. We didnt have half our starters in and it was just my 3rd day back. Wait till conference games come around before you start talking that $#!^ that everyone else is talking [Edited by whatever on 3-26-03 9:33P]
  10. was Jason Witten not from ET? and is he not one of the Top tight ends in this years draft? I think he is helps justify that ET has top individual talent
  11. I think i know what everyone is talking about the player shaking the refs hand. Well that was me. I didnt mean anything by it. If you watched the game and im sure most of you did...I missed a free throw and threw the ball back at the ref and it hit him below the belt. And out of respect or whatever you want to call it i apologized to him. Everyone knows how "testy" that ref is. I was just making sure he wasnt going to get to "testy"
  12. tough game tonite...fun to play in and be a part of. Gettin home at 1:30 in the moring doesnt help anything though. Ah well. Personally i feel like the bus ride home provided a good chance for us as a team to come closer. I think a different Elizabethton team will show up in the tourney. This loss will get us refocused and ready for the district. Tourney time is the fun part of the season. Its time for the real teams to show what theyve really got. G'luck to all teams in our district and every other district
  13. yes illpette i remember playing volunteer in baseball...
  14. Elizabethton @ Sullivan Central on tuesday. Should be a good one. Elizabethton could pretty much wrap up the conference with a win with Central and Volunteer still to play each other twice. Central is playing well right now and would love to take the cyclones down. I think the cyclones pull it off but in a close one. Their experience in big time games will give them the edge. Now what does everyone else think?
