  1. It's going to be one heck of a game! Come on out and support your team this Thursday night. There is going to be a lot of people there, + it is on Thursday night lights.
  2. Only way MJ gets slowed down is if they slow themselves down--penalities, turn-overs, miscues. NOT BY Siegel! Perry runs a tight ship like no other--his team will be well prepared. COUNT ON IT!
  3. Good luck with that, you will have your hands full with MJ.
  4. Yes, I wasn't commenting on their ability to get to the playoffs and what happens once there. They run the same things week in and week out, they just run them BETTER than anyone. Execution is key. dosn't matter who you face or what they run, you must execute your plan better. I believe those kids are committed to the task. I simply don't think Hendersonville has a prayer.(no offense H-ville, MJ simply has a better team) Who knows what the playoffs will bring, but i'm betting MJ will keep doing what they do best.
  5. Advice for stopping MJ, find (Moses)and pray 24 hrs. everyday for the next (Til game starts). Just a suggestion.
  6. Classical game; this is what true football fans dream of. Nail bitters and lot's of smash-mouth football.
  7. I know 2 coaches from FC and both are saying this will be an easy victory.
  8. Funny, Rutherford has how many state champions in last 20 years? Funny, Sumner has how many state championships in last 20 years? Not funny, Wilco has how many? Remember this Wilco fans, Wilco is not a top notch region! FACT
  9. Riverdale's schedule is tougher! Siegels schedule is light besides district!
  10. i just want to see the best athlete on the field for the owls. According to dad4owl, the best athlete is on the field. It is the QB! Why change? The ball is always in his hands and he makes althletic plays to win games. You win some and you lose some. This other kid, what has he done to stand out? Not practice either, I'm pretty darn good in practice!
  11. Yes sir, that was my first year with Moose. Very excited game, but the next year was even more exciting at MTSU. Do not remember score, but we took the ball on first play for about 80 yards with a back-up running back (Logue). Ross; the starter, had a bad ankle but still managed 80 yards for the game. We held you guys on the thirteen. 2001 we saw another exciting game at Oakland when Forrest had an outstanding game. Sad though, 911 happen week before. A little controversy during that game, but it slipps my mind to what. Under Brown's fist year, A.J. Stewart took over the game with some play making ability against a top ranked Oakland team. He works at Toot's there in the boro. Great kid! My last year under Brown, we were down 21 points at half. Brown didn't go hog wild on the kids at all. Didn't even yell. Calmly made adjustments, we scored 28 points in 3:46. Went own to win 43-27 I believe. Very exciting games in deed. I've been with Coach Perry the last 5 years at MJ. Their big games seem to come against Beech, but not much luck as of late! Lot's of exciting football in deed and all fun. I love good games and good match-ups!
  12. Moose is respected all over middle Tn! I know that for a fact. He brought me over to Wilson County several years ago! I owe a lot to the guy. He stood by his coaches and let us coach. I hated how LHS done him at the time, but he is doing very well at his home town in G-Ville. My wife use to sit near his at the games and was amazed at how much football she knew. I still see Davy today at work and always try to say "Hey" every time I see him. Great football family. His weight room program is second to none, if I ever get a chance to run a program or weight-room program, I would model it after his. So, 2priceless you haven't said much that I already don't know. I respect your wisdom and knowledge of your beloved Patriots over the years and you have always talked good of Moose. I'm sure you guys are friends. As far as Creasy, I heard he isn't interested, but i've been wrong before. Creasy would be a good hire though. As far as a new guy, Lebanon needs to take a guy that has proved HE can win. Some good advice to the new coach! Who ever gets the job, you will have some very big boys on the o-line "Beef". A very good Tight-end who can stablize a block. The maynard kid; my own personal belief, needs to be at the tail-back position if running the eye. He is a ball player, but not a throwing QB. Athlete, he is. Run a lot of zone blocking schemes. Need to get out some basketball players (athletic guy's) as Wr's. If you run a spread type offense or single back, then keep maynard at QB. Use him as much as possible in the offense. They usually have some good speedy backs, but they're usually as big as my 9 year old daughter with tons of heart. As you can see, I'm an offensive minded coach. I will not take this away from Bobby though, give the boy's a chance to win. Bobby took chances against those Rutherford County schools and won some big games! My six years there under Moose and Bobby, we beat Oakland 5 out of 6 tries. Sorry, 2p!
  13. Must agree with you Kevin! That year was the best and funest year of my coaching career. And I have had a lot in Wilson County while under Moose, Brown, and Perry. Those kids were special and did what you asked of them! All of them where yes sir/no sir kids and worked hard for us. I still see many of them around Lebanon or I see their parents. Those parents let us coach and didn't complain like parents do today! I've been around the county (Lebanon & Mt. Juliet) the past 12 years and the atmosphere on the field is basically the same. You have players that are willing to work hard and you have some that feel they are entitled to something becasue of what they did in Jr. high or Pee-Wee. I can deal with that--just don't like dealing with the parents! As for Brown, he's the guttest coach I've been around and that made him exciting! BROWN and the LIFT will return! He's a good coach! Good luck coach Freemo
  14. Since it is early season then --Mt. Juliet beat Columbia 42-14 in the spring. I guess that makes MJ that much better than them. I always thought playoffs (tournment) was a new season with winners in their respected classes! I'm glad we are adding preseason to this.
  15. 1. Alcoa 2. Ensworth 3. Marywille 4. Symrna Alcoa is the best team in the state! Undefeated and knocked off the #1 6-A team, in the state. Ensworth only loss is to another private, but beat a strong symrna team nicely. Maryville wins it all, but loses to the best team in the state. Symrna gives the ball to Bryson 40 times a game, they're the best team in the state and would be undefeated. Bryson is that good and the line creates open spaces for him (or another) to run! Greenville looked better than I thought, but still not top 3 in state!
  16. Well, I live in the Glade and I always hear the glade parents whinning about little Johnny. Yes, I coach in the county and I know several of the coaches in the county (even the glade). Wilson Central has had a few decent years; offense was good under Elrod (wing-t) a couple of years, defense was even better under those same years under Dedman. Dedman has been there longer than any other coach there. Give him a chance is all I'm saying! If he calls Elrod, fine. If not, move on. We'll see in a few years what kind of team has come from this hire. But, I'm sure the Glade parents will always whine regardless. They have always did that from day 1. That will never change.
  17. Good luck to Coach Dedman and staff! Except against us! Hope you do well, but for the glade parents who seem to be cut throats or just stupid-I almost hope Wilson Central flops. Dedman and staff deserve better than you. Wake-up!
  18. yes, the tigers have lots to work with next season. if they can come together and be one they will hard to beat, if not it will another long season. some different wrinkles would be nice. 89 was the last run at the semis. if they are going to do something next year is the year. i guess we will just have to see. i dont know about the 50 yard dash but my car goes 0 to 60 in just over 5 seconds. Are you kidding me? The 89 football season was spent at a Bowl game for you guy's. Westy finished first and TC 2nd. Did you mean 88 season. "Moose" good luck next year--I'm hearing good things for you guy's over in G-ville/Smith Co. I hope you beat those owls too.
  19. O.K. whose son didn't meet expectations during the game? Who are we going to blame? Let me answer that--WHO CARES!!! Creekwood had a very good year/turn around. Coaches and players need to be thanked for their hard work, not tore down or blamed by idiot fans who seem to have a hidden agenda. Work hard for next season and get better!!
  20. When people think of Wing-T, they think automatically of a running game. Not true, since Coach Perry has been at Mt. Juliet the QB's have thrown for more than 1200 yards every year and have been very capable of running the ball (usually 500-700 yards). That's good production out of the QB spot. When I played for Coach Perry at Westmoreland, the QB threw for over 1600 yards and not as much running. Different type of QB. So, when people think of Wing-T, I guess Coach Perry goes against the common thinking. Don't get me wrong, but you must have a QB, productive running backs, and good WR's (trees if you want to call them that). WR's and Backs must be able to block and catch in order for this offense to work. Offense loses some key people, but if they can find or develope a QB, they will again be dangerous next year (better).
  21. Another scenario being looked at (heard from a co-worker) is the possibility a middle north and middle south. I don’t know how that is going to work, but there are way too many rumors and uncertainty out there. I hope TSSAA gets this straighten out, but again it’s going to take time. Hopefully, it will be worked out by next year.
  22. Randymc--I see you have Mount Juliet going to POD 2, I really think they'll go to POD 3 (of course it depends on this weeks outcomes). POD 2 is basically district 7 and the surrounding counties. Everyone is assuming the lines will be right down the center of the state. But if you are counting on the geographics and the possiability of either Franklin County, Coffe County, and Warren County making playoffs and beating one of the Rutherford County Schools. The Williamson County schools are further south and geographically closer to those teams. Mount Juliet is the furtherest north of any of the middle Tn teams. I can see them going either way, but west seems more logical. Again, we are talking about the TSSAA though.
