i wouldn't call last years game the game of the year either

they were #6 last week...only moved up because oak ridge lost

i dont understand how cooper is ahead of marshall in yards per game when it says they have both played 4 games and marshall has 556 yds and cooper has 554...maybe i just looked at it wrong, i dont know

what would be the point of coacht if all you could say is ok these 2 teams are going to play each other, lets let them strap the pads on and battle it out...you can do that by looking at the schedule in the paper

and anyway, he didn't choose cooper over marshall...marshall is just in his junior season, so its not like he said Mr Cooper I'm choosing you over the marshall kid

their center, and abraham last year...thats 2 of their starting lineman, that was a big difference last year

what is meant by that? theres a much better chance of the game being clean and fair if its at ooltewah rather than wb...i remember last year's game......

so central's had one good team in the last 7 years, who cares...owls take this one by a score of 56-7...

there were no bad calls that hurt blackman in that game

their first hit in the inning was a comebacker to the mound that burke gloved but could not get ahold of, and it dribbled away from him...the next man bunted it right back at burke, but he slipped on the wet grass and so was forced to throw to first and the ump somehow called the guy safe even tho he was out by over a step...the next guy again bunts it right back at burke and burke gets the ball away in time for the force at third...the next batter walks, and then there is a two run scoring single to left center, the ball is thrown in and m cdade cuts it off and throws to get the runner trying to take third, the kid slips woods runs him down but makes a bad throw to 2nd and he returns safely...burke gets safely out of the inning and then the owls tack on 3 more runs in the bottom of the 6th and burke strikes out 2 of the 3 blackman hitters in the 7th to win it

i suppose massey's strategy wasn't all that bad considering ooltewah is still playing and red bank isn't...congratulations to red bank on a great season, but hopefully ooltewah can continue to play good for district 6-AAA

jeremy woods is a very good pitcher...and the sad thing is for as bad as ooltewah played the tying run was at the plate for the last out at the end of the game and their best player had the worst night of his career probably, pretty amazing the game was even in range i do believe, but anyway, what if ooltewah had won, would this still have been a terrible move by the coach, no you'd be singing his praises...and who cares that all red bank has is young players, ever since i was in high school they've said they are loaded with sophomores every year, yet come time that they are seniors they are still talking about how they are loaded with sophomores, its like they never grow up or something i dont really know...just get over it, the games over, and hopefully you take care of business in the region, b/c i'd sure rather be going for a region championship then sitting at home with just a district one

howard couldn't pitch b/c he would have been on 2 days rest, burke could have, but i believe massey is saving him for monday for the region so they assure themselves in the next round since they haven't gotten past the region since 02 i believe

dont know the final, but i know that ooltewah was up 3-0 early on a burke 3 run shot over the right center field trees...need someone for an update after that tho

if thats true, they might have used all their pitching up in the tourney over the weekend, if not that then i have no idea why they did

i remember a player got ejected from the game and a suspension last year for jumping over the catcher, he didn't make any contact with the catcher or anything, just tried to avoid him by jumping over him to get to home plate, but he was thrown out and suspended....i think that is a little ridiculous, they try and protect the kids entirely too much, just let them play baseball

i dont know if yo ucan say he is the best player in the state, yet....although he more than likely will be he didn't really seem to get the chance to prove anything this year, i hope he does continue to improve, but he needs to put on A TON of weight, he will get pushed all over the place by kids shorter than him just b/c he looks like a stick out there, the kid has great fundamentals, and a great looking shot to go with really soft touch, just needs to add bulk and toughness and that will help him get an inside game, then he will be a joy to watch

i couldn't believe some calls against hamilton there at the end, first of all that kid was not fouled on that 3 point shot, it was a clean block and replay showed it, second the one kid was not out of bounds, and third that travel at the end was called before the kid had touched the ball for the rebound, he was just assuming he would travel, luckily for them they still won on a shot that rimmed out, but man it would have hurt real bad to lose after those calls....its bad when i only catch the last part of the game due to the ncaa tournament and all i see are blown calls after blown calls...but on another note, man are those kids from hamilton athletic, and which one of the kids from shelbyville did the announcer say utc was looking at, was it twilley or the one who hit the 3 free throws after the 1st ot?

lance sexton, in my opinion had the all time best dunk in the history of this game's dunk contest..it was sick

i dont think just because a team comes from down by 8-10 or so with a half a quarter left makes it a great game...like take the michigan state-gonzaga game where there were 2 40 pt scorers in that game(ager and morrison) and it went into triple overtime and wasn't decided until the final shot, that to me makes a good game, where it can go either way the entire game, i'd say some of the grace and temple games from the past were some pretty good games, and old school, what about that ooltewah central game from a couple years ago where sherm hit the 3 pointer at the buzzer with 3 guys in his face to and couldn't even see the goal for his life.....just coming down from a lot doesn't make it the all time greatest game.....not saying it wasn't a good game b/c im sure it was, but to make that kind of a bold statement is probably stretching it
