  1. Antioch is probably one of the better teams in Metro. Coker, Preston Brown, Shawn Graham, Taylor Bradford, Jerrod Edmondson, Ricky Williams, the list goes on. If there is any doubt, look at the preseason. Pearl-Cohn can attest, the Bears are for real.
  2. Pearl-Cohn beats everybody every week and wins the 4A championship

    Franklin

For starters, learn how to spell the word before posting. A school's mascot is its tradition. Personally, I don't have any problem with the mascot. Most people that have problems with these insignificant things tend to not have a lot on their mind, so they find something to argue about. Leave it alone, Franklin is not changing its mascot to fit your fantasies. They have a proud tradition, and great athletic teams. Mama always said: If you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all.
  4. This is going to be a good game. But this is not just the Coker-Meadows show. Though two good players. The supporting casts will decide the game. Antioch has a good line which will open holes for Coker and Brown. Also take in mind, most of Antioch's team is back from the butt-whipping that Beech put on them last year. Don't think they forgot. After all is said and done, look for an 0-3 and 2-0 record to come from this game.
  5. Slim, appreciate the compliment about the team. Lebanon beware, the Bears are primed and ready for this season. Yes, Coker is the 200m champ, 2nd in the 100, but there is a conglomeration of athletes around these parts. The defense is solid, if the preseason is any indication, anyone on the schedule might want to get their A game ready. In all scrimmages, the Bears were decisive winners, this includes Pearl-Cohn and David Lipscomb. This should be a good matchup, but I look for the Bears to come out on top
  6. Lamarcus Coker and Preston Brown of Antioch High School
  7. Problem, Antioch does not have to rebuild the line and does have the state's fastest running back in Lamarcus Coker (200 m champion, 2nd in 100m). Backups can start almost anywhere in the state. Watch out!!!!!
  8. Adams and Hunt will get plenty of playing time for the Bears this season. Both players are in battles for starting positions this season. By the way Antioch-41 Pearl-Cohn-30. Good scrimmage, plenty of hitting.
  9. Big scrimmage b/w two metro schools looking to do big things this season. Will give results after.
  10. The 4.35 is true, about being one of the best in the state, someone is going to listen to me one day.
  11. Siegel scrimmaged Antioch yesterday, the first year school looked good at times. They will win a few games this year. Final score Antioch 10 tds, Siegel 0 tds
  12. The Antioch Bears are still rolling. Stop doubting the running game, it is the best in Nashville, and probably one of the best in the state. When all is said and done come back to this post at the end of the season, and I will say I told you so.
  13. If Tuesday's scrimmage against Antioch and Springfield is any indication, Blackman is in for a long season. Antioch basically whipped the line and the running back into submission. The tailback was decent, but he could do nothing against the Bear's defense. If you want a ground game, look at Antioch. Lamarcus Coker is the real deal. He is one of the premier backs in the state of Tennessee. Also his backups Preston Brown and Courtney Booker could probably start on a lot of other football teams. Brown is only a 10th grader, and the other two are 11th graders
  14. If this is the same Donald Goode I know, then the football team will be worst off then the basketball team. The "Donald" I know is a third-string CB for the Bears who talks a lot. And if I am not mistaken, he didn't even play freshman ball, or if he did, he didn't play. Get real, if you were that good, you would have been heard of.
  15. As an alumnus of Pearl-Cohn(get the name right!!), I have seen the team at its worst and at its best. This year's squad will no doubtedly be one of the finest teams in class 4A. The game to decide it all this year will be White House vs. Pearl-Cohn. Northwest, Whites Creek, Stratford, and whoever else thinks they have a shot need to step up on Fridays, otherwise shut up and watch as the Firebirds run through the region again, as they have been doing for the past few years.
  16. Antioch will probably be the surprise team of this region. Most of the top teams had heavy graduation rates. Antioch basically lost 2 or 3 starters from last year's team. Watch out world!!!!
  17. I am not for sure, but did Ramon Clay make it in these two events????
  18. There is probably no bigger rivalry than between Pearl-Cohn, Maplewood, Whites Creek, and Stratford. It seems as if no one from any of these schools likes each other. Any time any of them plays each other in any sport, there is going to be some serious bad blood between the teams, coaches, fans, etc.
  19. When Smith Co. loses, it is always the officials or the other team cheated. When they win, they try to rub it in. this is a big deal b/c when was the last time they beat a top team in the state. REFRESH MY MEMORY!!!!!!!!
  20. Has he broken any records, maybe. He ran a hand-held 10.3 100 and a hand-held 10.2. He has world class speed. Wait until the football season, everyone will know what I am talking about. GO BEARS!!!!!!!!!
  21. To slim, posting times is not malarchy, its just facts that were put out there. Personally I think that you are a little jealous because you run like a 6.0. Don't hate, just marinate and get a life.
  22. Lamarcus Coker of Antioch is probably one of the best backs returning in the state. He has bulked up this season, after gaining over 1000 yds as a sophmore. He runs lide a 4.2-4.3 40 yd dash. His backups are not that bad either especially in the form of a sophmore named Preston Brown. Brown led Antioch's freshman to their 2nd consecutive city championship game. In one game he suffered a concussion and still ran for over 150 yds. GO BEARS!!!!!!!!!
  23. We have had our predictions, and our candidates. Is their any word on when the coach will be picked, or who is it going to be. Another question, in the postings of candidates, the names of Broome and Bodenhamer have suddenly disappeared, what happened?
  24. I like your vote of Norfleet, he is a forgotten champion. Did he win two or three state championships? Also, does any one remember the name Michael Carletello. Very good wrestler in the early 90's. He is on no one's list. As well as his brother Tony.
  25. Lamarcus Coker of Antioch high school in Nashville ran a 10.3 100m at a meet at Maplewood this week. If time is official, we have a new state record holder. Also, watch for Antioch's 4x100 team, they can fly.
