From what I read, Riverdale is battling through injuries right now. What is the extent of the injuries and how long will Lanning, Burgess and Steen be out?

is it true the only reason this particular game was changed was so Jackson County could play on their home floor. The game time changed was not announced until after White County's fans had left which makes it hard to get the word out.

Blackman game was played at Blackman. That was a mistake on the schedule page. I really don't know why it said that.

When did Red Bank fumble at the five and Sparta take over during the game. If we are talking about if's, White county was inside the red zone on two of their three interceptions. Red Bank was not across midfield on either one of their interceptions.

Rett and J.J. both began practicing again this week. They will see limited action Friday night mainly to get the rust off before they play Red Bank. Rett may actually have to punt because unfortunately, Blake Maxwell injured his ankle Wednesday in practice and is out against Central. They are awaiting an MRI on his ankle. Junior is doing a lot better and has been doing a lot of running. he will not play Friday night but should be back next week.

I believe 85 Warrior and 90 Warrior were posting on here long before any of the current football coaches came to Sparta proving they are not football coaches at White County. In fact, the majority of their posts are normally on the basketball board.

Three players? Losing those three is the equivalent of losing five because they all three start on offense plus rett and JJ start in the defensive backfield so that is losing five starters. Take that off any team and see what happens. That would be comparable to the Colts losing Edgerrin, Marvin Harrison and Reggie Wayne on offense and then losing Nick Harper and Mike Doss on defense and then trying to play another one of the top teams in the league without them. Now don't take it that I am saying that those guys are as good as the pro players but to our team, they mean as much as those guys do to their team. It's ridiculous to say it didn't make a difference. By the way, every team we have played this year has limited Junior on his first few carries. But he just keeps hammering. Oh yeah and I will take three or four yards every play because three or four plays and it would be a first down all the way down the field.

by the way, Kellie Jolly, who is now Kellie Harper and one of the greats you all have mentioned, is making her name in coaching. In her first year ever as head coach, her Western Carolina Lady Catamounts won the Southern Conference Tournament and will advance to the NCAA Tournament. Kellie is the first coach in Southern Conference to ever do that in her inaugural year as head coach. Just had to brag on her a bit. Way to go Kellie.

Depsite the fact I hate to admit it, as far as White County beating Shelbyville in the postseason, it has only happened twice. The first time was at the end of the 1992-93 season and the region was played at Sparta. The Warriorettes won by 11 in the region semis. That was Kellie's sophomore year. Amy Moore was a senior for the Warriorettes. The next season, 1993-94, which was Kellie's junior year and the year the Warriorettes were ranked number one in the nation, we beat Shelbyville twice in the regular season, at Sparta by 19 and at Shelbyville by four. Then they beat us in the region finals at Lawrence County by three. The next year was when they beat us in the finals by 13 at Lebanon. That was only Kellie's fifth game back after knee surgery. The other win in the post season came in the region finals at MTSU in 1996-97. The Warriorettes won by nine. Miranda Moore was a senior for Sparta and Candice Mitchell was a junior. I think Chrissy Davenport was a senior for Shelbyville. Those are the only four times Sparta has beat Shelbyville in the past 20 years I am sorry to say. They missed one of their best chances tonight, but Shelbyville did the things they had to do to win and unfortunately we didn't. Holland, as a head coach, actually had a winning record against Insell. They played five times with Sparta winning three and Shelbyville two. We just couldn't beat teams we were supposed to win in the first round of the state. Still one of the great misfortunes. One of the strongest teams in the state during the 90's and no gold ball to show for it. But no matter what I will always be one of the proudest Warriorette fans around. Great bunch of kids who wore the maroon and gray who have gone on to be adults of which our community can be proud.

The regular season team is not picked by a certain number for each team. Coaches nominate players from their own team whom they think should be considered for All District.. However, they cannot vote for their own players on their ballots. After the nominations are put forth, each coach turns in a ballot with ten players on it. The coaches rank their list in order from one to ten. A number one vote gets ten point and a number 10 vote one point. The top ten point getters make the All District team with the top vote getter being player of the year. That is the regular season team. At least that is how it has been done for the past few years.

The final has not been posted on the scoreboard. How did it come out?

I'm just saying that the success of the team does not always dictate who gets Player of the Year. It's about what a player brings to their team.

Three years ago Sam Agee got Player of the Year for the District and his team didn't win a single game.

Maybe the smallest gym in the district but no other gym has the tradition or atmosphere. Better to play in a smaller gym that is full than a big gym that feels like it is empty.

Frazier didn't play for Shelbyville. However on offense for the Warriors it was great to see Jr. Lewis play his first game at completely 100% this season. He carried the ball 30 times for over 200 yards. He made some unbelievable runs. The Warrior defense played their best game of the season against the run. Sorry if it sounds as if I am bragging but they don't get that chance to much on here.
