  1. No doubt, if there is a thread about any east TN teams, someone from Maryville will jack it
  2. Anything official yet? Where did Wilhite go? Is he in consideration?
  3. How did the blue-white game go? Who stood out? Any one hurt? Overall impressions of spring? Anyone watch West or East scrimmage? I saw West, thought they looked pretty good. I also saw JC, thought they looked better /wink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=";)" border="0" alt="wink.gif" />
  4. With such a great recruiting budget, it will not be long until new names pop up on your list. Better yet, WHO CARES!! You guys are all the time high jacking everybody's threads so I thought I would do the same. But really, nobody cares!!!
  5. I was at the scrimmage at Carson-Newman yesterday. Any updates on the QB, he was great up until the injury. Ironic that he is wearing a green jersey for no contact and gets hurt. It looked totally accidental with the DL rolling into the legs. Overall, I thought your passing game looked great. I saw 31 and 3 on the sidelines. Why?
  6. I went and watched the West-Farragut scrimmage yesterday and came away very impressed with both of those teams. Farraguts QB was as good as I have seen in a long while (injured and taken off in ambulance late in scrimmage with a leg injury). West's defense was stout against the run. The Patriots better get the passing game going before that game. West's offense looked explosive and that young back they have (Goins) is going to be really good. I think the Patriots have the advantage coming out of the spring comparing the two teams. /flower.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":flower:" border="0" alt="flower.gif" />
  7. After watching my Patriots handle Science Hill, I am wondering how the rest of the league is looking. Any reports from scrimmages or practices. I know Mo East had to cancel their scrimmage. Not enough QBs in Morristown I guess /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" />
  8. I thought the Patriots looked good on defense. The offense was a little rough (to be expected), but the effort was great. I agree the young man ejected was out of line, but nothing a few "championship" hills can't cure.
  9. Only one way to go? Your teams the past two years have been 4-6, which is not great but not bad for SD if you look at their history. But that would take some intelligence, something your posts have lacked.
  10. Talking to a friend of mine that works at East, there were several players involved in a hazing incident in the locker room. Several prominent players were involved, including the son of a prominent school figure.
  11. Dang, who said reading coacht was not educational /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" /> I feel like a more informed American after Burro and FB coach have caught me up on my American History.
  12. That is quiet a nonregion schedule. I guess you guys figure you better get a test in these games, because your region stinks. I am surprised to see TN High and Sullivan South rather than a traditional rival like Mo East or West.
  13. I know they will play Jeff. Co. Who else is on the non-region schedule? How has the move to AA been received in Greenville?
  14. Not just head coaches, but assistants as well. Kenny Ratledge, DC at Sevier Co. was there sometime. As was Tony Lingenfelter. I know some of the assistant coaches off Hutchins' staff who have left SD had success (Upton at Maryville, the guy at Greenville and the guy at Catholic. Truth be told, Hutchins took McMinn Co. to the second round of the playoffs before coming to SD. Obviously knew something then. I think Swafford took the team he coach before SD to the playoffs.
  15. I agree rallykat, but with the economy and budget cuts as they are, I think it will be awfully tough to bring in a bunch of people.
  16. I have read that Sinard now wants to come back. In my opoinion, if he wants to come back, he will be back. Not saying that I agree with that, but it will happen. Good ol' boy network at its finest! I too think Scott has done enough to keep the job. There is no way Kisabeth tells Sinard NO!
  17. You have had some good coaches there. You might want to get some players there as well /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" />
  18. How do you honestly think you will get a championship caliber coach when the school will not allow new coach to bring in any assistants with him. Your expectations do not meet the reality of the situation. I don't care if you hire Bill Parcells, he cannot do it alone!
  19. I have heard through a good friend of mine that Tee is moving to Florida. Any truth to this rumor. If so, Jeff. Co. may have caught a break. This kid is good!
  20. Jerry Colquitt played against us in the '87 playoffs. It did not go well for him /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" />
  21. I went to Jefferson County, and we said the Lord's Prayer after every practice, before every game, and after every game. I cannot believe that we in America, where we are supposed to be free, are going to tell coaches that they cannot participate in prayer. I totally agree that a coach or teacher should not lead the prayer, but to tell a person they cannot participate kinda goes against the word freedom. If a student or coach wishes not to participate, that is their choice. But don't tell a coach they cannot participate. AND WE WONDER WHY THIS NEXT GENERATION OF AMERICANS IS SO OFF BASE! We allow them to listen to gangster rap and heavy metal music that spews forth anti-moral behavior, but Heaven forbid we allow them to pray.
  22. For those of you who haven't heard (and since this area of the state is not know for the hoops), Jefferson County has made a run through the district tourney. They did not when a district game all year, then have upset Greenville and Cocke Co. to reach Tuesday nights final with Mo East. My question is this, is it enough for an interim head coach (David Scott) to keep the head title. With a 7 - 21 record, one might guess no. However, the track record at Jeff. Co. says yes. What are the thoughts of the Jeff. Co. faithful.
  23. Dang, this post has made it all the way to 51. That reminds me lf the worst "butt-thumpin" OR ever took. The great Dumplin Valley Massacre of 1987. Jeff. Co 51 - OR 0. Still brings a tear to my eye (of joy of course). The answer to rallykat is that yes your program has become much less attractive than you like, a lot like the program that is near and dear to my heart. The problems facing both of these once proud programs are the same. THEY CAN'T GET QUALITY ASSISTANTS, but for opposite reasons. At OR they cannot get coaches teaching jobs because no one ever leaves because of the $$$. At Jeff., money is also the issue, but on the other end. It is one of the lowest paying counties in the state. I hope OR can get a quality coach and reestablish themselves, just as I hope Jeff. Co. will as well. Just my two cents as a fan of high school football. Coach Wells has done a tremendous job at CCHS. His teeams have always given us fits through the years.
  24. To have the amount of success that DB has had over the past umpteen years, it is amazing to me that you would be wanting coaching changes. Be careful what you wish for! I have two words for you, LANE KIFFIN!!
  25. I know Coach Wilhite from his Jefferson County days. He would do an excellent job with Heritage.
