  1. I think Timmy Howard is the best and most suprising keeper this year his work on and off the pitch have really impressed me, but his play towards the end of the season greatly suffered, there is however one keeper who kept his composure during the season and that is David James, you can see him this summer in the net for England in the Euro 04.

    Club State

I think the strongest team in Euro this summer will have to be between France, Italy, and the Netherlands. I think if the Netherlands can keep it together for 6 games, then they can take the title easily. Rage also has a pretty good chance, but I think the way the groups are set up they'll lose to Portugal in the quarterfinals. But, then again, if Jeff Boynton is healthy, both he and Xander will easily be able to get past the likes of Jorge Costa, Beto, Fernando Couto, and the recently acquired Jeff Agoos.
  3. I think the next best thing to come out of France is Benoit Pedritti, this under 23 prospect has a great future in club football next season.
  4. What has McMinn done that makes them one of the favorites? Farragut has had a hard schedule and all but McMinn has not beaten any good teams and hasnt proven themselves as a #2 team in the state. Hendersonville has beaten Franklin twice, Clarksville twice, Gallatin twice, Smyrna twice, drew Brentwood, beat Houston, and beat Science Hill, and lost to Parkview, GA 0-1 (who beat Ridgeway 8-0.) McMinn beat who?... Catholic? yeah one decent team. We will see though.
  5. I heard Hendersonville outplayed Brentwood in their meeting in the regular season. You cannot compare scores when both teams win. Brentwood lost to Ravenwood and also drew MBA, not something one of the best teams in the state are supposed to do. Hendersonville is also loaded just like Brentwood if I remember correctly, dont they have 3 or 4 freshmen starters and 2 or 3 sophomore starters? When we played them Xander was not their entire team at all. I think they are as good or better than Brentwood.
  6. Houston did not beat Hendersonville. According to soccerinfo.com Hendersonville beat Houston 2-1.
  7. your entire post is bs, preseason is much different. I am done with you and your ignorant insults. I dont even go to HHS and you are running your mouth about me and them.
  8. I believe they played each other in preseason much different from a regular season game.
  9. yes, looking at smyrna's very impressive results this year, i say they could easily beat hendersonville in districts, again in regions, then beat brentwood/hillsboro/franklin is sectionals. a coasting win over farragut in the final would top it all off. by the way, the 1-0 beating smyrna gave to winless wilson central was amazing. i would love to see smyrna do some damage in the tournament.
  10. i heard chris bach for baylor is hurt for the rest of the year, is this true?
  11. it wasnt maynard that was said to be as good as the 3 freshmen from hendersonville, it was monteghani. he i think is a mf, kelly, i believe, is a mf and forward and sutton is somewhere in the midfield . kelly is on regional pool; im not sure why any is comapring him to anyone. no matter what anyone says, the jp players would automatically say anthonys better than sutton and others, so ill just leave this 'rubbish' thread.
  12. ok, 1 or 2 ppl told me it was robert summerford, not sure who he is, but i guess it isnt him.
  13. unanymous, or robert summerford (sp?), you dont play soccer, so why are you posting? at least be reasonable with your posts; maynard just as good as daniel kelly? watch both of them play, compare, then you can post again. im positive none of the jp freshmen would start for hhs, but maybe ghs. but ill be truthful and say possibly 2 or 3 could start for hhs. they seem to be solid in most places, but not all. keller, chuck and maybe trey. i believe chuck has something like 20 goals, but something like 8 in 2 games against teams that werent good at all. by the way, being recruited by d1 and d2 colleges is different from writing to them and they might come see you play sometime. i could never believe that a d1 team is trying to recruit martin, a junior from jp. Maybe as a senior, but d1 colleges are very tough to play for, its nothing like a d1 club team. hatfield apparently is having a bad year and not that good, manteghani is descent, but who would he start over? ive seen both teams play before, i dont think unanymous has, but maybe im wrong.
  14. if this is trey, what position would you play for hendersonville
  15. i play with lowder and he is a good player, but theres no chance hes anywhere near xander. lowder is a good all around player but xander's skills and speed stand out in his performances and he almost never loses a tackle. lowder may not be one of the best in the mid state, but he is only a soph and will improve over the next couple years and will be very good in the future.
  16. question arises.... who are you??
  17. a hs game lasts 80 min. i dont think there should be et (ot). draws have always been a part of the game, why get rid of it now. after 80 min, players are tired and the fitter team has the better chance of winning. i dont think pks decide anything, theyre just a way to get the game over with. georgia also plays no stoppage time, which is ridiculous. there is a buzzer that sounds for the end of the half/game like basketball or american football.
  18. we could go back and forth about who is better in high school because we havent played more than a few teams from there so it is hard to tell. the good players are always split up in high school between public and private schools so its hard to tell. Ga is better though in club due to moreso popularity than population. theyre semi-finalists in almost every age group in region 3 every year. Also, please dont bring up the fab 50 national rankings. Science Hill was ranked pretty well at the beginning of the season and theyve proved theyre not a nationally ranked team. this is also out of somewhere from 15-22 states and they dont play each other, at least not often, so how could they tell how good a team really is? Grissom was either #7 or #17 and they lost to bga 4-1 and mccallie 3-1 within a week. Back to the brentwood-hendersonville thread, if any team should drop it should be brentwood to the #3 spot and mcminn would go up. If hendersonville is #4 and bwood is 2, then brentwood is expected to beat them so how could they drop after getting a draw against a, according to the rankings, better team?
  19. milan? ac or inter? well, i think inter can with vieri and cannavaro having great years i say inter can win state. ac on the other hand having an aging paulo maldini, who is subpar this season. Inzhagi and Shevchenko have shown well though.
  20. it seems as though the station camp and ravenwood games were played in tournaments. there isnt a need for gallatin or hendersonville to play jp, they wouldnt see them at state or in the playoffs, and they only a play a couple private schools during the season anyway. didnt jp lose to notre dame 4-0 on saturday? i didnt know notre dame was any good...
  21. it seemed to be pretty even from what i saw, maybe hendersonville had a bit of an edge. clarksville has a couple players that control their midfield, possibly the team, but they looked either young or just small. hhs was probably all around better though. i guess the scoreline told the story of the game. i remember hearing both teams lost a lot of seniors, but clarksville seems to be doing almost as well as last year; same with hendersonville. clarksville had a guy in center mid a couple years ago, i think his name was Mo. i remember playing against him, he was good. anybody know where hes playing now?
  22. here are my picks, from a spectator's point of view. AAA: farragut, hendersonville, mcminn, maybe brentwood, clarksville isnt too bad though. oak ridge also seems to be doing well. DII: BGA seems like the best team around to me, at least in private schools. they did have a bad loss against farragut, but since then theyve been doing very very well. ive seen them play a couple times. BGA, cbhs, mus, ecs/catholic?? i dont know too much about D2 so i may be wrong.
  23. m snow played briefly for my club team a while back. good guy, but not good enough to be in this thread
  24. tnfc 88 has become somewhat of state team only because there werent enough good local players. for the record, any good players around here, who play club, play for tnfc 88 with the exception of lowder, he plays for bwood 87.
  25. yes, you made the final four but got thrashed 6-0 by a bearden team that was not that great. brentwood and hendersonville didnt go to state so that made your chances of getting to the final four a little easier.
