  1. Most of the time, when someone tries to ridicule another person, they are simply jealous or feel their own inadequacies.... must be the case here. The players play the game... I guess the New England Patriots coach must be a failure as well.... they should have won, they have the talent, and I guess their coach let them down by not preparing them?? Yes, coaches prepare and practice the teams, but the players when they step on the court play the game.... normally, people recognize this,

  7. amen..... the district has been great to watch and will continue to be. I also believe that this district will make a good showing in the region tourney as well.
  8. I agree with your assessment. the quote below is my thoughts on the Lawrence County - Lincoln County game held on Monday in Tullahoma. All of the games have been great... I expect more great games as the tourney continues "the guys playing deserve an "atta-boy" for the way in which they played. their was no "quit" for both teams. the players, played their hearts out and deserve to be noticed. I look for Lincoln County to be in the championship game, they were ready for the Lawrence County game and they will be ready to play tonight. Which ever team wins to face Lawrence County in the championship game will be ready. Can't imagine a team playing for the championship NOT being ready. Great baseball players playing great games...... that is what it is about!!!!!"
  9. does anyone have any idea as to where the region torney will be held ... for the number one 8AAA and the second 8AAA team?
  10. umps, no umps....the truth is that both teams played their hearts out... there was only 4 strikeouts the whole game. Both teams came to play. sorry that everyone wants to focus on the umps. the guys playing deserve an "atta-boy" for the way in which they played. their was no "quit" for both teams. the players, played their hearts out and deserve to be noticed. 16. I totally agree that most have been civil in their post. It is as we, most all, agree a matter that involves a personal faith. I am thankful that we can use this opportunity to voice our thoughts and as I stated earlier, we are trying to make the most of the situation.... thanks for the thoughts
  17. magoo043, thanks for the comment, I agree that we all should exemplify Christ anywhere and everywhere we go, even on the ball field. I simply wish that we did not have to make the choice between missing an assembly (which I do desire to attend) and a ball game. That is my concern, we used to not have to make that choice. I absolutely agree that we can minister on the ball field as well in the assembly. As far as me "having" to attend the worship services, God has created us all with the ability to choose to go (whether Sundays, Wednesdays or whenever), and I am thankful that He created us this way. My concern, I guess, centers in the fact that most religious groups have had (in the past) a mid-week gathering (Bible study). At this gathering, a child of God will receive several blessings: meeting with fellow Christians, a time of worship and Bible study, an opportunity to grow through Bible study, etc... The powers that be, (TSSAA and others) would not have made the decision to play on Wednesday's unless there was a continual decline in the respect for religious practices. With this in mind, I still appreciate your comments... that is why we offer a time of praise and worship before or after the scheduled game. Incidently, we have in attendance many who would not even attempt to attend a regularly scheduled worship service at their given congregation. I feel that we are making the most of this situation. As an evangelist and father I am simply concerned with the "seemingly" lack of respect for religous practices that permeates our society. Society (Satan) has been fairly successful at removing God from public activites. Call me fanatical or whatever, I simply believe that the Bible encourages us to gather when we can to grow spiritually (Romans 12:10-15) as well as other passages. That is my concern. I remember (I realize that I am dating myself) when we playing on Wednesday evening was not ever done (on occasion a tournament or something special would be the exception and not the rule). Thanks for your comments, I do appreciate the thought and as I explained we try to use this as an opportunity instead of a road block.

Heard of Sunny Gray and from what i heard, he is fairly consistent in the low 90's. has lost a game or two, not sure if all he throws is fastball?
  19. The Bible teaches of a lifestyle change, this change is about putting God first and expressing to God our love through our obedience. Why would a child of God not want to worship any and every time they could? I would love to discuss this in greater detail if you would like... email me pops7@hotmail if you would like or we can discuss this in this forum. anyway, wanted to put my two cents worth in and would love to see the focus placed back on God and not worldly activities. By the way, one cannot separate the church and Christ according to what is taught in the Bible (Ephesians 1:22-23; Colossians 1:12-20). thanks for your interest.

Soph. Drew Stofel is throwing around 85. fairly decent for a soph.
  21. It has been a constant concern for me as a minister of the Gospel... the lack of concern for those who desire to worship both on Sunday and Wednesday evening. It seems that the place that God has in our society has become less with each passing day. I, personally do not even like the idea of playing on Wednesday evening. I also realize that we are mostly fighting a losing battle with the powers that be. They are more interested in playing games than encouraging the spiritual well-being of the coaches, players and fans. By the way, I have a son who plays on a High School team, and until we can get the scheduling changed where the district games can be played on to consecutive days that do not include Wednesday, we offer an optional (come if you want) worship before the games that are scheduled during worship times. The worship is open to any and all who choose to attend. It is still of great concern to me that we, as a society, have placed such importance on things that are not eternal....
  22. any scores from Lawrence County vs. Columbia?

    8-AAA

Stofel for Lawrence county threw a great ball game through 6 and a third. errors behind him and him tiring changed complexion of game. as it stands, seems like 8AAA is kinda a toss up. anyone can win when they make the plays. should be interesting.
