  1. blah, blah, blah. Comments like these with references to certains schools and their financial situations have been stated for years. And usually, those comments are made by those who are too ignorant to understand the public school system. It does not matter if the school is Brentwood, Germantown, Farragut or any other school of this type. These schools are criticized because they are located in affluent areas. However, if these same people that criticize those adults that go out and succeed in the business world and choose to live in these areas would realize that these schools receive the least amount of money from the state. These schools are put at the bottom of the list when it comes time to give money to the schools. The schools that are less fortunate are given the state money first. Many times, these schools that don't receive stated money have to raise their own money and can't rely on help from the state or other schools. So, to criticize these schools for doing something on their own reitterates the fact that these same people are unable to see past the social classes they label themselves within. Money has nothing to do with talent. You can have a bunch of rich girls that are terrible. We can list private schools all over the state that can't compete on an athletic field. How does money make someone hungry to play the game? How does money make someone want to continue their training throughout the spring, summer and fall and then battle a tough 3 month schedule? To those that continue to make these comments about social classes, you need to reevaluate what you are saying and ask yourself why you honestly believe this. Are you jealous that their parents are financially successful? If so, get over it. That has nothing to do with basketball and who will win in a game. I wish Powll all the luck. They are talented, physical and bring a lot of positive aspects to the game of basketball and especially to women's high school basketball. I also wish Brentwood good luck. This will be a great game. However, immature and ignorant posts stating a certain school has an advantage because of what the players' parents do are sad and unmeritted. Please don't disrespect the game and continue to display you level of understanding (or lack there of) of the public school system, high school sports or the game of basketball. ------out-------
  2. Is Courtney Cox related to Richard Cox (he used to teach math at Powell Middle School)?
  3. After watching Brentwood several times this year, I am predicting they beat Powell in the first round. You heard it here first. Everyone on coacht has been picking Powell. Brentwood will win. Lady Bruins (Especially utizzle), Rip off the dog collar that has held you back in the past and make a statement in the Boro. Good Luck!!!

  5. I have read the comments and seen the box score, but can anyone tell me what happened to Franklin??? I felt that they could/should have beaten Antioch. If anyone was at the game and can provide a recap or summary, I would appreciate it.
  6. I was able to make it over to Hillwood to watch both Franklin/Hillsboro and Brentwood/Hickman County. All four teams played hard and should represent this district very well in the Region. I was also at the game at Franklin when they upset Brentwood. The Lady Rebels had some people hit some uncharacteristic shots. The reason I use the word "uncharacteristic" is because since that game, some of those same players have scored only a few points here and there. (Atleast from what I have been able to see from the box scores and the other games that I have gone to watch Franklin.) I do not predict this game to be a blow out, but I also don't expect to see those same players hitting those same shots. This should be a great game overall.
  7. Just a minor correction, I checked on the standings for this district and Brentwood seems to have ended the season at 15-1 in district play. Is this correct or are they 14-2. The schedule has them at 15-1. If this is incorrect, who else did they lose to? Also, what are the chances of Spring Hill upsetting Hillsboro?
  8. Thanks, Pageman. I really appreciate the specifics from someone that obviously knows and understands the game!
  9. Pageman, What kind of defense did Ravenwood run to try and stop Bagsby and Harmon? The Ravenwood coach is usually a man-to-man guy, but has been known to gimmick with zones when he knows he can't match up. I don't think he could match up with your two posts - - not many teams can! Love to hear your thoughts!
  10. Thanks for the update Metroman. Really appreciate you providing the remaining games for each team. Some of teams have a tough schedule before the tournament and it should be interesting to see how it all falls with regards to the seating.
  11. Congratulations to the Lady Rebels. They played a great game. I was unable to make it to the game, but they must have shot the lights out to score 83 on Brentwood. I saw the next night they only scored 38 points. Instead of my having to go through every team's record, does anyone know the standings for 11AAA? Thank you and good luck to all the teams for the rest of this season and into the tournament.
  12. Pageman, I don't think I will be able to make it to the game. Will you be there and if so, will you be supplying the postgame summary? Or, will you be at the Lady Pats game? If you are cheering on the Lady Pats, good luck. They are a good team that has a lot of ability and should do well come tourney time!
  13. This game was cancelled due to the weather and will be rescheduled. The date and time have not been set as of yet.
  14. I had heard she was recruited by Shelbyville, mommy got a nice new job somewhere in Bedford county and is still on their team. I have noticed in Shelbyville's boxscoring where she has scored very sparingly. She has had one game this year with double figures; however, the rest have been between 0 and four points on any given night. Some nights, she is not even in the boxscore. I too, saw the Brentwood boxscore, but this had to have been a mistake. I did a little research and found out that Brentwood already has a freshman with the same number as Tabitha had last year and scored in the game last night against Hillwood; therefore, I think this was a mistake by the Tennessean.
  15. Just my opinion, but after seeing both teams play, Brentwood will win this game. Brentwood's depth and size will be too much for Franklin. Brentwood by 10+.
  16. Don't think this one will be close.
  17. No one has stated that Insell is a bad coach and no one has criticized his style of play. Just out of curiousity, why did the last three posts not address the fact that Insell does recruit? Are you expecting basketball fans to believe the Woosley and all of the other AAU coaches involved with that program do not recruit for Insell? Everyone knows that Insell "coaches" the AAU teams. He might not sit on the bench, but he is at practices and sits behind the bench at games. He might not for the younger teams, but he is definitely there with the older groups. Last time I read the TSSAA rules, all of these are violations. Any comment? As far as all of the boards he is on, politics has a lot to do with it. It doesn't matter what level you are on - middle, high, college, or pro - the best coaches are not always the ones heading up these "boards." Just like everything else, it is not what you know, it is who you know. To say Insell is a good coach because he is on those committees is absurd. I think Jim Harrick, Terry Bowden, Mike Dubose and even Carlton Flatt served on some boards and committees. No one ever said they were bad coaches, but did they play fairly?
  18. I am laughing at the fact that a majority of people continue to state that Shelbyville abides by the rules. I have watched Shelbyville for years, they are a great team. However, it does help when you get the best of the best in the middle Tennessee area. Insell is an average coach at best, but he succeeds with the talent that he has. I found it interesting on one of the earliet posts, suggesting Insell take a college job. Is there a program that would even offer it to him? I have watched Shelbyville, Oak Ridge, and ventured to west Tennessee at times to watch a different style of basketball. Throughout this time, I continue to see girls moving into the Shelbyville area "just to play basketball." Here is an interesting observation for all of those who stated the girl from Brentwood was not recruited......Who is her AAU coach? For those of you who don't know.....Tiffany Woosley. Where did she play high school ball? Shelbyville. Where did she come from? Moore County. How did Tiffany get from Moore County to Shelbyville? Some how, Mama Woosley ended up with a job at Shelbyville with 0 credentials. Must be nice! What about Christy Davenport? Came from Cannon County. AND, the list goes on and on.......All I am saying along with most of the people, is if the Shelbyville fans along with their coach wants to boast they are the best team in the state, then play on an equal level.
  19. What is the state record for assists in a season?
  20. I have heard that Brentwood has several players that are hurt. What is Beech's team looking like? My prediction, if Brentwood has players hurt, Beech to take the game.
  21. What is the latest on the coaches who are on the "hot seat"? Hoops24, have you received any info or inclanation of who it might be?
  22. What girl are you talking about?
  23. Nununu, I looked at the score on this website and Brentwood won by 15 at Antioch. How is that barley getting by? Antioch barely got by Spring Hill last night who Brentwood blew out twice. What happened to Antioch last night?
