The new HC will keep his job if he doesn't have to discipline his players. Allegedly, the last 2 coaches "resigned" because Principal forced them to allow players back onto the team who were serving suspensions for behavior detrimental to the team.

Sounds like you are saying Aydellot and Blade's Hillsboro teams won State Titles without discipline. How do you know this to be true? I agree that the new region is harder, but i recall Blade choosing to play Franklin and MBA as non-region games.

I feel for the kids at WC. They go to State Semi-Finals with WC graduate as HC in Law and run him out in order for the new Principal to bring in his former Hillsboro working partner in Mose Philips. I don't know what happened this year at WC but i am sure Coach Philips is excited to be leaving for Indy if the rumors are true. Campbell will have the job if he wants it imo.

Aaron "Boo" Bryant of Hillsboro is a 5'11" 225 lb kid who runs like a deer. He was MVP of State Championship game against Maryville as a Soph. Academics are whats keeping him under the radar as well as his height but he should be a qualifier and a great addition to whatever college he chooses to attend. Arkansas is showing the most interest but i believe they are waiting on ACT score before officially offering.

Hillsboro wins a very low scoring close game imo , hard for me to think the burros will lose on homecoming! Go burros

Plenty of subplots for this game. Starting QB for the Ravens is a former Burro with a State Championship ring. Both Head Coaches worked together for 1 year at Hunters Lane. Several current Burros live in the Antioch area and have many friends on the Cane Ridge team. Similar records with this game being critical for both team's playoff hopes.

Hillsboro bounces back this week with a win.

Obviously a great call from the Henry County coach to use this strange rule to his teams advantage. Surely the TSSAA will correct the intent of this rule and make the necessary adjustments for the 2011 season.

Franklin beat a poor Ootelwah team last week and will have their hands full with the Burros. Other than Brentwood, williamson co. football is down this year. (Fairview - i don't consider them a real contender - won't make it past 2nd round) Good luck to the Burros.

I am thinking special teams will be a big factor in this one. Hopefully the Burros can continue their winning ways.

Coach Olige and staff do a great job every year getting the most out of their kids and they do it with class. I must say that i did not see the play you are talking about in the first half. I did see #7 drop the game winning TD late that would have won the game for the Lions. The Wildcats won the game on the great fake call which was executed perfectly.

Columbia gift rapped this one for the Wildcats. The coaches son drops a touchdown pass that would have won the game. The Tullahoma coaches deserve some credit for that gutsy fake ex point. Great game to watch last night. Both teams played hard and should be proud.

If Coach Blade doesn't get it "turned around" within the next year or two, he will leave for greener pastures imo. Last years team seemed to be much more competitive than in years past. Blade won his second state championship ring in his third year as HC at Hillsboro (DC while winning Cali State title). This guy is a relentless coach who pays tremendous attention to detail. Player development is what he is all about. I suggest getting behind this guy and his staff because imo you won't find a better HC in this state willing to take over the OR program. This was a real close game last year and this year should be a good one as well.

Overton had a good regular season and they have a quality coaching staff made of good people. They did lose to Hillsboro in a somewhat meaningless Jamboree last year. Hillsboro embarrassed Pearl-Cohn in a preseason scrimmage and they soundly beat McGavock in a scrimmage last year as well. I don't know much about HL last year except that i don't remember them winning a playoff game (i apologize if they did) Good luck to the Burros and the rest of Metro in 2010.

Hillsboro advanced past the 1st round of the playoffs last year. Whites Creek made the final 4. Who else in Metro did better last year? How many playoff games did Overton win last year? This current Hillsboro team has quality skill players and should be playing good ball come late October.

Turnovers will be key in this one. I am pulling for the Raiders but this could go either way

Which passing tournaments will Springfield compete in this summer?

Although a very young team, i expect this team to surprise a few folks with their execution and enthusiasm. I guess Henry County is still the region frontrunner but look for these Yellowjackets to reach the playoffs again and possibly make a little noise. Coach Fite (former Mr. Tennessee - football, MTSU standout) will be a tremendous addition to this program and community. Robertson Co. now has several quality football programs that can compete with most of the other top teams in the state at their respected classifications.

Good Hire for Metro football imo. Next question is , Does Coach G stay around to run the spread o or does Gore look to Baskin to run the wing ?

Interesting that Broome goes to coach at Maplewood with Armstrong as his apparent DC. Broome previously replaced Armstrong after his impressive run when he was HC at McGavock
