YES! They can play in the playoffs possibly. The date they can play is ONE year after the last game the team they played for played. For example: If the last game the team they played for was Oct 31, they would be elegible to play Nov 1.

Coach Allen coaches, he is not a miracle worker, a recruiter, yes, but not a miracle worker. He's a good coach, don't get me wrong, but you can't expect him to work miracles or he would be coaching at a Church of God school, not Baptist. Last week was not an "off" week for either team; they were beaten by better teams. Unless some new players just enrolled in that school, maybe transferring from Bradley or LFO, Silver aint got a "prayer". I am not saying they need to scrap the NEW Offense. I am saying go with what worked last week. TWO BIG drives from sequatchie came when thay went to the I-twins formation. The Indians changed there defense in the middle of the game and did a great JOB! They switched from a 5 man front to a 4-4 defense...shut Whitwell down until the fourth quarter. Sequatchie showed the I last week, therefore, they have it in their arsenol and worked on it over the summer. No one is saying scrap anything. All I am saying is from the film, it looks like the I-twins can produce running and passing opportunities. Also, loved the crossing route play out of the I-twins.

Put this feather in your CAP...If the Indians try to pass the ball like they did against Whitwell They will LOOSE!!! If Sequatchie runs that I formation with the twins set and wins the battle up front on the line they can control the ball and clock: thus, producing a victory. TRUST ME!!! The Indians must establish the run, that's what they did last year against Temple and that is what they must do this year. Make Temple Tired by running. Some how, Temple needs to control the clock more and use their buffey FB. What a great offensive set you have in the I formation with twins. You moved the ball very well against Whitwell when you were in this formation and this formation will help tire out Temple. If the indians are determined to stay in that double twins and triple set shotgun offense, they will Loose!

I can't believe we are even having this conversation. The Boyd Bucs are way down and are in shambles. SP has changed their offense in order to get more production out of their running game. No doubt about it, Coach Grider knows that sometimes you have to change your offense to better fit your personel. He has done that. SP, have a good time on Friday Night and run UP the score. Got to see both Union and FHU play at the national tournament. Both had outstanding teams. FHU has some great guards, especially #14 and #12. Union played very well, however, they almost lost in the second round against North Georgia, needed OT for the Union Win. Yet, through adversity and great defensive effort, Union wins ANOTHER National Championship! Congrat's!

I have seem FC Boyd play twice and they plah very hard together. They beat Whitwell who has a winning record and they have played some close games. A little tinkering with the schedule and they could have a record that is 500. Hats off to their coach and I hope she stays on there at Fc Boyd.

WOW! Some interesting topics and posts. It is intriguing how a football game can produce such a variety of topics. I am befounded at the harsh remarks made about Coach Wes Green. Can everyone re-read the newspaper article that is being referred too. People are criticizing Coach Green for being forthright? He did not use or say the word recruit. He gave Boyd a compliment; they are an all-star team. He gave praises to Boyd and stated that they have some of the best players in the area, that is a FACT! Why are there people on here persecuting a man who has worked endlessly at revitalizing a program that at one time was 0-27 and now has produced a program that has achieved four play-off appearences in a row and two "sweet 16" appearences. The same holds true to Coach Akins, who has worked tirelessly and has turned a football team into an outstanding football program. Hats-off to the good job that both coaching staffs have done to get all of these young men to this point. Finally, I have never met a more spiritual human being than Coach Wes Green. A man of integrity and a straight shooter who is very dedicated to the Whitwell program and as nice of a guy you will ever find.

Your correct, the Jamboree is early this year. Some teams play week zero this year or teams in their region play in week zero and they wanted to see them play. Therefore, the jamboree was moved up a week. Furthermore, This was not suppose to be a fight between me and sequatchie and I wasnt trying to say Whitwell was going to be state champs. I just was giving facts that Whitwell has not moved the football in a Jamboree or won a Jamboree quarter in the last four years but has had a winning season. I am a fan of the VALLEY, and want to see all valley teams do well. That's a statement to the state about Sequatchie Valley football. In the end, a jamboree helps coaches see their players and what will best benefit the team when the season starts. Alot of different players played different positions for all the teams, this is called coaching. Finding the best player for a given situation.

Del: Who is talkin about Coach Taylor at Grundy? We were talking about him at Sequatchie County, open your eyes. There was One mention by ONE person about Grundy County and Coach Taylor so dont say yall. Yes, I thought Grundy looked liked the best team out there. Finally, Del, check your roster too. They did alot of subbing, ususally three at a time like Coah has done for years.

Seqatchie and Indian for the past two years have been so overly opinionated and I will admit, occasionly have nice things to say about others, but usually are just very opinionated on how GREEN the grass is in Dunlap. Well give us facts. The facts are you have struggled in Football and you recently got rid of a decent coach. Did you hire some local coaches that know this region and the area? No, you hire some guy that is not even from TN, when you could have hired Coach Taylor.

Indian: Read my earlier message carefullly. I'm not a crazy fan I am making factual observations. I am glad that Sequatchie Co. did well! They looked very good. I am saying that Sequatchie Co. always looks good in the preseason and jamboree. If you read my paragraph you will see that. I am proud of the Indians and I will check there football scores every Saturday morning and listen to there games on the radio. My point is that the jamboree means NOTHING! Its a practice and you can not base the regular season on a Jamboree. My only opinion is that it is a shame that they broke the rules on Scrimaging when they scrimaged Notre Dame on Wednesday...must be in pads 3 days. If they are srimaging this Friday aginst someone besides themselves, thats news to me. I was informed they were not allowed to scrimage against another team due to scrimaging early and being illegal. Since sequatchie has added his opinion let me prove to you by facts how you can not prove anything by the jamboree. In the past four jamboree's, including last night, The Whitwell tigers have not WON a SINGLE QUARTER!!!! Look it up. Yet, Sequatchie County has always done well at the Jamboree. So how did there seasons turn out? Well lets allow sequatchie give the facts later. But let us look at the facts for the past three seasons on Whitwell Football even though they have not won a SINGLE QUARTER! They have winning seasons 3/3. They have state playoff appearances 3/3. They are region champs 1/3, and the last public school to beat The Boyd Bucs. Oh yeah, I almost forgot, beat sequatchie county 2/3 years. Bottom line, the Jamboree means NOTHING. Last year Whitwell scrimaged South Pittsburg close twice and SP demolished them in the regular season. Friday night lights are different in the regular season. Since we are talking about Sequatcie County football let me move to the opinion section...Sequatchie County made a huge mistake when they passed up on Coach Taylor. BIG MISTAKE! Not only would Coach Taylor have halped them improve in winning games, he knows the rules and would'nt have made such a big foul up on playing scrimages. Sequatchie Co. only had one opportunity to get ready for the season, and that was last night for 24 minutes. I know for a fact that Grundy County did not play there first team the entire time last night and I assume other teams didnt do so either. Yet the jamboree is always played like the Super bowl to Sequatchie Co.
