  1. Are you serious? There is no whinning in that post at all. Get a life.
  2. How come everytime someone mentions Pigeon Forge Liberty fans get on here and say something? Pigeon Forge never said they were as good as Liberty or anywhere close. This is a very good PIGEON FORGE team. A very good team for PIGEON FORGE. Just because people say that does not mean they think they are the best in the state. I don't care who you are or who you are playing, going 21-1 is very impressive. Yes, Pigeon Forge does have talent, and they are good for an EAST Tennessee team, however, one of the big reasons they win so many games is because of the heart and competiveness they have, the guys play so hard and together. Winning as many close games as they have shows that, they have simply refused to lose in most instances. Everyone in the state knows that Liberty is the best as of right now, so just because someone says something about your team doesn't mean you have to get on here and "defend" your team or put down another team. Congratulations to Pigeon Forge on a great season so far, may you continue to play with heart and determination; and congratulations to Liberty on a great season so far as well.
  3. It's early, anything can happen. It's hard to judge teams on their first district game of the season. Things change, people get better. Pigeon Forge, just remember, you have huge target on your back. Everyone gets pumped up to play you because of your success last year, so I wouldnt neccessarily count on those teams playing that bad against you. I'm not saying they won't, I'm just saying it's highly unlikely.
  4. Well, from what I have heard in the past, is that TSSAA will allow schools who have a small gym to host substate. However, if when they host it, TSSAA gets ANY complaints about their gym being too small, they will never be allowed to host one again, even if the gym is re-done. I'm not certain on this by any means, but this is what I have heard in the past. It would be something worth while to look into though for Pigeon Forge if indeed they do make it to substate this year. If it is just a fine, I am sure they could raise enough money to work it out.
  5. I agree, I love the gym at Pigeon Forge. I would not campaign for a new gym, however, for the TSSAA rules to be changed. A school should be able to host their substate game if they win the right to. All TSSAA wants is money, it's plain and simple. It is unfair to the kids who work their butts off to earn that "home court" advantage for it to be taken away from them simply because their school has a small gym. TSSAA likes to say they work for the kids, however, it is the total opposite, they are all in it for money. Anyways, I do agree, the gym at Pigeon Forge is great for those kids and that school.
  6. Amen Jesus Is Lord! Both about your post and literally.
  7. Tw, yes, let me apologize if I must for making a typo. (Take out the word "gym" and maybe you'll be able to understand it then). Haha. You knew exactly what was meant by the statement. I was simply giving a few facts to help you out so that you wouldn't sound like you didn't know what you were talking about next time you tried to criticize someone about gym size. (Good one by the way...haha....) SHS1, I do agree with you that Seymour and Gatlinburg Pittman ARE too small to host substate, however, just a few years ago, in 2004 I believe (Brooke Johnson's senior year), Seymour did host a substate game, which they won against South Greene and made it to the state tournament. So obviously Seymour's gym isn't large enough...or they lied about their seating numbers. I'm not sure if Gatlinburg Pittman has ever hosted a substate game, but for some reason I wanted to think their boys did a LONG time ago. (Could definitely be wrong on this one). But yes, it is very good to know that the gym at Pigeon Forge will be expanded soon. (Even though this has been "in the works" for years). It is about time.
  8. Do you have a certain name you are looking for?
  9. Maybe you should know your facts before slamming a school because of what...gym size? I mean seriously, can you not come up with anything else? If you have a problem with the size of Pigeon Forge High School's gym, please contact the Sevier County Board of Education. Trust me, Pigeon Forge faculty and fans have been trying for years to build a new gym, but can not get the financial support from the county. Pigeon Forge is the only high school in its county that does not have a large enough gym to host its own substate, if it did, there is a bigger possibility (I'm not saying a guarantee) you could have seen two Pigeon Forge teams in the state tournament last year. Do you actually think the school likes having a gym that small? Think again. The school was originally a middle school gym, that is why the gym is so small. So again, if you have problems with it, contact the school board, the school has been trying for years.
  10. Hmm...just a little information...it would be hard for the coach to play the quarterback from last year because of one thing...he didn't play football anymore! He broke his hand and I am not exactly sure when he quit playing football but I do know he was no longer on the sidelines as early as the GP football game this year. I suppose it would be hard to start a quarterback who is in the stands?
  11. Seymourbsbll....Still a little bitter from Cannon's one-hit shutout and grand slam in the substate last year?!?!?!?! I think so. Give credit where credit is due.
  12. I Know Its Late But... Pigeon Forge Girls Won By 3. MVP-Nora Ramsey (PF) Kayla Rayfield (PF) Shanae Rayfield (PF) Charlee Hardy (GP) Tiffany McCarter (GP) Cindi Webb (GP) Engle (Unicoi) Not Sure On The Others
  13. No one talked trash about the Seymour team or any of the individuals on the Seymour team. Wherever you are getting this ridiculous information from is a horrible source. Please do not get on here and slam indivduals, you are totally classless and it makes your school and team look bad. The Pigeon Forge girls were very humble in their defeat. The girls went on a heck of a run and won two championships that no one expected them to. This Pigeon Forge team accomplished more this year than any other PFHS girls team ever has. For only having a varsity athletic program for 5 years, to have been district runner-up 2 years, district champions 2 years, region champions 1 year, and make back to back substate apperances, I feel that is quite an accomplishment. Please show some class. Good Luck to the Seymour girls at the State Tournament, hopefully you will continue to shoot lights out! Go Lady Eagles!
  14. 64-27....have all the district game been played or does somebody play this week?
  15. GP won big. Score not in Sentinel but I believe it was 60-something to 20-something. Other District Scores: Cumberland Gap - 59 Rutledge - 48 Pigeon Forge - 40 Claiborne - 24
  16. maybe. didnt mean to get snappy, just dont like when people try and hide behind a name. anyways, to basketball....looks like cumberland gap is trying to make a stong statement with their only losses coming to claiborne. with gp's loss at rutledge everything looks to be wide open with claiborne slightly ahead of the pack. these next two weeks will be critical. barring injury, the race for #1 will be a tight one between several teams. who might u be hk?
  17. mrv1....mr vannoy...sure sounds like a cumberland gap coach to me. if not him then his brother who coaches at lmu who i believe wouldnt take time out of his coaching duties to talk on coacht about cumberland gap and claiborne county basketball all the time. check it out, all mrv1's posts are about cumberland gap or teams from this area. MRVannoy.
  18. and it also better than what your team got or any other team in AA in tennessee besides DL. its time you guys realize that pigeon forge is a good ball club and they deserve everything they achieved and had a wonderful season.
  19. you got the last laugh? i do believe pigeon forge played in the championship game and not ripley. they are the #1 public school in Tennessee.
  20. I do not care if people get on here and state their opinions about the rules but when you start making false comments about people you dont even know then i think that is a little much. Please praise the kids and athletes as much as you want, but unless you know everything about the situation between the boys (i could care less about umps or whatever) then you sound ignorant. How about we talk about what a great run this Pigeon Forge team made and how well the boys played together and fought hard.
  21. About Pigeon Forge basketball, they were probably talking about the boys run to sub-state last year and the girls 30-5 record run to sub-state this year
  22. Wow, if you all only knew how ignorant you sounded. First of all, NONE of you know the whole story and for you to get on here and talk about it like you do makes me feel sorry for you. You have no idea what was said between the boys. Whoever said that TSSAA or the umpires should have done something about this, well i dont know what you are thinking. Tell me this...are the officials inside the locker rooms at halftime of basketball and football games?...I think not, what goes on inside a locker room, field house, or dug out is the teams business. Secondly unless you know the coaches personally you need to keep your mouth shut about their character or discpiline. Obviously the coaches have some of both to get their team to a state champhionship game. You might disagree with me but why punish the entire teams shot at a state championship by taking out the kid? Im sure disciplinary actions will be taken when the team arrives back in Pigeon Forge. This Pigeon Forge team deserves some respect. The Mountain Press has been great to them, but the New Sentinal and the Knoxville TV programs haven't. A man covering the game from our hometown local news station was saying at the game how Seymour should have been there instead...Hello we beat Seymour twice...and the second time absolutly killed them, it wasnt even close. These boys weren't even picked to win their district this year and they have brought a silver ball back to East Tennessee...can no one say anything good about them and their coaches? Give Pigeon Forge some well deserved and earned respect!! Also to muffin...hello everyones season is over! And only 1 other teams in the state in AA baseball played as long as Pigeon Forge and thats DL And to the Ripley fans...Pigeon Forge did not have a sign telling anyone to shut up. Yes one did say sit down in your seat, but if you have ever been to a Smokies game or any other pro baseball game, that saying is used alot. I still dont understand why the Ripley fans got so mad PF had signs? Its a state tournament there are gonna be fans. If you dont like that many fans and their signs then I strongly advise you to never go to a state tournament basketball game.
  23. just wondering but what is the point of this rule?
