  1. The AA finals could be BBS and Goodpasture.
  2. Since Davidson sat out last year at the State we ought to wait and see how they fair at state before we start rating them!
  3. District 5A: 1)Boyd Buchanan 2) Grace Academy BBS hosts Whitwell, 5pm Monday Lookout Valley hosts Grace on Monday
  4. Red Bank is a good team, well coached, and some of the hardest working players I have witnessed. Red Bank hits well and so does Baylor( Baylor is a good hitting team). Obviously there is a lot of parity in softball this year, any team is capable of playing an opponent tough, as well many teams have shown they can compete on many classification levels. The proof is in the scores this season in Chattanooga, where many teams have shown the ability to win big games against big opponents in and out of town. How could any team claim the right as the best? (Soddy could, yet they must finish the deal) The truth is that teams must continue to schedule tough opponents and compete in big tournaments to gain confidence, some level of consistency, and the respect of other programs. Once again, many teams have talked the talk, yet have not walked the walk! Good luck to all programs throughout the state as post-season approaches!!!!
  5. Most of the talk on this subject has to do with regular season. How will Rockwood do if they make it to the Spring Flling, and how would they do? Who do you think will be there in single A, and could Rockwood hang??????
  6. Any coach, regardless of school ball or travel ball, can learn from the other. I have never met a coach that knew it all, as a matter of fact some coaches know the game but do not know how to motivate their players (vice versa). The point is that coaches should share and be open to suggestions and techniques from each other; remember the players are the focus of the game, not the coaches and their egos.
  7. To me the most underated pitcher in East Tennessee is Brittany Hendon from Boyd Buchanan. She has endured some tough losses against strong AAA teams, yet her stuff is as good as any pitcher in single A.
  8. Brittany Hendon had a great tournament pitching for BBS, allowing one hit and striking out 12 Soddy batters. Anyone that keeps Soddy to one hit and two runs has pitched well. Out of respect for Soddy, ask Walker Valley and Baylor hitters they took hacks at her pitches too! Soddy has a great team, yet Baylor, Ooltewah, BBS have capable teams as well
  9. BBS tied Columbia Academy 0-0, lost to Creekwood 2-1 on Friday. Saturday BBS defeated Richland 5-2 and Ezell Harding 3-1. Well hosted tournament and thanks to the Columbia Academy folks. The Boyd and Columbia doubleheader at the end of April should prove to be a competitive one.
  10. BBS from Chattanooga is looking for JV games, they have a big number and are in need of more games. Call 423-624-9064.
  11. I agree that Baylor and Soddy Daisy will be tough again, and Ooltewah and GPS will be improved, yet do not leave out Boyd Buchanan. They return many starters and have plenty of experience up and down the lineup.
  12. Boyd Buchanan School (Chattanooga) is looking for possible JV games for softball this spring. BBS is willing to host a JV softball "playday" or would be interested in participating in one. Please contact Jeff Stone. Phone # 423-624-9064 email jstone@bbschool.org
  13. BBS will not be there. BBS has a theatrical event at school from Friday to Saturday which posed a conflict with playing in the tournament.
  14. Why is this discussion centered on whether or not something was said by someone? Bottom line, it was a good game, two great pitchers, 2 good defensive teams, and errors will occur when teams play in tight games like this.
  15. This was a good pitching dual. Sarah and Carrie both pitched extremely well. Correction, Boyd did have 7 hits, not 2. Carrie did a good job of keeping a good line up of hitters at bay. The key error was a overthrow to second on a steal in the 5th. The centerfielder overplayed the ball and let the runner score from second. Great game from McMinn, BBS played well.
