I agree with you.I've seen Jones and theyvare both very talented.ButvJones is nominated for Mr Football.Thought Wilkes would have been in the top 3 in Single A.Guess its because of Crockett Co being undefeated.Jones is very deserving.I guess if Lake Co were 9-0 maybe Wilkes would have been in the top 3.Has broken Jewel Flowers rushing yardage record.Would think sometimes its not always about a teams record.without Wilkes Lc may have 2 wins

MEANT to get on here earlier.Not sure about Lake Co until Wilkes, Johnson and Strayhorn get back.After what I saw last night have to say Union City first and Lake Co, Gibson Co,, South Fulton fighting for 2nd..Lake Co played Westview and I'm sure UC will be Taller than Westview , I thought Westview was better athletically at every position.Number 23 looked to be about 6, 4 and was too quick for Estes who played and had 4 fouls called on him in about 3 minutes in the first quarter.Also have a stud in number 1 and white kid number 22 looked to be a good shooter.Estes probably doesn't have all his mobility back but seemed a little slower.I know Blevins has talent but doesn't attack the rim and look tobshoot and isn't aggresive enough.Maybe it will come.Thought only Rashawn Taylor and Jermario had decent game.Saw some good things but a lot of bad.Estes has to get tougher and Blevins attak the basket and rebound.Saw South Fulton and thought thet were really small.and looked young.Played against Dyer Co and they were losing by 6 points in the 2nd quarter but played fast and very hard.Going to be too small for Union City but they play very hard.Didnt see any loafing from any of them.Look young but going to be very good in time.Liked watching them

What I was talking about was what you mentioned.Lake Co defensive backs allowing passes to be completed thatvshould be knocked down.Plus the quarterback dropping back to pass and ruuing for a lot of good yardage.Didnt come out and say it but was hoping Bruceton doesn't pass much and hope the qb isn't fast.Or hkopes he runs like sweeps and not drop back and scramble and then take off.We are looking better against the run.Glad SF didn't screvand had that delay penalty called with about 5 min left.Would have been down only 6 poihts if they had and maybe an onside kick.Who knows

Also noticed in that article it said players to watch were Taylor, Wilkes, Jemarioquan Jones.Makes it look like 1 player.Actually it is listing 4 players Taylor, Wilkes, and Jemario (Baby) Jones and Quan Jones.So in looking at the article they have 3 of the players to watch were subs last year and didn't list the starters.So if they are the players to watch over last years starters Lake Co should do ok.But I think Shai'kese Blevins could be a player to watch.Also hear a guy named Wesley Davis, a sophomore is a good ball handler and good athlete and will see floor time

I among with many others have Union City penciled in the state champioshipn game.They look better to me than last year ..But a lot of things have happened in this great sport.Several turnovers that usually never happens.Maybe more than 1 key injury.I know Union City is Loaded but what if quarterback andvHenry werevto get hurt..Dresden and Trenton are the two teams in West Tenn that I think have the best chance.May have to have the stars alighn just right but who knows.Hope its an injury free game but if Union City were to have some bad luck then Dresden and Trenton would be a couple teams that could come away with a win whereas Union City would be able to beat most of the other teams they have played without 4 or 5 starters.

People don't know about Blevins as he has had to sit for academic reasons but finally got to play last half of season last year..My son plays some street ball with him and he is very talanted.Has a video of him slamming 2 hands behind the head.Also has one of Jemario Jones, a sophomore easily slamming with 2 hands.if Blevins gets the chance he will bring the house down.Jones had 25 points against Obion Central as a freshman and many double digit games off the bench as the 6th man.May be hard to keep him from starting even with 4 starters returning.May start in place of Estes to help take some time off his knees or at least untin Estes is fully healed.Estes may start with boty Jones, Blevins and left handed Taylor.LakevCo should be very talented.Could come down to coaching.I look for Gibson Co to be really good this season also.

Lake Co advanced last night by beating SouthbFulton 38 -16.Coach T scorebiard has it 38 to 34 but score was 38 to 16.Saw some things Lc needs to do better on the defensive side of the ball.I think Laco Co only ran 4 plays in the first quarter, one being a punt.I, m sure Wilkes once again had close to 2oo yards.Had about a 65 yard touchdown run called back very late in the game.Now comes old familiar foe Bruceton

Could be wrong.could depend on Estes being healthy and his size to go with Blevins, Taylor, Jones and company but I actually Lake Co as A top 10 team, at least on paper.Had last years previous state champs, Humboldt on the ropes last year with a 7 point lead heading into the 4th quarter and for some reason had 3 starters in Coleman and Blevins on the bench and lost.So 4 starters back along with a very much improved Jemario Jones should be a bettercteam if Estes is healthy.He could be key with his size and blending in with the other 4 more athletic players

Jackson Sun doesn't recoghize Lake Co in any sports because we aren't considered one of their selling spots.Even when We had top five teams in the state along with UC and Humbolt we were nen ver in their top 10 rankings.Is that article accurate in players to watch.Wilkes and Jemario Jones were both subs last year.Didnt mention starters Darius Johnson, Blevins who is probably the best athlete, , a high flyer than can jump with any 6, 5 guy in the area, or 6, 5 Tyler Estes, the white guy that has improved each year and started the past 2 years, Maybe the Jackson Sun knows he may not play this year as he has been having some knee problems.Ithink he may miss some early games but thought he would be back.But also Lake Co has another big guy in Anthony Strayhorn who could be the starter if Estes doesn't play..Lake Co has 4 starters back in Estes if he plays, Blevins, Taylor,and Darius Johnson.I actually had Jemario Jones brother taking Zay Colemans spot with the other 4 startes from last year, But Jemario Jones just may be as good as any of the startes and may get the nod and either try Johnson at guard or thecJones kid.So the papercsaid players to watch were Wilkes and Jones , neither were starters last year.So considering Lake Co has 4 starters back thay will give us 6 startes.But they also didn't list Blevins who will in my mind start over any of last years startes.DemarionJones may start even if Estes is back .not surewhich way that will go.Wilkes will be one of the bestvshooters.I have him coming off the bench.Taylor has startedvthe past 3 years and in the State champioship so I thjnknhe starts.So should have blevins, Taylor, Johnson, Jemario Jones and his brother , Quan Jones at guard if Estes is out with Strayhorn and Wilkes off the bench, if Estes plays or when he plays could have a bigger lineup with Blevins,, Taylor,, Jemario Jones, Estes, and either Johnson at guard or the other Jones kid.Lake Co will have speed, depth and size., Lake Co could go with any of 8 or 9 players as starters.

Can't waitnto see the loaded Uc team.Are they as good as advertised? Maybe they are.But maybe they aren't.Maybe Lc will be better than many think.At Dyer Co tomorrow night without 3 or 4 footballplayers

Just curious, does the new transfer live in Martin or Union City ? I know it doesn't matter as to where he lives , just curious.Would seem if UTM hired his Dad and they lived in Martin, why would he not attend Martin Westview.And if they do live in Martin, makes me wonder if this wasn't a deal set up by the rich UC boosters, busineses that have ben really good to Uc , field, tractor trailer, etc.Titan TIRE, DISCOVERY Park.Maybe Chipper has connections now that he is coaching.Never mind , he.s at Dyersburg now and they got a couple Lake Co players that still live in Lc playing for Dyersburg...lol..Chipper , Will you come coach at Lc and leave our aAAU players alone..lol

Lake co should be a tough out this year.Blevins , TAYLOR, DARIUSVJohnson and 6, 5 Estes all starters are back along with the 2 Jones kids and Wilkes.Estes has been hurt so not s6revabout when he will be ready but Taylor has startes 3 years and Blevins can jump out of the gym.Saw a video of last years 6th man Demario Jones, a sophomoe and he mat end up starting.Also forgot about Football platey Strayhorn about 6 4 and 230 lbs.Lake Co should ge able to have 8 or 9 players capable of starting..they did lose best play3r from last years middle school to Dy3rsburg along with another player from last years high school team.Went to Dyersburg which is a bigger school and may win some gam es but won't challenge for State playl which I believe Lake Co will the next several seasons.Have a couple studs at the middle school to go along with the freshman and sophomores at the high schol now.If we can keep them from being recruited from Dyersburg and Dyer Co.Lake Co will play Dyer Co Sat night in Dyer Co jamboree

PARKER Stewart from Ohio.From what I read he is a 2 star player.Maybe I am mistaken but I'd think Mayberry is higher than that.I did read that he could shoot but still a lot of hoopla if he is a 2 star player
