  1. Lewis County won 46-21 and will get a rematch with Parsons in the second round.
  2. Lewis co had a big win against Adamsville tonight 46-21. LC had over 500 yds off. Adamsville never quit they fought hard all night.
  3. Speed, Strenght, 3 yr starter!
  4. What would classification with no privates do to other sports other than FB. Also would there be a push to go to more classicications such as 4A or 5A in these other sports? [Edited by ddaddy on 11-6-02 10:03A] [Edited by ddaddy on 11-6-02 1:34P]
  5. Lewis Co. won the region for the 6th time in the past 10 years.... Way to go Players and coaches.
  6. Is there any truth to the rumor that coach dugger resign as head football coach at Mt. Pleasant. If so, who is the frontrunner for the job?
  7. I don't want this to turn into a negative thread. I think it would be interesting to know what teams have not been successful in the past, but may have the potential to have good programs. I believe there are several ingredients that makes for a successful program. 1)Good players 2)Good coaches 3)Administrative support 4)community support (which usually comes with winning) 5)facilities (which usually comes with winning)

    good job tonight tigers!!!
  9. Checkerboard you mentioned all the state championships of the teams that surround Lewis County, but you didn't talked about football championships. I not sure of a lot of things but I do know that running a wint-t offense or 60 (not 4-4) defense has no affect on how many state championships baseball or basketball or any other sport will win. There's one fact that you are absolutely correct on, Lewis Co. has not won a state championship in football. I do not agree with you that LC has more talent that other team that they play. We had a great fullback last year that was great not because of athletic abilitly or speed, but because of hard work and heart. I do believe that in many cases LC teams are better prepared and have a good off-season program that contributes to their success. Now as far as state championships and playoff success of the football teams of the schools that are around Lewis Co. take a close look at the facts. This is not a slam on any other program, although there are some great programs surrounding LC, only Marshall Co. and Spring Hill has won a football state championsip (almost 20 years ago). Collinwood who can throw the ball all over the field didn't win a playoff game from 93-99. Columbia, Fairview, Hickman Co., Lawrence Co., Riverside, Richland, and Perry Co. are all winless in the playoffs since 1993. Loretto has had some great teams, but had 5 yrs. from 93 without a playoff win. Mt. Pleasant has had 2 Playoff win since 93 and Spring Hill has only won 3 during that time. The EZ Harding team that you mentioned did not have but one playoff win until the won it all in 2001. So I missed your point about all the other schools winning state championships and LC not. Our players and our coaches work hard and we are going in the right direction with all our sports. I am glad that you are a fan, but I hope you are not someone that I coach who have become so distorted and blind in your views. I coached several of those db's who ran a 5.3 40 yd. dash and thought they ran a 4.4.
  10. Coach Sharp and the panthers have not done well over the past 10 years. They have only been to the playoffs 10 years in a roll. Coach Sharp has lead his team to 21 playoff games during that period. They have only won 8 games 4 of those years, 9 games 2 years, 10 games 2 years and 12 games 2 years. There are four rounds of playoffs leading to the champ. game and Sharp has led his teams 3 deep only 3 times in 10 years, 2 deep 5 years and they have been put out in the first round 2 times in 10 years. If Sharp doesn't win the championship this year they should get someone who misses the playoffs every fourth year or so everyone can know what it is like not to play a first round game of the playoffs. Boy I bet those 8 of 10 years of getting past the first round would look great then. So tighten up Coach Sharp.
  11. Bobby #22 should read this message!
  12. I love to play the numbers game with football teams. If you rank team by the points scored and points given up and then combine the two it is very interesting. Lets use 2A as an example (we will take the top 10 only to save space): Points scored per game, 1.Sweetwater 38.5 ppg 2. Tyner 37.2 ppg 3.Lewis Co. 35.2 ppg 4. Huntingdon 34.1 ppg 5. Goodpasture 31.1 ppg 6. Westview 30.7 ppg 7. Fairview 30.1 ppg 8. Marion Co. 29.8 ppg 9. Loretto 28.6 ppg 10. Hampton 28.4 ppg Points given up per game, 1.Carver 6ppg 2.Lewis Co. 6.6ppg 3.Goodpasture 8ppg 4.Fairview 8.5ppg 5.Mitchell 8.7ppg 5.D'Lipscomb 8.7ppg 5.Oliver Springs 8.71ppg 8.Tyner 9.1ppg 9.Waverly 9.2ppg 10.W Green 9.4ppg. If you add the rankings up and take the lowest total first here's what you get; 1.Lewis Co(7-1) 2.Tyner(7-0) 3.Sweetwater(7-0) 4.Goodpasture(7-0) 5.Fairview(6-2) 6. Mithcell(5-2) 7.Carver(6-2) 8.Milan(6-1) 9.Huntingdon(6-1) 10.Waverly (5-2)
  13. I'm glad to see Fairview finally winning some games. Through the past 10 years I have found myself pulling for the underdog jackets. Through hard work and good coaching they have finally began to win some games. This message to the Fairview people, do not forget what it was like to go 17 and 74 over the past 9 years. This will help you be humble in your success. Humility will help you maintain you successful ways. Remember an 18% winning percentage is just a few years back. Some of you are going to take this as a slam against Fairview, but it is intended to be constructive. Don't become the team that everyone loves to hate. [Edited by ddaddy on 10-15-02 5:56P]
  14. If it's a dry night Harpeth will will!!!
  15. Of course most offensive linemen would make this list, but what about those other players who play for the team and the love of the game first. Eric Mcknight from Lewis County is a good one to start with!
  16. Bobby Sharp---Lewis County-----Consistency counts. For the past 10 yrs. the regional championship has been between Lewis Co. and some other them.
