  1. If he is interested in putting on a short two or three day camp for underprivileged kids grades 6 - 11 in the Appalachian Mt. area, contact me through coacht personal messenger and we might set up something for the week before or after the dead period.
  2. There is a topic "Youth Camps" on page 2 where some are listed for ages 8 through 11th grade. Some I know of are Carson Newman O-line camp, Cumberland College in KY, Univ. of KY has an excellent set of instructional camps in the summer, I know several folks say the UT camps are more about show than instruction and I know their program is better than UK, but UK seems to provide really good camps for middle through high school age kids that want to learn.
  3. Seriously, its not out of a kids range for the $12. I go to school everyday with barely the $3 I need for a teachers lunch and constantly have 7th and 8th graders asking me for change for a $10 or $20. Go figure?????????????!!!!!!!!!!!!!! thumb P.S. Maybe you should give a "poor working stiff who's always broke" discount. ha ha just kidding...................
  4. Just recieved a flyer about a youth football camp at Cumberland College in Williamsburg Ky. It will be a day camp on June 27, 28, and 29. Cost will be $40.00 which includes a T-shirt. For more info call....606-539-4423 or e-mail football@cumberlandcollege.edu
  5. How unfortunate for you to think that a candidate must already be a head coach. Great head coaches are wherever you can find them. If the selection process group and those advising them are not so arrogant that they will overlook a promising and upcoming assistant that might just fill the bill over some local silver spooner or big name coach that is obviously "not that good" or he wouldn't be in the market, they might just find someone to pull Halls out of "we can't keep our talent at home" quagmire. Remember, that was one of the battles they had to fight in Jacksboro, and a man experienced in that phase is probably what "Leonardslosers" need to over come a long shadow of leaving...... P.S. No they weren't that great on offense, they just had a great running back. Look at the scores and you will see several Defensive wins............
  6. UT Chattanooga used to have an excelent camp for grades 7 - 11. I don't know if they still have it or not but is worth checking out. UK has several camps for middle school and high school groups that offer full contact camps as well as the standard sneakers and shorts type of instruction. Sewanee, Univ of the South has traditionally held a wing -T type of instructional camp which is especially good for skill players in an option or double slot type of offense. Carson Newman has an excellent Offensive Lineman camp open to jr. high age through 11th grade.
  7. Every year he has been there they have had a top notch defense. Offense has been the stumbling block at Campbell Co., a phase of the game that has been out of his hands. He has a resume of coaching experience at other programs that have been on top year in and year out.
  8. Don't count Wampler out as not worth mentioning against the bigger name coaches. He proved he is capable of moving up with a stellar defensive coaching job at Campbell Co. A coaching performance that literally carried the Cougars to the playoffs with their first winning season EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Julian may be local and have some support, but sometimes the local opposition will outweigh the support.
  9. If we were a Lingerie Bowl team we could brag but alas we are simply a small Class A team looking for the most economical camp we can find.
  10. I agree with sportsradiotn about shelling out the $12. I would like to learn more about the Lunsford situation and what J.C.'s position and future is in all this. What is the matter, are the Carter County boys too cheap to spend a dollar a month to talk football in the dead of winter through the summer until the "freebie" boards open up? Come on guys, we can't get in a word edgewise when the free boards are open for all the "Landers", "Dawgs", and "Rangers". Consider the $12 as simply a 12 pack you can enjoy for about 6 to 7 months and you don't even have to run out the road for a refill.............. thumb
  11. Does it have to be an email or can a plus member send a message by way of the personal message feature we have as plus members?
  12. Well the boards have been cleaned off and old topics are gone. I had a topic about this subject and got some good information early about EKU, TN Tech., Univ. of the South, Cumberland of KY, and Webb of Bell Buckle. Thanks to those contributors for their help and useful info. NOW; does anyone NEW have any information about some we may have missed, like some of the smaller Tennessee College Campuses like maybe Belmont, Tusculum, Cumberland of Lebanon etc........ please respond if you have anything? We are not a well endowed $$$$$ program and are looking for the most cost effective deal without camping out in the gym and trying to hold 30+ boys hostage on their own turf.
  13. Well, I'll bump one last time and ask if GWAVE1 reads this if there is still a Middle Tennessee HS Clinic at Gallatin? If so, when and where please and thank you?

    Lee Sweeny

Is this fellow devoted enough to baseball to maybe make it a career if he has to wait too long at his football position?????????
  15. I thought that the TSSAA was our only state association and these others were independent associations with independent agendas???????
  16. Plenty of good and informative responses, thanks guys. Now, you have to be a member of TACA for your player to be eligible for the TACA all-star game or post season honors that may be bestowed by TACA. Are there any strings attached by the TNFCA in regards to same????????
  17. I knew about the coverage with TACA, does the other organization have anything similar? I didn't see anything to that effect on their website.
  18. MY TWO CENTS WORTH! For what its worth? Sanders gone - yes. Chavis gone - no. Haven't they handicapped ol' Chavis by stealing a few good D-line prospects to bolster the O-line when things looked bleak? Maybe a new face in charge of the offense whould make things look a little brighter and a new or better schooled secondary coach, scheme, etc would help.
  19. Have been out of high school coaching for about six years and used to belong to TACA. Back in hs coaching and find two organizations, TACA and TNFCA. Which is active, which is best, do most football coaches belong to one or the other or both??????????? Need some input and advice before I start writing checks for membership.
  20. UT is usually more show than information. There is some stuff on the NFL websites that can get you clinic type info by way of videos and summer camps for youth that would be more useful than the UT clinic. The fellowship of Christian Athletes has a lot of good youth information as well. Now if you want to play pro style ball or if you have a five star athlete in your pocket then you can get about anything you want from UT, otherwise you are just another $50 for a t-shirt and orange folder........
  21. Evidently the BigEasy1590 has jumped the gun in favor of the home town team. According to sources from Jellico High, the contract (signed by both principals) was in Jellico's favor on the home game for the 14th. The game has apparently been rescheduled rather than Jellico claiming a 1 - 0 forfeit as has been erroniously reported on the coacht scoreboard by bigeasy1590 in favor of Hancock. Media folks should be more cautious in reporting scores that are in question!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  22. Is this score for real or a misunderstanding on home vs away dates? Have the contracts been scrutinized for the "bigeasy" to report such a score? Has the TSSAA sanctioned the forfeit??????????????? :justwrestle:
  23. I take it you are either a trout fisherman, wildlife major or TWRA employee.
  24. Do you remember the cost per player at Eastern KY, throw46?? At Tenn Tech, mpm??
  25. I'm bumping this topic back to the front because I need some help, some replies, I,m bored out of my mind and need some football clinics to attend!!! I've been out of the high school game for five years, coaching middle school and just took on a new coaching position in high school ball and need some refreshing contacts and ideas to get the congealed blood in my veins flowing again!!!!!!!!!!!!!
