  1. Carson Newman/Sportsbelle Clinic of Champions at the Music Road Hotel in Pigeon Forge. It is usually in Feb/March. Call Carson Newman Athletics for details.
  2. Unfortunately I have to agree with Jkar about the unimpressiveness of this win. Union Co. is the Red Boiling Springs of 3A and CCHS is 5A. Hopefully for the Cougars the headline (Laf. Press) stealing freshman team means that a return to competitive varsity football is only a season or two away.
  3. Without all this Carter Co. ratchetjawing that these topics turn into....Williamsburg Ky. will explode with TD passes and speed that Cloudland cannot deal with. Yellowjackets30+ Cloudland 6 if lucky!
  4. Don't count your chikins yet........just comparing apples and oranges, Kings beat Silverdale 19-2 and Silverdale beat Midway. You guys havn't had the best of luck vs Midway in recent years. Has Midway fell off that much or are these other teams better than originally thought???????????
  5. What happened? Don't they call in scores up there or what? Maybe they went to the ETSU mini-dome and locked the doors so nobody would know the results or they cancelled the game and called it a draw so neither would have to lose to the other................................
  6. I just remembered you making the comment before you played us about getting the snake off your back on the post game program. We wondered if you meant the loss or assistant Red as the snake on your back. lol lol
  7. Pick on anyone you want, but cut poor ol' peeblee (teh) some slack, he only called things for an assistant to keep the snake off his back.
  8. Fulton looses to AE. AE looses to Catholic. Question is, is Catholic really that up with just the faithful that attend there or is their denial of imbibing in the private school ritual of attracting good athletes without giving scholorships (or invisable church money) really true?????????????????????????????????????????????????? All replys respected, but to no avail, where there is smoke there is fire...........
  9. No.# 9 Corey Brown has a hairline crack in the tip of the pelvis bone and will be out for approx. three weeks. Thanks for the concern, and again good luck on the rest of the season.
  10. A. The starting backfield was in the whole first qtr. with the possible exception of play call substitution. B. The folks in Jellico would like to say that Hampton and ol' Big Dog 71 represented themselves with class and sportsmanship during the game and with the post game prayer and fellowship. J.C. Campbell and Mike Lunsford are class coaches and it reflects in their team. Good luck to Hampton the rest of the season!!!!!!!!
  11. that that is ok mentor, just hit hit the edit button next time and and edit out the mistakes........................
  12. Wouldn't expect to hear any other kind of comment about the Oneida defense when you have the former DC of Oneida under the "Ol Coach" as the new head coach along with Mr. Lambert as his DC. Yards will be few and far in between for opponents vs the Indians now...............
  13. Sounds like a Scott Co. report, they got a Wesley Smith capable of the same type of game busting. Must be cousins or something...........I am assuming this is a Cloudland "Landers" thread since Maynardette started it?????????????????
  14. Not to take anything from Lenoir Citys win, but this sounds like a game of total Murphy's Law for Campbell Co. ( If anything can go wrong it will). The Cougars are joined by Alcoa in having top players having to sit out next week,a very unfortunate situation to be in. Be sure to appeal the sideline hit, they (TSSAA)sometimes rule in favor of the player if you have good film and it shows beyond a doubt that there was no malice in the infraction and was just a poorly timed hit that was closer to the sideline than the ref. thought it was. Had a player ejected for piling on once and appealed it because the film clearly showed he was just a big ol' boy without much balance and a player from the other team actually pushed him on the pile from behind. (which the ref did not see) Won the appeal too, sometimes RC and company actually do rule in your favor................
  15. Give us a few details, score, who did what, etc...........
  16. The worst thing about the game was the heat index and the humidity!!!!! Both teams hit the wall after one qtr. One kid from Oakdale went to the hospital with heat problems and a slight head injury. Hope he is alright today. I don't know how bad it was at other games but the Jellico/Oakdale game was played in an outdoor sauna. The field was holding water from recent heavy rains and was evaporating moisture in addition to the hot humid weather....... Any way the boys in blue are proud to start the season with a W and the defense scored while only giving up 6, a vast improvement. thumb Good luck to Oakdale on the rest of their season.
  17. Campbell Co. by two TD's. Johnson and Hightower may offset each other in effectivness and Stiner will be the difference in scoring.............
  18. The panthers will have to OUTSCORE the cougars for a victory. I don't think Lenoir City can stop the cougar offense with the Johnson kid running the ball, so they will have to exploit the early season inexperience of the defense to outscore them if they intend to beat the 5A Cougars................
  19. I noticed you made the same topic twice. If you don't get a reply on a topic you start, just go back to it and type "bump" and it will go back to the top of page one. No need for additional topics on the same subject. As for Jellico, they are improved over last year and are pretty much west coast on offense and run a wide variety of defensive fronts. thumb
  20. You Cougars are getting too quiet again so I am bumping this topic back up front. This is week 2 and what new scrimmage action have the Cougars seen vs whom?
  21. Since there is someone from Unaka Ranger country on here now do you have any kind of report on how the Rangers are looking in practice/scrimmages this fall?
  22. I'll say one thing for the Central JV, they have a future so bright they need to wear sunglasses...........Central has more speed than the VIAGRA NASCAR TEAM on both the varsity and the JV. thumb BTW 09 don't forget that tip drills are a part of practice also
  23. I won't make any major predictions due to a lack of in-depth knowledge on the upper East TN teams, but will take up for the Bulldogs of Bearden in reference to their coaching and work ethic. I had a chance to observe them in camp at TTU this past week and with a new Off. Cord. and a solid week of three-a-days, they look to be a major challenger for a 3 or 4 spot in the Big East this year......... thumb
  24. kingbrian3. do you have any reports on how the rest of the Morgan Co. schools have done in early scrimmages? How 'bout Oakdale, Sunbright, or Coalfield?????
  25. Saw you guys in Browning Hall at TTU last week. Looks like you had a great off season and really worked hard in camp. There will be lots of folks believing in you by the mid-way point of the season. Good luck and "Get-er-done"!!!!!!
